Gilbert has had twenty seasons to plan a triumphant return to the arena, and with his cunning wit, you know that he’s used that time to plan nearly unfoilable plots to ensure that he reaches the top of the heap this season. Granted, he may not have to unveil these plots against Jecht. While the blitzball king may have a durability edge, Gilbert’s notably superior damage and his immunity to Stone and Delay and should mean that he should have the upper hand; especially since he can always finish off the match with an explosive combo attack. Once he gets going, Gilbert is even surprisingly fast due to having excellent recharge times on his attacks. After such a long hiatus, he’s ready to prove just how powerful he truly is. |

Sobriety's overrated, all things *hic* considered, yanno? Jecht's the best, no matter what shape he shows up in! Jecht takes being in Godlike very seriously, though. Veeeeeery seriously. Srsly. So seriously that he'll skip the double of Jack, the shot of rum, and even forsake the six pack before the fight - though he'll still down the vodka *hic*. Just to give his opponent the delusion of a chance at beating him and all. Jecht has the strength of a god and the durability to match it. *hic!* You think he'll be afraid of some little penguin man's attempts to out-mojo him? HA. Jecht'll drop this Batman villain reject with a shot of Triumphant Grasp, let the cameras take a shot, then go to take a shot. It's good to be the best. |
Bardiche In true Godlike tradition, the match was not fought out with actual battle. Instead, a game was proposed. Pulled out of a somehow very spiteful Hat, the sport was decided to be Blitzball. Everyone had already resigned themselves to a Jecht victory, as Blitzball was what he did best. Yeah, no one really saw it coming when Gilbert turned out to be super talented at it and beat Jecht at his own game. In fact, the crowd was left stunned.
