Week 1 - Eliminations

Sephiroth (FF7) Sephiroth vs Ness Ness (EB)

MeepleLard
See, Sephiroth keeps fighting PCs with Higher HP, thinking omre HP = better chance. First KOS MOS, then Citan, now Ness. They keep forgetting one thing. For battles Shadow Flare probably won't win against PCs, Pale Horse will. Ness is a prime example of that.

Sephiroth: 10
Ness: 1

Jowy Atreides (S2) Jowy Atreides vs Ryu Ryu (BoF3)

MeepleLard
Jowy has a Hungry Fiend
Ryu3 IS a Hungry Dragon
Things I've learned from the BoF series is that Dragons > Fiends, therefore, by definition, Dragons are higher on the Food Chain than Fiends are, so Ryu3 claims Jowy and his Rune as his next meal.

Jowy Atreides: 2
Ryu: 8

Luca Blight (S2) Luca Blight vs Zio Zio (PS4)

Dark Holy Elf
Zio stood menacingly. "You're no match for me in combat, Prince Blight," he said, laughing. "You fancy yourself quite the killer, no doubt, with your pitiful... pork-related one-liner, but you're nothing compared to me."

"Lies!" replied Luca. "I've killed thousands... THOUSANDS of men! How dare you tarnish my name, you wretched maggot?"

"Your kills were meaningless," said Zio simply. "Do think about it. Can you name a man you struck down?"

"I had my father-"

"Killed by poison, I know. OOH, big man. Who have you struck down with your own power, pig-slayer?"

Luca was silent.

"Pohl. And that's... it. Some murderer you are," sneered Zio. "Oh, and you almost killed a little girl, but got stopped by a pair of runeless boys. How utterly pathetic. You couldn't even down a single playable character! You may have killed thousands, but you got nobody who mattered. So. Still think you have a chance against me?"

Luca shook with rage. "DIE, PIG!" And he charged.

"... that won't work in this division," said Zio, firing off a Black Wave. Then another. And another. And another.

"Better luck next time, wretch," said Zio, as his opponent collapsed. "Do try to learn to kill things with more skill than pigs before we meet again." He turned, cape fluttering, and walked out of the arena to await his next match.

Luca Blight: 3
Zio: 6

MeepleLard
Zio has Black Wave, that's nice. Luca Blight halves all Damage and gets 3 turns per every PC's one. Those are 2 nice things. 2 Nice things > 1 Nice thing, so...poor Zio indead.

Geshp (SF2) Geshp vs Fou-Lu Fou-Lu (BoF4)

Super
A greater devil is a creature of immense power and evil, who can slaughter most anyone in his way. However, a Dragon god makes a greater devil look like a bug. And much like a bug, Geshp's going to be crushed, via Dark Wave.

Geshp: 0
Fou-Lu: 5

Justin (G1) Justin vs Crono Crono (CT)

Dark Holy Elf
Justin was so excited! Crono was a legendary; he had travelled through TIME! That had to be like the most exciting adventure EVER! And he was meeting Crono for the first time ever in the arena! How odd that Crono wasn't replying to all his polite queries about all the time-travelling adventure he'd gone on. In fact, he was speaking surprisingly little, and instead casting some odd lightning spell. Ooh! A pretty green dome! Crono had the coolest spell animations ever. Wait, why was Justin in pain? It didn't make sense. And why was Crono using the same spell again? People in the RPGDL sure were mean-spirited. What a disappointment!

Justin: 4
Crono: 6

Super
The pride and joy of New Parm has a chance to redeem himself after his fall from grace (and godlike), this season. His opponent is known as the Silent Death, which shouldn't bother the mouthy Justin. Justin easily gives up the speed advantage to Crono, but that isn't a problem. Justin's Midair Cut can easily keep up with whatever Crono puts out, and Heaven and Earth cut is a brutal end to any fight.

Celes Chere (FF6) Celes Chere vs Poo Poo (EB)

Pipe Dreamer
Poo knew that the only way he could possibly win was to confuse Celes with a quick opening Brainshock. So the moment the battle began, he mentally stuck a finger into Celes's brain and swirled around. Content that he had destroyed the last ounce of Celes's sanity, he finished the PSI and waited for victory.

Now, children, what happens when Imperial Generals become insane?

Poo didn't know what. But he was about to, after seeing Celes morph into a vaguely angelic figure with an odd resemblance to a certain Season 1 Godlike semifinalist...

Celes Chere: 6
Poo: 4

MeepleLard
Poo can blast CEles with...something which she will survive. Celes can Beserk Poo, and unfortunatly, with 150% chance hit rate, even with all that Luck, it doesn't do anything to a spell that's reliant totally on M. Block to dodge. And in war, who fights? The GEneral or the Prince? I believe the very existance of a General proves that Princes aren't that much of fighters...even ones with Spiritual Fullfillement who can blast people with Stars many times...

Lede (FFT) Lede vs Jean Jean (Lunar2)

Dark Holy Elf
Lede has this. It's just a matter of whether or not she decides to put on a show for the crowd, and uses Allure on Jean...

Lede: 8
Jean: 1

Nina Wyndia (BoF1) Nina Wyndia vs Elmdor, Mesdoram Elmdor, Mesdoram (FFT)

Super
Nina stood proud against the Silver Ogre. With her vast array of heal spells, stat uppers, and status attacks, she has nothing to fear from Elmdor.. except for one tiny move, that was Lucavi's gift to fallen Arc Knights.

.....

Nina's cold body dropped to the floor, with a tiny pair of holes in her neck. Elmdor walked out of the arena, smiling. Talk about an easy win..

Nina Wyndia: 2
Elmdor, Mesdoram: 7

Izlude Tingel (FFT) Izlude Tingel vs Katt Katt (BoF2)

Super
I like Katt, but she'll never win a melee battle against someone who can take a hit. Not only can Izlude take one of her hits, he can return fire on the same shot with counter. Throw in his accurate weapon break, and you have a fairly simple win for the Knight Blade.

Izlude Tingel: 6
Katt: 4

Kyle (Lunar1) Kyle vs Garnet til Alexandros Garnet til Alexandros (FF9)

MeepleLard
Good Luck picking up your sword Kyle when Garnet makes you a tiny little thing for Bahamut to go Squishy with :P

Kyle: 1
Garnet til Alexandros: 9

Flea (CT) Flea vs Wakaba Wakaba (S2)

Elfboy
Waltz of the Wind makes Wakaba weak and weeping over her woes in this week's match with the woman who is not a woman.

Flea: 7
Wakaba: 3

Ivan (GS) Ivan vs Rassius Luine Rassius Luine (ToE)

RC
Ras has a cool hat. End of story.

Ivan: 1
Rassius Luine: 4

Bowser Koopa (SMRPG) Bowser Koopa vs Jacques Jacques (S3)

Elfboy
Jacques was ready for anything in his match with Bowser this week. Terrorise, Poison, anything... except the 0LD SK00L Bowser butt-stomp!

Bowser Koopa: 9
Jacques: 2

Gremio (S1) Gremio vs Solt Solt (CC)

MeepleLard
Solt is also a food Product, as we know, evne if Spelt wrong. Gremio is a Cook, a good one at that. Gremio simply just grabs Solt and uses him as one of his ingredients in his next recipe:
Victory ala Light Match.
He's still working on the name, give him credit!

Gremio: 8
Solt: 3

Vincent DeBoule (S2) Vincent DeBoule vs Rufus Shinra Rufus Shinra (FF7)

Elfboy
1. Hire many high-priced lawyers.
2. Have said lawyers convince RPGDL judges that the Sister Ray counts as legal equipment.
3. Construct version of the Sister Ray for use in an open air arena.
4. Wait for opponent to arrive at scheduled time.
4a. If opponent arrives, fire Sister Ray. Win.
4b. If opponent does not arrive, win by default. Save money, and use it to expand corporate empire. Have a celebratory latte.

Vincent DeBoule: 3
Rufus Shinra: 6

Miranda (LoD) Miranda vs Gorudo Gorudo (S2)

Dark Holy Elf
Gorudo remembers being hit by an uber-powerful Holy-typed spell before. He does not relish living the experience again. Thus, he didn't even heed the RPGDL's summons, explaining that he was 'looking out for Matilda'. It's not like he would ever do anything cowardly, right?

Miranda: 7
Gorudo: 0

Blue vs Teta
vs
~metroid composite

Genocide Heart
Teta's dead corpse falls from a window and hits Blue over the head, and KOs him.

Blue: 4
Teta: 5

Meeple
Algus, seeing Teta alive, shoots at her, but Delita Stops him, thwarts his aim, and he hits Blue instead, killing him.
