Season 24, Week 1
Adel
(Final Fantasy VIII)

Man? Woman? Mystery? Whatever Adel is, she definitely is powerful. Master (or mistress?) of Final Fantasy's greatest magics, Ultima and Meteor, Adel is prepared to rip and claw her way through the competition. Steiner knows the power of Ultima firsthand, and he may as well not show up. He might be tanky, but he's a leaf in the wind against the might of Adel’s spells. Steiner’s only hope is to trick Adel, and considering that the knight may be even more clumsy and hapless than Laguna, that will be a next-to-impossible task. An easy win for the legendary sorcerer/ess.

Rusty armor's never looked this good. Finally returning to the arena after his run to the Heavy finals long ago, Adelbert Steiner looks to once again stand tall and uphold the honor of the Pluto Knights. Steiner's Tin Armor makes him extremely resilient to magic, and extremely hard to hit with it in the first place. Combined with the high-powered damage of Shock and a Knight's innate toughness - not to mention the Pluto Knights' Brahne-conferred immunity to ugly, androgynous women, it looks like Garnet's bodyguard will have no trouble putting down his facially-challenged foe.

Steiner > Laguna
Laguna > Adel

Therefore, Steiner logically beats out Adel. Unfortunately, Laguna didn't win because of battle prowess (of which he fails at); its because he managed to win through a series of tricks. And to do it, he had a ton of technology, other rebellion members and two competent friends to boot. Steiner at most has a Tin Armor, a sword, and 8 other clumsy knights who probably don't even know how to operate a computer.
