Holy shit.

Questions:

1. You do mostly weight lifting with cardio only being a warmup. What was your starting BMI and what are you at now?
1.5. Starting and ending weight?
2. What was the bench/deadlift weight you started at?
3. How many days a week do you lift?
4. What was your weight of progress? Like, how long did it take you to go from 40k to 45k?
5. nudespls

All this with the disclaimer of this is power lifting training.  This is specifically training for strength, not to put on size, tone or to lose weight (though having some muscle helps lose weight because you use more energy).  Edit - Also with the disclaimer of I am not actually any good at this shit with how to do it and that weight is really really nothing special.  It is just a personal goal that is much happy time.

1.  I don't really do much cardio during weight sessions.  I do like 500 metres on a rower (so like 4 minutes because lol@myendurance).  My cardio is normally separate during bootcamps or my boxing session.  Otherwise I walk a lot more than I ever used to now that I moved a few months ago.  Walk to work (20 minutes), walk to the gym from home (40 minutes).  My starting BMI would be like 52, now would be 32 which still says I am obese.  I still have a chunk of body fat on me that I would like to drop off, but it is hard to do while still aiming to increase strength, so blargh.

That said, usual complaints about BMI goes here, it still says I am obese, let alone overweight.  I would be wicked shredded at mid 70 kgs.

1.5 around 140kg when I started training.  92kg this afternoon after having a mad large curry for dinner the previous night with 3 servings of Naan.  I float around 90-92.

2.  Bench 20kg (the bar), probably after doing some light Dumbbell bench.  Deadlifts I started a few months into training (lots of general fitness stuff to address), but I started repping at like 60kg.  This was well after I started doing back squats.  I started those at 20kg too.  And THOSE were started after I had been killing it on a leg press for a couple of months.  Technique super super super important in all these lifts.  Started at light weight to train the body to do it properly both for form and to make sure you get the most work you can out of it.

3.  I bench twice a week (one assistance dumbbell work), deadlift once a week and squat another.  There is other ways to do this obviously.  There is a bunch of assistance stuff on each of these days other than those exercises.  In a good week I go to 2 or 3 bootcamps also (sometimes flow into one from assistance bench) and I do boxing for cardio another day of the week.

4.  Well I work in to a time frame to try and get conditioned for 1 rep max.  So one week when I am doing like 60 kg bench for 6 reps, the next I might do 70 kg for 5 or whatever.  When I was starting off though and had technique pretty right?  Not sure if this is optimal, but we went up 2.5 or 5 kilos when I started to get 10 reps at a weight.  Sometimes it was only a couple of weeks, sometimes it was longer.

For me last PB of 95 to the 100 now?  4 months.  but I should have been able to do it in April, but choked.

5. Here is one of me flexing

So I start student teaching in the fall, this means any revenue I could get from being a substitute teacher will be kind of impossible because working 5 days a week during school hours, and student teachers don't make anything...

...so went job hunting of course and managed to land a job as a Deli Clerk in a Supermarket a lot faster than expected.  Not the most glorious of things but hey, it's income!

Looking at old good morning topics is interesting/a bit depressing. There is the usual poor life choice crew (Myself, Zenny) a bunch of people who don't really post any more (ID, Strago). The big thing is the difference in posts. 40+ pages of posts in the 2009 good morning this time in 2009. Whoof.

It is also fun to read about things I forgot (that awful job I took in summer of 09 that I didn't last long in, getting rained out of Busch Gardens in 09).

Moved. My supervisor who came over to help move left a window open and my cat got out, and he ran away. :( This was yesterday. I left him food and left the house open and will try to go get him tomorrow. Too busy with visa and karate stuff today. A little worried about the little prick. Hopefully he will be waiting for me.

Don't have shit to do this weekend, so will be keeping an eye on him to make sure he doesn't pee everywhere and is getting enough attention to feel relaxed. Cat pheromones have been sprayed and this is supposed to help a lot. We'll see.

Met my bosses and coworkers at the BoE yesterday. Holy crap apparently I am relatively high up the ladder now. O_o. Definitely higher up than most non-advisor ALTs. Time for the anxiety to set in I guess. But anxiety aside this is what I wanted. Being as high up as I am I won't get handed down any retarded edict from the BoE telling me to teach really simple, ineffective lessons or told to stop teaching something because I wasn't to be trusted to handle the lessons on my own. And, with it all kind of riding on my shoulders, my reputation is at stake enough to curbstomp any laziness or complacency I may develop later into the job. This... this is good. I think.

Catstitutional Monarchkitty was safe and sound, though the dumbfuck couldn't figure out how to get into the house via the huge open window so he didn't eat any of the feed I left out for him. :( Doing well though, fed and watered and sleeping. Hasn't peed on anything yet but it has only been two hours.

So nothing that wasn't already soaked in worse anyway.

Reminding myself to make a "hey, I live, nothing special going on" post so that folks don't think my entire life is nothing but bad shit. I exist. Still living with in-laws so maybe my life IS nothing but bad shit right now, but there's already a hard time limit on this  so it's not really that bad.

I did miss Jenna finally roping her family into playing CAH yesterday, since I was hanging out with Dracos. Apparently hilarity was had, including such gems as "And the Academy Award for (not giving a shit about the third world) goes to (white people)." and literally everyone at the table having some sort of variant on young boys type of card to play when "What was the last thing that went through Micheal Jackson's head before he died?" came up. Her dad wants no part of this game again, but I should be here for the next one once Jenna's mother and sister recover from the embarrassment of playing the game.

So we are finally back from our adventures in Scotland and Northern England. tldr; went to a lot of museums and roamed around the various areas.

We went to the art gallery with Clear Tranquil on the first non jetlag day. I learned that some of the earlier art doesn't appeal to me because it's just hundreds of pictures of Baby Jesus. Later stuff was more diverse and better though. Drove to a few random little towns near Edinburgh, including Robert Owen's little village, who apparently a factory owner who didn't hate his employees and later was the founder of British socialism. I learned a lot of Scottish history via tapestries, which were quite well done I must say, and went to the Scottish National Museum, which was mostly natural history and technology themed.

After a week in Edinburgh we were off to Northern England, where we stayed in a little village. We mostly went and saw a variety of Roman ruins because where we stayed was nearish to Hadrian's wall and other Roman forts that had had recently excavated ruins. Some of the altars were extremely well-preserved, which I was impressed by. It's crazy to think about how long it took Europe to catch up to the hygiene standards of the Romans. Other than that, we watched a play in an open field with six players, which was quite charming, and went to the Lake District a bit, which is filled with tourists. Still didn't get to visit London, though. >:(

Overall I had a lot of fun but I am currently jetlagged after 16-17 hours of travel.

1.5x current rent, or 1.4x when you take into account the lesser commute cost, in-unit w/d, utilities covered, etc. But if you factor in how much of my time is wasted, I'm making a ton of money just by shaving it down to 30 minutes.

Give and take, but hey, it's the Bay Area. Justifying ridiculous expenditure comes with the territory.

Choked during competition.  Got 102 on first lift.  Choked on next two lift.  Should have gone lighter.  So it goes.

I learned a bit.  Didn't go berserk when I failed so that is a change.

It wasn't without its issues but overall it was a lot of fun. Paul Heyman's promo was a masterpiece, Dean Ambrose is still the best guy, Ric Flair and Roddy Piper and the nWo were all there, Heath Slater got bigger pops than John Cena or Seamus...
