Week 2 - Eliminations

Ryu (BoF3) Ryu vs Killer Killer (SH3)

Blank Syndrome
Eh, too bad about Killer; guy's a badass.

Ryu: 29
Killer: 9

Kartikeya (WA5) Kartikeya vs Tidus Tidus (FFX)

Sei
The slaughter was as quick as it was brutal.

No, not the battle against Tidus. That ended a few minutes ago after the unhinged Sentinel proved to him that all his speed and evade won't save him from getting to shredded by a Twister or two.

However, Kartikeya felt that he just had to celebrate his glorious Godlike victory by showing the puny human how absolutely powerless he was.

So he pointed his ARM at Yuna and threatened to murder her right in front of his eyes.

Don't worry folks! Anima didn't tear him apart too badly that the League's healers couldn't revive him in time for his next match.

Kartikeya: 27
Tidus: 8

Ramirez (SoA) Ramirez vs Raquel Applegate Raquel Applegate (WA4)

superaielman

Ramirez modeled his fighting style after that of Lord Galcian. The silvite's a little faster and a little tougher and has a different element, but the two are otherwise share the same type of moves.

What Ramirez has going for him is rage- namely what he'll be feeling when see his foe and remembers that Raquel had bested Lord Galcian. In HEAVY. There were tears, recriminations, and blood on the walls. And that was in Ramirez's room before the fight even started. Raquel stood no chance against the raging torrent of emo that was Galcian's most trusted Admiral.

Ramirez: 19
Raquel Applegate: 14

Zio (PS4) Zio vs Kefka Kefka (FF6)

Gatewalker
Zio has recently learned a harsh lesson in when and when not to let your pride run away with you. For all intents and purposes, he had his match in the bag. Kefka hadn't even bothered to show up, as that day was also his Bonus Day in Dissidia and he was cheerfully grinding the hours away. Of course, Zio didn't see this as a free win over a tough opponent. He saw it as being snubbed for a video game. So, he went to go do the first thing that came to mind to make Kekfa take him seriously.

He broke Kefka's PSP.

This...was a mistake. While Zio had tangled with Final Fantasy bosses before, neither Chaos nor the One Winged Angel had prepared him for what happens when Kefka really loses it. And after that, the clown was Dancing Mad.

Zio fancied himself a Messenger of Darkness, and he'd come for a Decisive Battle with the mad clown, not to be ignored like a nobody. Even as Kefka started going into one of his most venomous rants ever, Zio stood firm. Neither the fact that Kefka was frothing at the mouth nor the hasty retreat every bystander in the area clued him in to The Extreme danger he was in.

So of course he made his second mistake. Attacking Kefka before he was done ranting.

The resulting blood-bath isn't something that should be described with words(or any other medium for that matter). Suffice it to say that by the time Kefka was done, parts of Zio were littering the arena and parts of him were in an Otherworld entirely.

For Kefka, this was a bad week. He may be moving on to Battle 2, but he'll still have to replace his PSP, which is a hassle.

For poor Zio, however, This Is The Last Battle.

Zio: 11
Kefka: 31

Geno (SMRPG) Geno vs Demi Demi (PS4)

Gatewalker
Geno was looking his loss in the face. With electronically enhanced targeting systems, Demi's accuracy was amazing. That last shot had been nearly picture perfect. With only one shot left to him, he knew he couldn't afford to settle for 'near' perfection.

Carefully taking aim, Geno morphed into a cannon...and fired.

There were many obstacles in his path. Tiny meteorites closing in, the asteroid his target was placed on floating slowly away even as he aimed, lasers randomly criss-crossing the gap in between. But the bowling ball flew on. Through the meteorites and lasers without being so much as scratched, straight towards the target as if drawn by a magnet. Would it connect? Would the asteroid's subtle movements cause him to miss?

No! The crowd watching the match on television went wild as all ten pins were scattered into space by Geno's perfect shot! Geno howled with joy as his robot fans gathered around and lifted him into the air, truly the true champion of Extreme Space Bowling!

As her opponent celebrated, Demi faded quietly into the background. Her time in the spotlight was now over, and she had a job to return to.

Geno: 26
Demi: 17

Luc (Suikos) Luc vs Naoto Shirogane Naoto Shirogane (Pers4)

superaielman

Luc looks and takes hits like a little girl. Naoto looks and takes hits like a teenage boy. Sort of. This is a massive improvement over Wind boy, who is known to die horribly when such fearsome fighters as Shiba attack him. A barrage of bullets and Hama magic will send this Emo suikoden reject home without a win.

Luc: 14
Naoto Shirogane: 20

Bowie (SF2) Bowie vs Delita Hyral Delita Hyral (FFT)

Dunefar
An idealistic hero, eh? What happened the last time Delita had to deal with an idealistic hero? Who ended up the Supreme Ruler of Ivalice, and who was DEAD? Hint: It wasn't Delita. Trips and plans and Holy Sword skills are enough to seal Bowie's fate.

Bowie: 12
Delita Hyral: 26

Hiro (Lunar2) Hiro vs Bosch Bosch (BoF5)

SageAcrin
Only a true guardian of justice could ever possibly overcome such a twisted work.

...

Wait, this isn't a protagonist battling an artist?

Well, who the hell cares then.

It'll all end the same anyways. If it didn't start the same.

Hiro: 17
Bosch: 9

Adell (Disgaea2) Adell vs Jennifer Jennifer (Disgaea)

Browbeat
Adell, the self-styled demon hunter with an oversized tie, finds himself pitted against the lovely assistant of The [37th]Defender of Earth! While Jennifer may appear to be a stereotypical bimbo attache, she does happen to have a stunning intellect to boot... Then again, she is able to use her considerable physical 'assets' as weapons, when pressed...

So, where does this put the match?

Supposing everything goes as planned, Adell's overwhelming offense, that outstrips even Jennifer's pugilistic prowess, is enough to carry the day in basic attacks. He can out-counter the girl, burying her in a landslide of hyphens. His bonus when fighting one-on-one means that unless Thursday sweeps in to assist (and in the DL, you never know...), Jennifer is going in solo. Lest we forget, Vulcan Blaze is as much an overpowered single-target eliminator attack as it is a wire-fu Super-Sentai-worthy acrobatic/pyrotechnic spectacle.

Oh, and Adell is a leading man, and Leading Man > Side-character

Now, I say 'supposing everything goes as planned' because there is a major flaw in this match-up.

Adell doesn't hit girls.

WHY NOT?!

Because... 'It's just not his style!'

In the interest of a good show, I volunteer we sweep this little tidbit under the rug, and watch the fists fly.

Adell: 30
Jennifer: 6

Mizuki (S4) Mizuki vs Amarant Coral Amarant Coral (FF9)

Dunefar

Ninja vs Ninja, eh? Mizuki wins for one reason - Amarant is a poser. He acts the part but he just kinda shuffles around. Meanwhile, Mizuki gets in place and lets rip the world's biggest backstab.

Mizuki: 28
Amarant Coral: 9

Jibril (SO2) Jibril vs Tio Tio (G2)

Starphoenix das Helpoemer
In reference to Jibril, I feel it is only appropriate to use this to express my feelings about his match up against Tio within the Middle bracket of the RPG Dueling League's current season:

Nom Nom Nom.

That is all.

Jibril: 23
Tio: 18

Yukiko Amagi (Pers4) Yukiko Amagi vs Halley Brancket Halley Brancket (SH1)

superaielman
Education has it's perks. Yukiko's a smart girl who payed attention in class, while Halley was a street rat. What does this mean!?!?

Absolutely nothing as Yukiko sets Halley on fire, then beats him to death with a fan for smelling like a Great War battlefield. EW. As if Miss Amagi would waste time in dealing with that wretch!

Yukiko Amagi: 23
Halley Brancket: 8

Vinsfeld Rhadamanthus (WA2) Vinsfeld Rhadamanthus vs Hervey Hervey (S4)

Dunefar
Pure ideas vs a pirate. Sure, pirates are cool, but come on. Pure ideas are pure corn and hash! Not even a pirate in lace and a puffy shirt can compete with that. So outgunned, Hervey is going to flee with his tail between his legs. What pirate can stand being outdone?

Vinsfeld Rhadamanthus: 25
Hervey: 8

Karn (BoF1) Karn vs Edward Damcyan Edward Damcyan (FF4)

superaielman
Karn prides himself on being one of the fastest in light. So when a flat footed bard challenged him to a footrace instead of a fight, he was more than willing to take that challenge.

Edward's appearance to fight with his allies again at the end of FF4a had granted him many things. One of those was a chance to train with everyone's favorite ninja prince, who just so happened to be one of the fastest in the land. Edward trained, and trained, and trained to get ready for his fight. He's still however Edward and doesn't get much faster. Edge just cuts to the chase and puts Karn to sleep, so the sedate Bard from Daymcan can walk to a win.

Karn: 20
Edward Damcyan: 26

Seth (FE8) Seth vs Serph Serph (DDS)

Gatewalker
Seth had fought demons before, so he figured he was in pretty good shape. After all, Serph was in Light, so how strong could he really be?

What Seth failed to take into account was that he was also ranked in Light. So it's entirely possible that the answer is 'strong enough'.

At least he can take some solace in the fact that less then fifteen seconds after the fight was over, Serph was splattered all over the arena by an angry Eirika.

The rest of the Embryon thought that she overreacted there. Old habits die hard, afterall. And Seth was only a *little* devoured...

Seth: 16
Serph: 23

Mogu (BoF1) Mogu vs Shiba Shiba (S3)

superaielman
The headlines for this fight are amazing. "Incompetent light demihuman allies to the Good Guys clash in a battle to see who can disgrace their home game first!" While Shiba lacks magical durability, damage and speed and even decent offense thanks to his heavy weapon, Mogu lacks all that and takes hits like... well, a three foot mole person. Mogu will be putting his Dig skill to good use here to avoid an ass kicking!

Mogu: 6
Shiba: 34
