Eldest son of the legendary Balbanes Beoulve, Dycedarg passed on the position the leadership of the Hokuten Knights to his younger brother Zalbag at his dying father's wishes. He also seemed to have passed whatever honor he ever had along with that position, participating in several conspiracies that his youngest brother Ramza found out when trying to rescue Princess Ovelia from forces attempting to kidnap her. Still, neither Ramza nor Zalbag had yet realized the full extent of his treachery and dishonor...

Nonetheless, what Dycedarg may lack in honor, he certainly makes up for in battle capabilities. Defense Up and Magic Defense Up bolster his otherwise question HP totals, while his mastery of both Holy Sword and Mighty Sword techniques give him plenty of firepower. Throw in some supplemental attack magic and Catch to handle any pesky Final Fantasy ninjas that he may encounter, and you get one of the most powerful duellers in all of Ivalice.
