Team Dude - Fail.  Unless I'm missing something, the team can't stop Flik before he gets a turn.  Ouch.

Team Gate - Fail.  This is just ugly.

Team Excal - Bounce works for the Suiko fight if Angelo gets a turn, looks like.  Pass, I guess, since the rest of the floor doesn't look all that threatening.

Planescape: Torment - Did I just do an idiotic quest to help a building give birth to a street just to get to the other side of town?  Anyways, the sarcastic floating skull just got nabbed, so obviously, it's time for another fetch quest.  Joy.

Planescape: Torment - Apparently a guy with amnesia teams up with a sarcastic floating skull in order to find his memories.  In the meanwhile, they fight crime.

No clue as to what I'm doing, so I'm pretty much running around like an idiot trying to solve everyone's problems.  At least the game doesn't pull that whole YOU MUST GATHER YOUR PARTY BEFORE VENTURING FORTH crap, and it seems to realize when people have hit a dead end.  This alone makes it better than Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale.

Sheena (Suiko)   vs   Debonair - 2HKOs first.  OB64 Debonair isn't that fast to me
Sheena (Suiko)   vs   Cameela (SF 2) - OHKO?  Don't really feel like being generous to SRPG bosses.

Hoshigami: Grinding for seals.  It's somewhat different, I guess, but the differences aren't great enough to be excited about and the implementation is fail.  Also, the battles feel like a slow form of torture.  Oh well, I brought this on myself...

Within A Deep Forest: I mostly started this to ease the pain of playing Hoshigami, though since I've gotten about half the balls already, I don't think that's going to last very long. *sigh*

Team Dude - Pass.  Marcus is still awesome and Rune is always awesome.  Purim no longer being dead weight helps too!

Team Gate - Pass.  Confuseables.  Yay.  Purim no longer being dead weight (and Gnome is easily floor 2 to me) helps too!

Team Excal - Pass.  Cecil has that nifty Deathbringer/Black Sword/whatever it's called now, and the combination of tankishness and healing is difficult to overcome.

to stop being so damn generous and stop passing people based on my personal interp of early floors equals scaling enemies down.

Why do that now?  Silly floor 1 is silly and most of the enemies in this floor are sad enough as it is.

FF3DS - Apparently some local idiot decided it would be fun to chain up the airship so the LIGHT WARRIORS MKII or whatever can't go and look for the Earth Crystal and they need new boots to reach him.  Yay.  Lineup is Knight/Ranger/WM/BM.  Game is pretty fun, although the encounter rate is a bit high in my opinion.

Hoshigami - Started this out of boredom/curiousity, then stopped about midway through the first battle.  The RAP system can go eat a dick.  Coins look like fail too, though I'm not in much of a position to judge that at this time.  I'll probably stick with it, if only to determine if I'll hate it more than Beyond the Beyond.

Team Dude - Pass.  Early game Marcus is awesome, as is Rune.  That and the healing should be enough for this floor.

Team Gate - Okay, Excal's argument makes sense.  Pass.

But anyways...

I don't remember the exact numbers for BoF and silly library won't let me check now but one thing I think I do remember is Songstress not being so slow by comparison.

Nina and Deis are pretty damn fast, and Songstress is, according to the stat topic, only slightly above average.

Quote
You're assuming Yuna lives through Yuri and Nei's Song of Madness boosted damage

Unless I'm missing something, Yuri still has to deal with Yuna's evasion, and SoM goes off after Yuri gets a turn.

Quote
Eiko also has access to Silence at this point (just picked up the Mythril Racket (which Eiko can use Silence  from, incidentally it also teaches Life Snow >.>) at Treno Gate airstation at the beginning of disc two so if she does get a turn she shuts down Yuna completely.

Except Silence is innaccurate and isn't hitting until turn 3 (also, Yuna can possibly block it?  I'd have to check) at the earliest (stat topic says it has a 46% hit rate, so ha to that).  And if she tries to land Silence, she's not reviving.  Which means that there's nothing preventing her from being blown up.

Just some stray comments.

*Note to Random Consonant - Lulu doesn't go before Songstress and Lucia if we're factoring in averages, Lulu's nearly the slowest in her cast bar Auron. In fact according to Tonfa's stat topic Songstress is actually above average speed! Granted not by much but still. Lucia isn't the slowest in her cast either - it's Kurando > Yuri = Karin > Lucia = Ana > Joachim > Gepetto (noting that Galed > Lucia is > non fused Yuri/Kurando but eh she has to use a turn to do that hrmm) Eiko is also dead on average speed, faster than Amarant, Vivi and Steiner. It's Eiko's HP that's complete fail not her speed ;

Doesn't matter a whole lot if Songstress is killed.  And she will get killed.  If she tries to shut down Lulu, Yuna just fries her with Holy and unless Lulu is Kongol-level slow (which I doubt), there isn't exactly a whole lot you can do about her getting a turn during the downtime.  And Lulu getting a turn means at least one person dies here.

Ok ... looked more stuff up ...  Covenant has 22 chapters, with 12 being disc end of disc one. Assuming it's a relative split down the middle and end of disc one is midgame. Amon is Chapter 10, which floor would that be?

Looking at chapter numbers alone, probably either Floor 3 or 4, I'd guess.  I'm inclined to say 4 myself, but what do I know?  Somebody with a better grasp of this tell me if this is at all reasonable.

Quote
If he isn't then Yuri then probably kills kills Deis with stacked song of madness/rage-(L1 fusion/energy charge, maybe song of madness alone, dunno, leaving Nina easy to deal with. Unless you're seeing Nina taking buffed Yuri's remaining HP with her physical w/o atk up >____>

Unless I'm mistaken, he wants to kill Nina first, since she can just revive Deis.   Doesn't matter a whole lot, though.

Well, if Yuri gets a turn, he gets the hell out of a Dark form and switches to a Light form, removing Yuna's OHKO of Holy on him.  So Yuna probably wants to off Yuri first.  That said, I'm not sure if the Songstress is able to status out Lulu (Lulu can block Sleep, and apparently Stop for Songstress at this point is in dispute?), so once Lulu gets a turn, it's probably still bad.  Hmm.  Not sure.

Durr... I pay attention good.  That'll teach me to muddle this stuff out.  Disregard what I said about the fight, then.

But yeah, this is all assuming the team gets there relatively unscathed... I myself don't believe that to be the case, as there's nothing stopping Nina from playing musical Hold, and Deis makes stuff go boom, so...

Lulu can be shut down by status. Customization isn't allowed for FFX characters in the DL is the general rule as far as I know. Lucia and possibly Yuri are protected from DC Death by Leonardo's bear. Lucia can status protect my other reviver or Songstress.

This doesn't matter for one reason.  Yuna can kill the Songstress with Holy before she can act.  Yes, Eiko can revive her, but I was under the impression that death sends you to the back of the line turn-wise (do some people believe otherwise?).  Lulu's slow, but not don't-get-a-turn-until-next-decade slow.  Outside of that, Yuna can OHKO Yuri or Lucia with Holy.  The ID blocker is a good point if people allow them, but Lulu still has DC Flare, and that can off someone frail like Eiko or the Songstress.

Here's how I think it'll go, then.  Yuna offs Songstress.  Eiko (or Yuri, let's be generous for the sake of argument) revives, the other person does something, Lucia either protects Eiko or Songstress, doesn't matter, Nei sings, again, doesn't matter, I doubt she can prevent Lulu from going before Songstress at this point and unless I'm mistaken, and Yuna can get a turn before Songstress at this point anyways.  Lulu DCs Flare, offs Eiko, and Yuna then smites Yuri with Holy.  Game over.  Songstress can only shut down one person and dies as soon as the other gets a turn.  No muss, no fuss, no instant death.  Feel free to correct me if I've made a mistake somewhere.

Of course, if Yuri *doesn't* have revival at this point, your team doesn't even make it this far due to Eiko getting offed by Hungry Friend and won't even make it past the BoF1 fight for the reasons cited above.

They do on this floor!

ST and targetable. I love Neph's dungeon~

That actually hurts more than it helps, since only one person is getting protection and Lulu has Doublecast.  She simply kills whichever two without protection.  Even if people allow L2 fusions at this point, getting past that fight is questionable at best.

Team Tranquil - Okay, so Lucia can give the team status protection... don't think it matters all that much, though.  For the BoF1 fight, BoltX Songstress, Hold Eiko.  If Yuri's revival is on a L2 fusion... do I buy him having it at this time?  Not sure, so I'll assume he doesn't.  Yuri then OHKOs someone, probably Nina since she can hit him with Hold and revive Deis while the team has no offense.  Deis has non-elemental damage on par with BoltX (expensive though it may be), so Eiko eats that and goes boom.  Yeah, I'm not inclined to be generous here, and the team isn't clearing the floor without revival.  Fail.

Team Tide - Yeah, I don't think Garnet eats Explode on the first turn.  Is it enough?  Not sure.

Team Tonfa - This is tough for the team, the PS4 fight in particular.  They do not pass.

The problem is that Eiko's resources aren't really stellar at this point, so she probably only has one shot of Fenrir here and not much left for healing if she uses it.  It can probably handle the tanks or the bosses, though.  Topic lists Songstress as having Silence at this point, so that can handle the buffers before things get dangerous.

Hmm... now that I think about it, the SH2 people only have to be competent here.  Eiko Fenrirs the tanks, and Lynx is the only one in the fifth room who's vaguely threatening, so Team Tranquil passes.

Team Tide | Sasarai (TER), Arnaud, Ephraim, Garnet, Duran(Light)
[Floor 4a]
*For this floor, all damage and healing is reversed. All status healing spells inflict that status at 100% (Including Life -> ID), all status-inflicting spells remove that status (ID -> Life) and all Buffs or debuffs do the opposite (Saner would reduce speed and evasion) These spells can be targetted at enemies or allies.
*All resources normally used for Healing are infinite, as well.
Team Tide vs. Fei and Bart
Team Tide vs. Rosa and Cecil
Team Tide vs. Ziggy, Shion and KOS-MOS
Team Tide vs. Robo and Frog
Team Tide vs. Rune and Chaz

I think I know enough to be sure about this.  Fei and Bart aren't really threatening.  Garnet being above average speed and the other enemies save for Chaz and Frog (I think) being less so also helps, as does the team not being sunk if she gets offed on the last room.

Abstain on the other two teams for now.  I have no idea what Team Tranquil is capable of offensively at this point due to being absolutely clueless on Yuri, and I don't know half of what Team Tonfa is up against.
