An anime's opening often consists of the animators doing their very best to pack everything awesome about their show into about a minute and a half. Sometimes it works. Often, it's cooler than the show is. Either way, it's time to give this delightful cultural artifact it's due - by objectifying it with a glorified popularity contest!

So here goes: please nominate up to 10 total anime opening or ending videos. use whatever criteria you want to pick 'em. Cool animation, nice tune, sheer trolling potential, whatever. The current plan is to segregate the openings and endings into separate brackets, and do brackets of 32, alternating by week or something depending on how big the pools for each turn out.

RahXephon - Hemisphere - Beautiful in every way.
Slayers Next - Give a Reason - Good 90s action~
Naruto - Haruka Kanata - Like the style of the art and how well it goes with the song
Serial Experiments Lain - Duvet - Chiaki Konaka fanboyism - Song is really haunting and memorable
Digimon Tamers - Biggest Dreamer - Chiaki Konaka fanboyism - I like the opening collage-in-motion thing and a few of the cuts are nicely done.
Chrono Crusade - Tsubasa wa Pleasure Line - has this one really good section right before the end that I always remember
Gad Guard - Boomerang Boogie - The art is just okay, but the song is so classy and sexy.
Noir - Copellia no Hisugi - Ali Project was actually doing some good things with dissonance here, unlike their current work. The Film noir art style really suits it.
Sorcerous Stabber Orphen - Ai Just on My Love - Holy crap, this show has no right to have such a great opening. High energy and jazzy~

Texhnoylyze (I would never hype listening to this outside of context, as I'm not a big fan of techno, but dang if it doesn't work at setting the tone.)
