Season 8, Week 1
Bart Fatima
(Xenogears)

The one-eyed King of Aveh's debut opponent is every warrior's favorite punching bag: a Suikoden mage. The fact that said mage is something of a legend in his own world is unlikely to faze Bart--he's never been one to hesitate before charging into a battle. As Bart's own low magic defense could be a liability in a prolonged fight, his best bet is to launch into an all-out physical assault right off the bat without wasting time on his ethers, which hardly affect magic-using opponents. Ready to strike a blow for blue-eyed, blond-haired monarchs everywhere, Bart's strategy is simple and straightforward: whip it!

Reported to have embedded over 100 runes into his body, Crowley is the greatest of any non-True Rune mage in the entire Suikoverse. That power will see him in good standing against the king of Aveh this week, as his foe is notoriously bad at taking magical hits. Indeed, so good is this matchup, that Crowley likely won't need anything more than his Cyclone Rune which combines full healing with good damage in Shining Wind, and still has the most powerful version of The Shredding as a level 1 spell in case that isn't enough. Bart will be attempting to silence his critics here, but odds are that the archmage will simply blow the boy-king away.

Grefter
Bart went into the ring trading blow for blow with Crowley strongly wondering why he could not take down this mage as they are normally rather fragile. Now normally a duellist will do some research into his opponent, however Bart lacks both the insight and the intellect to do so. The only way Bart stands a chance at living past the second or so Shining Wind is if Crowley decides to toy with his pathetic opponent and cast Healing Winds on him to further mock this fool. When it comes down to it Crowley may have 100 runes on him, but he only needs one to make short work of Bart Fatima.
