Week 1 - Eliminations

Myria (BoFs) Myria vs Kuja Kuja (FF9)

Barubary
Everyons favorite mad god returns

This time she turns her eyes on first time champion Kuja who begins praying that his organs aren't used to sufficate him to death in the insulting blood bath

Myria: 44
Kuja: 18

Jecht (FFX) Jecht vs Eirika Eirika (FE8)

Meeplelard
Look, lets be blunt here.

Jecht is this big, manly, buff celebrity, who walks around without a shirt on and is proud of it. Considering how popular his much less manly, less experienced son was with the ladies, Jecht must have been some sort of pimp god in Zanarkand.

Eirika is a young girl, just starting her adult years.

I don't think I need to say anything else.

Jecht: 51
Eirika: 14

Rubicant (FF4) Rubicant vs Lenneth Valkyrie Lenneth Valkyrie (VPs)

Dunefar
To everyone's surprise, it wasn't Odin, Freya or Thor that survived the flames of Ragnarok. It was a mere death goddess that endured the flames and defeated Loki. So how can the flames of a mere Archfiend singe Lenneth? Well, just make the fire hotter and hotter and hotter. Not even a Goddess can take Rubicant's burning Glare...after all, even if that fails, there's still the legs. NOTHING beats the legs of Rubicant. Ever.

The end.

Rubicant: 40
Lenneth Valkyrie: 34

Necrosaro (DW4) Necrosaro vs Emelious de Pamela Emelious de Pamela (G3)

Dunefar
Necrosaro had his beloved Ro-WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT SUFFERING? YOU KNOW NOTHING!!!! NO ONE'S SUFFERING IS WORSE THAN MINE!!!! YOU THINK YOU'VE HAD A HARD LIFE! MINE IS WAY WORSE!!!!!!!! IT'S NOT FAIR! NOTHING'S FAIR, AND IT'S NOT FAIR THAT YOU GOT A GIRLFRIEND! I WON'T STAND IT!

...yeah, something like that...Poor Necrosaro, not even the power of evolution can withstand a lifetime of pure, built up emo-angst.

Necrosaro: 7
Emelious de Pamela: 29

Red (Saga) Red vs Margulis Margulis (XS)

superaielman
For all of Margulis's power and pompus speeches, he has one.. tiny.. microscopic even.. flaw in combat. He has to take damage to unlock his good moves. His battle with Red was back and forth. A Rakta knocked Red to his knees, near death. The Ormus inquistor hadn't lost more than half his life and was ready to end his fight with Red. He was right in a way. His battle with Red -was- over. A flash of light and a quick spin was Alkaiser's entrance, a Re-Al-Phoenix that knocked Margulis off his feet introduced his powers.

Not that Margulis was in much shape to appreciate them or the rain of blows that quickly pummeled him into submission.

Red: 35
Margulis: 12

Kyra Tierny (PS4) Kyra Tierny vs Lazlo Lazlo (S4)

superaielman
Kyra doesn't rely on instant death the way the rest of her castmates do, instead using defensive skills and healing to see her through. Her abilities scare even some of the true powerhouses of this field- all of whom rely on physicals, which Warla shuts down so well.

It's just her luck that she draws someone who is entirely reliant on Instant Death to win his fights. It's worse luck that the last thing she seese before collasping is his hideous shorts. Poor Kyra.

Kyra Tierny: 7
Lazlo: 35

Marivel Armitage (WA2) Marivel Armitage vs Emeralda Emeralda (XG)

SageAcrin
A vampire against a machinery construct?

Of course, Marivel was no ordinary vampire. Blood sucking is not her only skill!

Her arsenal of skills include A MIGHTY GUILLOTI-...

...

Wait, she's against someone that reforms parts of their body and can't have their head cut off as such?

....*Leafs through a page of skills.*

...Well, she's not an ordinary vampire.

Her useful skills consist of sucking blood and cutting off heads, and that's about it.

Sometimes, you just get walled.

Marivel Armitage: 20
Emeralda: 30

Todd Dukakis (WA3) Todd Dukakis vs T260G T260G (Saga)

superaielman
"V-MAX. CHECK. HYPERION BAZOOKA. CHECK. POWERED SUITS. CHECK. INBREDIATED HUMAN BACKUP. CHECK."

"Gen's my name. Why are you draggin me out of bed at this time of the day, anyway? Don't you have a fight?" *Grumble*

"NEGATIVE. TODD WAS DISPOSED OF ALREADY. HIS COMBAT READINESS WAS SO LOW THAT HE FLED THE BATTLE AS SOON AS IT WAS ENGAGED."

"Then what are you so heavily armed for?

"SHION UZUKI INFORMED ME THAT I WOULD BE MORE POPULAR IF I WERE TO MODEL MY EXTERIOR LIKE THAT OF KOS-MOS. SHE MUST BE PURGED."

"..Why didn't you say so? Lemme go grab my sword, we have some skulls to go crack and a skank to track down."

Todd Dukakis: 13
T260G: 33

Menardi (GS) Menardi vs Norris Norris (CC)

Meeplelard
...well, even if its not Godlike, Menardi had to run into SOMEONE who eventually would die to simple Death Scythe spam. It just took her to face someone in middle for it to finally happen again.

Menardi: 37
Norris: 13

alanna82
Hey, Menardi gets a win!

Lucca Ashtear (CT) Lucca Ashtear vs Legault Legault (FE7)

superaielman
The former Black Fang has many talents. Combat, theft, excellent overall scouting skills.

But what about rock star?. With the disbanding of BITGOYSWB, there is a void in the DL, ready to be filled by any who has the talent.. the gusto.. the ability to connect with a crowd and spin out really loud, angry music. A man of true talent.

That man is not Seifer, who having not failed for more than long enough decided to step up and form a solo grunge banjo band. Amazingly this netted him one fangirl- Lucca, who had a crippling weakness for banjo wielding losers. When the duelling league proper was informed of this defilement of existance, Legault was dispatched with the blessings of pretty much everyone to exteriminate the problem with whatever means he saw fit.

Of course, getting to borrow the Glance Reviver for the job meant that the DL would prefer a more.. bloody.. end to the solution, which Legault was more than happy to provide.

Lucca Ashtear: 27
Legault: 45

Locke Cole (FF6) Locke Cole vs Yangus Yangus (DQ8)

Dunefar
What is it like to get your Valiant Knife Cor Blimeyed the wrong way, Locke? Ouch. That's about what happens, since not even thievery can keep up with Yangus wailing the crap outta Locke.

Locke Cole: 26
Yangus: 41

Levi (S5) Levi vs Ulf Ulf (G3)

SageAcrin
A wise man once said, "Discretion is the better part of valor.".

Words Levi took to heart strongly. He was no fool. He understood his principles of war.

Specifically, he knew that the closest principle was about to blast him into the stratosphere with a flail.

So, he did the simple thing.

---

"Yeah, my master said you had this great technique that you could show me! That it was like magic, but that I'd actually be able to use it! C'mon, c'mon, show me, please!?" Bergen said anxiously to a puzzled Ulf.

Evidently, Levi had cleared the substitution with the judges. It was all very proper.

"Well, if he really want to see it..." Ulf shrugged.

One Dynamite Rush later, and a stunned Bergen was laid out.

Overall, the match worked out pretty well. Levi got out of personal harm. Ulf got out of personal harm. Bergen took the move's name a little too seriously and is now using the power of dynamite combined with rushes to produce spectacular, if painful, "magic". Everyone wins.

Levi: 16
Ulf: 26

Zoah (CC) Zoah vs Brey Brey (DW4)

SageAcrin
Brey'd had enough of using his friends for help.

Edge and Yuri and Lexis were fairly useful, but he could fight one lousy battle on his own, against a muscle bound oaf like Zoah. Heck, he couldn't even speak in a normal tone of voice. What could he possibly do against a man of such incredible magical and mental prowess as himself?

---

"Annnnnnd this is why you ask us for help, Brey." Yuri grunted, as he attempted to pull Brey from the floor.

"...yes, yes, I know, I know." Brey sighed. "At least I got to see Lexis wing him with the Creamonade right after."

"Yeah, but now I have to pull him out, too, and I'm probably going to have to transform for that." Yuri sighed, and yanked on Brey's shoulders harder. "All that's left sticking out for him is that helmet..."

Zoah: 37
Brey: 8

Anuer
ZOAH IS TOO MANLY TO LOSE TO ANYONE.

Mustadio Bunanza (FFT) Mustadio Bunanza vs Sneff Sneff (CC)

Taishyr
Cosplay contest.

Yes, the match was settled by the two characters dressing up as someone else. Of course, they decided to take some ideas from this whole "Earth" universe they'd heard a bit about.

Mustadio made a dashing Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, it had to be admitted (or so Ursula stated). However, Sneff, always one for one-uppance, decided to go for Zuo Ci imitation, which got the Old Man fanclub up and roaring.

The match was almost decided in Sneff's favor (after all, who can resist an old man who tormented a warlord to madness?) when the real Zuo Ci teleported in, grabbed Sneff by the neck, and disappeared.

By default, the match went to Mustadio.

Mustadio Bunanza: 43
Sneff: 26

Meeplelard
Have you ever seen what happens when a washed up retired Stage Magician who fights with the power of magic cards goes up to some kid with a gun?

No? Well, ok, its not something you're likely to see like...ever.

But the result is pretty easy to imagine.

Ramus Farmain (Lunar1) Ramus Farmain vs Lucied Lucied (WAs)

Hunter Sopko
RamusCo prided itself on it's wide selection of dog food. Ramus never imagined that he would end up BEING dog food, though. But he's never without a plan! It took a bit of negotiating to get out of the match without being mauled, but in exchange for Ramus escaping the match unharmed, Lucied became the new spokesdog for RamusCo Puppy Chow.

Why would Lucied do this you may ask? He IS the Guardian of Desire, afterall. And Lucied desired a four-story, jewel encrusted doghouse with a walk-in fridge.

Ramus Farmain: 8
Lucied: 53

Lyseria (VP1) Lyseria vs Yukimaru Yukimaru (Disgaea2)

Lezard Valeth
Yukimaru Vs Lyseria is best describe as nimble ninja Vs slow mage. No rocket scientist is needed to do the math.

Lyseria: 2
Yukimaru: 41

Ayra
Maybe if a VP1 mage ever fights Yogurt, I could finally put a genuine vote on the mage in good concience. Maybe.
