Season 54, Week 1
Marcy
(Chrono Cross)

The youngest of the Devas will need all of her might this season. She doesn't open with some weak Middle, no, this 'lucky' girl gets to battle with Kanji. While Marcy's no match in the strength or toughness department, she's far quicker and is a veteran of the arena. Kanji's inexperience will play well into Marcy's hands as this crafty girl has both a long history with the Dragoons and has been ranked since the very beginning of the DL proper. She's seen every trick there is and knows precisely what it takes to win: a driving will, and exploitation the weakness of her foes. Her icy skills are going to be put to good use as Marcy tries to freeze Kanji out of the arena before he knows what hit him!

C'mon down! The toughest nut to crack in Inaba brings his table – literally – and guts to the Duelling League, and he's not leaving without a good ol' brawl! Granted, beating up on a little girl isn't exactly a good brawl, and Kanji feels kinda bad for bashing kids... But then, this Marcy looks like a demon child ready to punch him in the face, so table to the head she gets. With his tough build and massive power swings (oh, and his persona Rokuten Maoh for added punch), Kanji is playing the kind of game he likes this time around. After all, Marcy herself isn't very tough and she takes hits like the small kid she is. This may be sorta cruel, but Kanji's renovation of asses ain't going to be very selective.

Kanji's a brawler of the old school. From the old school punk outfit, to using a bloody desk as a weapon, to being as a tough as nails, he is not someone you want to pick a fight with. Marcy's a Deva. Yes, the same group of Devas that spawned such fantastic fighters as Dario and Zoah. Marcy may stand a chance if she got the boys together to try and jump Kanji, but by herself? She'll be lucky to hear anything at all once Kanji screams "PERSONA!" and hits her with enough force to make her think that Chrono Cross plot makes sense.
