The battlefield is a strange place. Those that could be friends otherwise are often turned into bloodlusting savages. This is the case today, as two young boys fight for survival. It's the Master's Sword of Thomas against the potent magics of Genis Sage! What tips the battle, though, is that Thomas is a master of evasion; physical evasion, that is. Thomas is helpless against the ravages of Meteor Swarm... or other destructive spells from the young half elf. Combine that with Thomas' mediocre durability and you have an open, shut and splat battle for the half-elf mage.

Thomas, as the lord of Budehuc Castle is an example of tolerance and open-mindedness. However, this season, he's being forced into one ethnical match after another. First, the Karayan Lulu, now, a half-elven mage. What is wrong with the Duelling League schedulers? Nevertheless, Thomas will do his best. Despite his durability problems against magic, Thomas can deliver notable pain to the frail Genis with a few sword swipes. Genis' spellcasting is also slow, which will give the young lord some strongly needed openings. This may sound like an uphill battle, but Thomas has the determination and spirit needed to win.

Both being kids in their early teens with their lives largely dominated by women hailing from technologically deprived worlds, there was only one way to settle the epic duel of Genis and Thomas.
A Pokemon contest.
... what did you think it was? Perverts.
Anyway, the GBAs were brought to bear, and the contestents sent out their leads; and determined Kirlia for Thomas and the infamous Jumpluff from Genis.
You can guess how that ends up. And when you step back and realize Thomas was using Kirlia/Rosalia/Slaking/Feraligatr/Pikachu/Sudowoodo against Genis' team of Jumpluff/Groudon/Exeggcutor/Ho-Oh/Wobbuffet/Mew, it doesn't look any better for young Thomas.
Genis may well be called "that evil little bastard" for years, though.
Genis Sage: 48
Thomas: 18

The Thomas / Genis battle entirely revolves around whether Thomas can get inside on Genis. Once Thomas does so, his reasonably quick dagger will repeatedly interrupt Genis's spells and basically end the battle. Thomas can probably take a spell hit and survive, which would give him time to close and win.
