Week 1 - Eliminations

Ryu (BoF3) Ryu vs Sierra Mikain Sierra Mikain (S2)

Taishyr
A dragon.
A vampire.
Two mythical beings of immense power.

---------------

"Give my boyfriend vampiric dragon powers and I'll set you up like a queen in the basement of the castle."
"... Hm, most tempting."
"You'll get a boy-harem."
"... deal."

---------------

Sure, he can't use them in a duel. But Vampire Kaiser? Be afraid, Godlike. Be very afraid.

Ryu: 38
Sierra Mikain: 8

Elc (AtLC) Elc vs Naoto Shirogane Naoto Shirogane (Pers4)

superaielman
Souji's reputation in the arena had already grown to legendary levels. When Elc found out that he was fighting a teenager from Inaba, he understandably panicked.

Then Elc looked closer and saw Naoto. A good belly laugh resulted, along with a quick victory over Miss Shirogane with Invinicble and spear beats. How in the hell -did- Naoto upgrade anyway?

Elc: 16
Naoto Shirogane: 11

Fereydoon (WA5) Fereydoon vs Dhaos Dhaos (ToP)

Dhyerwolf
You know that Chuck just followed Fereydoon around the arena, whining about how Fereydoon stole his girlfriend, Chuck will get revenge, etc? Well, Fereydoon finally cashed in on not blasting Chuck to smithereens in 6 seconds (After all, blowing up your girlfriend's ex is a pretty good way to start a fight if they are on friendly terms!).

Luckily for Fereydoon, Dhaos got so mad at Chuck trying to interrupt their match in order to fight the Veruni Sentinel mano a mano that he took care of Fereydoon's problem for him! Of course, Dhaos was so busy ripping Chuck's limbs off like an ant that he was caught totally unaware by Fereydoon's own limb-crushing attacks! Not only did Fereydoon get a win in his debut match, he also finally got rid of that pesky vermin. At least...until that pesky Rena and Jessica revive him in the DL hospital that is.

Fereydoon: 12
Dhaos: 9

X (MMXCM) X vs False Althena False Althena (Lunar2)

Sei
A hero to the core, X is used to insurmountable odds. While Ray is known to overkill PCs, X's indomitable will is one that goes against all logic. A single Ray may fry all his circuits beyond recognition, but it will not keep this robot down!

Two Rays now... Two Rays may be a problem.

X: 8
False Althena: 22

Saturos (GS) Saturos vs Ho-Oh Ho-Oh (PKMN)

Sir Donald
"King's Bishop to QB4."

"Chess? They're two fire wielders, and they're playing Chess instead of battling?" To say that Garet was displeased would be an understatement.

"Actually this may end quicker than an actual battle," observed his companion Ivan. "I mean, they're resistant to the other's best damage, their alternates are nothing to write about, and they both have healing."

"But I want to see some action! I want to see an Inferno!" Unfortunately, Garet was gesturing at the arena at that time and when he said Inferno, psynergy leaped from his fingers at the assembled chessboard.

Standing roughly between Garet and the board, and getting the full blast, was the observer for the match, Mallow.

As the rain came down throughout the arena, their other companion, Isaac, facepalmed. Ivan sympathized, "No, we can't take Garet anywhere."

"I'm right here, you know!"

As for the chess match, Ho-oh eventually won, taking a total of one hour and twenty minutes.

By contrast, an actual battle would have taken one hour and twenty one minutes.

Saturos: 18
Ho-Oh: 21

Edge Eblan (FF4) Edge Eblan vs Debonair Debonair (OB)

Taishyr

Debonair woke up bound hand and foot in a prison cell.

This was a somewhat new and interesting change of situations, as usually he was the one saving dashing princesses from such predicaments. Still, Debonair relished a change of pace, and decided to try and see how this worked out.

His patience lasted all of ten minutes before he started hollering for someone to release him instead. Sadly, waiting and yelling seemed to have the exact same result, so he settled himself in for a wait.

And waited - before feeling a soft touch on his neck...

-----------------

"So, Edge. You can deliver Debonair to my castle?" Nina the Third asked casually.

"Yes, ma'am. Thanks for offering to detain him during the period for the match." Edge replied.

"Oh, no worries. I have my uses for him." Nina giggled, before walking away....

Edge Eblan: 29
Debonair: 8

Emelia (Saga) Emelia vs Nina Wyndia Nina Wyndia (BoF4)

Taishyr
Bullets flew everywhere! The shots rang throughout the arena, before...

"Okay, okay! I get the damn point! I can't shoot you through a wall of wind!" Emelia cursed, dropping his weapons as Nina the Fourth half-smiled.

"It was a good try, though?" the winged princess offered, causing Emelia to shoot her a glare as she stalked out.

Emelia: 11
Nina Wyndia: 30

Kasumi (Suikos) Kasumi vs Zelos Wilder Zelos Wilder (ToS)

Gatewalker
So does anyone actually think that Zelos could let an opportunity to hit on the ladies go by without even taking a swing?

Actually, yes. Unlike some of the other perverts around here, Zelos does occasionally know when to knock it off and get down to business.

On the other hand, there are times when he should know better but just can't help himself anyway. Namely when being egged on by his friend and rival, Edge Eblan.

The contest was simple. The first one between the two of them to get a kiss from a lady this season wins. Zelos knew Edge, he knew he was being set up for something, but he just couldn't let the challenge go unmet.

So come time for his first match, Zelos decided to take a gamble. Striding confidently up to his opponent, he swept the lady ninja off her feet and kissed her deeply, right there in the middle of the arena.

Kasumi, stunned by the sheer audacity of the maneuver, was caught quite off guard and actually let him get in a fairly long kiss before she could manage to respond.

Roughly three seconds after she got ahold of herself, Zelos's head was buried in the concrete floor as the result of the most furious Shrike Rune powered ninja suplex the world had ever seen.

But hey, at least he won the contest with Edge, right?

Kasumi: 17
Zelos Wilder: 16

Ryudo (G2) Ryudo vs Maya Maya (LoL2)

superaielman
Ryudo specializes in putting young women in their place and high grade physical attacks, both of which are of great use against Maya. The impressionable young lass is perky, sweet, and had no real love interest.

Five minutes of Ryudo's best quotes worked their magic, as she left the arena giggling in his arms. Of course, then Ryudo ran into Millenia and Elena and got pummeled, but that's a small price to pay for a win.

Ryudo: 18
Maya: 12

Miakis (S5) Miakis vs Luna Luna (Lunar1)

superaielman

The best asset any Queen's Knight isn't their body, nor is it their battle training. No, it's the mind and everything you can do it. Letting Luna assume the full powers of Althena is INSANITY on paper, and a sure way to die horribly unless you're Ghaleon or Alex. Miakis had done her research. Some hot hot hot Kyle on Kyle talk in a bar revealed that while Luna's powers were deadly, her dress was... not suitable to combat.

Luna assumed the full powers of Althena and was ready to slaughter anything in front of her. Too bad that Miakis attacked from behind and turned the Goddess into an underdressed pincushion in a matter of seconds.

Miakis: 25
Luna: 13

Elly van Houten (XG) Elly van Houten vs Yukiko Amagi Yukiko Amagi (Pers4)

superaielman
In Yukiko's case, it's a world of concussions. Elly's Lunar Rod knocked the Middle champion into dream land with a hit, and Miss Amagi didn't wake up until after Elly had beaten her into an ugly loss.

On the bright side, Yukiko can always go send Naoto to kick Fei's ass for revenge!

Elly van Houten: 23
Yukiko Amagi: 9

Rikku (FFX) Rikku vs Nightburn Acklund Nightburn Acklund (WA5)

Bardiche
This is a fight between two polar opposites.

One of these is a young girl, with a positive outlook on life, a happy-go-lucky personality and the carefree attitude that goes with her free-spirited lifestyle.

The other is a middle-aged, heroic man. He's looked up to and well respected for his inspiring and motivational presence, a true paragon and hero to the human race.

So while Rikku has all the time in the world to go hang around in some airship and scoop off saving the world from disasterific things to occur, Nightburn actually has responsibilities with the TV Station, the human race and ensuring everyone on Filgaia has an icon to look up to and believe in.

Nightburn never really had any time to attend the match, as something came up which Duo assured had real priority over winning the title to further inspire Filgaia. No one ever claimed the life of an adult's about roses; Rikku may have won now, but wait until she gets hit with responsibility as well.

Rikku: 16
Nightburn Acklund: 11

Opera Vectra (SO2) Opera Vectra vs Ramus Farmain Ramus Farmain (Lunar1)

Gatewalker
Come on, it's Ramus. This is like shooting fish in a barrel here.

Only in this case it's a particularly slow and fat fish in a very small barrel.

Being shot at with giant lasers instead of normal bullets.

This...is not pretty.

Opera Vectra: 42
Ramus Farmain: 1

Cid (FF4) Cid vs Miluda Folles Miluda Folles (FFT)

DragonKnight Zero

It's the special skills that will make all the difference here. Yes, the ones that don;t do damage as it's a straightforward brawl without them.

Cid's Peep lets him gauge the strength and weaknesses of his opponent. It's a low-level white mage spell which most of them know. While there's potential to discover embarrassing secrets of the target, there's no direct effect on the target's fighting ability.

Miluda's Break skills are just as generic, possessed by Knights all around and outclassed by Divine Knights. Breaking weapons, however, has a very direct effect on an opponent's ability to fight if the opponent is reliant upon weapons.

Wiegraf's sister will be taking care of herself just fine.

Cid: 17
Miluda Folles: 34

Leena (CC) Leena vs Flonne Flonne (Disgaea)

Ageant
The sad part is that no matter if she wins or not, Flonne will never beat Leena in the realm of cup sizes.

Leena: 25
Flonne: 17

Augst Henriksen (WA4) Augst Henriksen vs Zhuzhen Liu Zhuzhen Liu (SH1)

Taishyr
"You know." Zhuzhen said conversationally as the monstrous, anchored form of Augst. "There's a cure for body fungus. But I suppose that's neither here nor there right now?" With that, he muttered a few words... and beeped Augst in what passed for his nose with his cane.

A glowing, red light appeared, engulfing the battlefield... and Augst in his human form stood there, dazed. "Wait, you can reverse that without killing me and resurrecting me? Huh."

Zhuzhen smiled. "Of course. I am a master exorcist, after all."

"Oh, that's good. I've been getting flabby - could use the exercise." Augst noted dryly, causing Zhuzhen to start laughing. Augst's eyes widened. "-And- you laugh at my jokes? This could be the start of a great friendship..."

Augst Henriksen: 8
Zhuzhen Liu: 25
