Seed may know a little about backstabbing (just ask Luca Blight), but he's up against a master of the craft here. Dycedarg indirectly ordered the execution of his best friend's sister and hired an infamous Dark Knight to kill his brother - and that's the least of his impressive array of crimes. He's a master scout as well, and knows Seed's weak point - his appalling durability. Dycedarg can win this fight with a couple of quick Lightning Stabs, which will either kill or Silence the young general into oblivion. Getting the jump will be key, as will using his Aegis Shield's full evasion to avoid the worst of Seed's magical blitz - but he can manage. |

Seed and his opponent, Dycedarg Beoulve, have a lot in common. Superbly skilled swordsmen, high-ranking military officers, the whole nine yards. Though Seed was definitely a lot more loyal than Dycedarg, but with things as Byzantine as they were, you could hardly hold it against Dyce... well, maybe. Dycedarg's equipment breaking won't work on Seed, so it comes down to a good ol' fashioned slugfest. Mano a mano, sword to sword, power vs power. Seed is no slouch at that, and his Water Rune will certainly trouble Dycedarg in many ways. You can't count the Ivalician officer out, but maybe he should do the tactically prudent thing and bow out of a battle he won't win. |
hinode After a long, grueling fight, Seed managed to finish off Dycedarg. Unfortunately, the status screen clearly stated that his task was to defeat Dycedarg's _Elder Brother_, so he ended up losing on a technicality. Consequently, Dyce ended up moving on to the second round while Seed went off to set some FFT translators on fire. So they're both winners, in a sense. Dycedarg Beoulve: 25 |
