Season 49, Week 1
Borgan
(Lunar 2: Eternal Blue)

The jolly fat man of Lunar has returned! ...okay, he's certainly quite fat, but he's not very jolly except during his bathtime. Nonetheless, this capable mage is facing off against Lin this week. He'll be invoking all of his rather respectable dark elemental powers to quickly mow down all those standing in his way. With a blitz of Black Wave he can easily put Lin to sleep and then blow her away with his powerful Distortion. To soak up all of Lin's puny gun-based offense, he'll use Dark Mirror, which will result in her wasting time and ammo while she gets put to sleep and then splattered. Borgan's booked a big pizza party after this win, and there isn't much that's going to stop him from making it over there.

The Trinity officer is back. A painful downgrade to Middle was erased by her blaze of glory last season, when she trounced all challengers, even the highly-thought of Eileen. Now, she gets what appears to be an easier fight, against the fat, unimpressive Borgan. Still, Lin can't afford to let her guard down: her favourite move, killing her opponents in a single shot, isn't likely to work here. So when one bullet won't cut it, what's the backup plan? Why, more bullets, of course! The rapid assault of Lin's close-range Shatter! is about as devastating as RPG gun attacks come, something the slow, unimpressive Borgan won't appreciate as Lin turns him into swiss cheese in her long-awaited return to Heavy.

Asking Lin to pose with him in a bromide, in retrospect, wasn't Borgan's best moment.

Reacting by shooting Borgan's head off with a machine gun wasn't Lin's.

Having to resurrect Borgan and deal with his advances wasn't Yuna's.

Nuking Borgan off the face of the map with a Holy to the face wasn't Yuna's best moment, either, but.
