Season 43, Week 1
Tear Grants
(Tales of the Abyss)

Auldrant has its share of problems, but demons have never been among them. So while she's got plenty of experience fighting monsters, rogue generals and rampaging evil schoolteachers, Tear's in untested waters facing off against Argilla. Well, it's not like she's totally in the dark - conventional wisdom on the subject is widely available. Demons are traditionally vulnerable to Holy or Light aligned spells, and Argilla's no exception. Of course, Tear has those in abundance, and enough healing to deal with the Earth magic Argilla relies on for damage. All in all, this fight is nothing Tear can't handle. The only part that's going to leave a lasting impression is the demon's face, and she can deal with those nightmares later.

Argilla may at first appear to be a gentle-souled healer, but within her there is a demon that demands blood. The flesh-hungering Atma have already propelled Gale to success, and try as she might, Argilla can not hold back her hunger. Her first battle against Tear will not be a short one, but Argilla is used to dealing with difficult fights. Both combatants have healing, magic damage, magical resistance and even some status, but Argilla is the only one that resists status. Her confusion and sleep spells may not be the most accurate, but Argilla has nearly all the time in the world to get them to hit. If that doesn’t work, her damage and healing are still far cheaper, denying Tear any option of outlasting the Atma demon.

Tear may have won, but the nightmares of having fanged breasts and tentacles assault her will never fade.

Meanwhile, Argilla wonders why Tear reacted so strangely to getting shot in the face. Babbling, confusion, randomly using Prism Sword to finish Argilla off... Must have been brain damage.

Oh well, at least Argilla didn't give perverts tentacle rape fantasies just this once, by fighting in her human form.

No, just Tear.
