Season 9, Week 1
Leon Geeste
(Star Ocean: The Second Story)

Leon Geeste bested one Suikoden 3 fighter before, and he's ready to do it again. Though Jacques is a far tougher fight than Guillame can ever hope to be, the same tactics should apply: a couple Protections, Haste, and then a magical beatdown with Gremlin Lair, Daemon's Gate, or even Extinction. While Leon isn't extremely durable, Jacques isn't much of a fighter even by Light standards either, so the Felpoolian should easily cruise into the quarterfinals.

Mercenary archer Jacques returns to the arena, intent on picking up his first RPGDL win. In order to get revenge upon Bowser, the person who bested him in season 4, Jacques will first have to get past the young mage Leon. And he's in a good position to do so. With two shots a turn from his heavy crossbow and an excellent critical hit rate, Jacques possesses the most devastating physical attack in the twelth Harmonian South Frontier Defence Force, which is more than enough to send Leon and his weak magicks packing.

The match seemed started well enough. With his usual non-chalance, Jacques entered the arena and leaned against the wall, waiting for the match to start.
This calm was pierced by a shrill whine, and the spectators from Expel shook their heads, remembering who the archer's opponent was.
"But WHY do I have to fight this guy? He's from a cast of 108, so he can't possibly be noteworthy. And he hardly talks, so he can't be entertaining. And he's an ARCHER. The worst of the worst for fighters! I don't wanna!! This is hardly worthy of me!"
Jacques shruged the insult off. The match started, but Leon was too busy complaining to notice. He lowered his bow-gun and took aim. He fired.
As Jacques arrow struck home, Leon instantly crumpled. Declared the winner, Jacques silently wandered off.
It was some time before anyone noticed that Leon was covered in considerably more arrows than Jacques had fired, each belonging to a different Duelling League archer.
That this information wouldn't have changed the judges minds had it come earlier didn't seem to bother anyone but Leon, however...
