Season 22, Week 5
Kratos Aurion
(Tales of Symphonia)

Mercenary. Traitor. Conquerer. Gourmet Master. Kratos has been it all, and now, he's going to try to add a more impressive title to his list: Champion. His opponent may be good at evasion and taking magic, but ultimately, it doesn't matter; Kratos doesn't rely on Judgement alone, after all. He only needs one lucky chain of blows to down the frail mage, and he'll get it. His high durability and powerful techniques will see to it, after all...and if they don't? Well, Kratos has more than a few tricks up his sleeves, and certainly doesn't care about breaking a few rules to win his rightful title...

And thus, a championship awaits for Lulu, the guardian of a legend. But first, she has one final task, and it will not be an easy one. Kratos Aurion is known for his ability to strike weaknesses against human flesh, making him an opponent to be feared. Thankfully for our black magess, Lulu not only has amazing damage, but lots of evasion as well. Considering Kratos' healing and magical abilities are distinctly unimpressive, whereas Lulu can easily just blast Kratos into oblivion with a doublecasted Flare, and the guardian may well find herself up in the Godlike, where her superior resides.

Lulu has an easy win here, but not for the reasons you expect. Nope, it's not Flare, or Death, or her... assets that take the day this week. Instead, it's her friendship with Tidus.
Now, you're almost certainly asking what that has to do with anything. Well, see, it turns out Tidus can pull off a mean Yggdrasil impersonation. And as we all know, Kratos takes an awful lot of convincing to ignore what Yggdrasil asks of him, meaning that even if Kratos eventually shrugs it off, Lulu's had ample time to capitalize and finish her opponent off.
No one ever said winning was an honest business, I guess.
