Season 37, Week 3
Kary
(Final Fantasy)

Like moths to a flame, yet another fool comes to have their dreams of victory consumed by Kary, the Fire Fiend. That it's a fellow swordswoman, even one of much renown like Raquel Applegate, will make little difference. After all, even if her motions are without end, no single blade can hope to match the four bladed sword dance of the Fire Fiend in a straight-up swordfight. And all of that is simply assuming Kary decides to fight fair, instead of using her debilitating Hold ability, which will simply let her crush Raquel at her own pace while the Filgaian Fencer cannot move her blade an inch. And so, either by fair means or foul, this'll be another easy victory for Kary.

It seems there's a fiend to be slain if Raquel wants a second shot at that Heavy title. A Fire Fiend, no less. Well, that's fine by her. Despite Kary's frightening power, Raquel isn't worried in the least. After all, Kary is a Fire Fiend, who is also known for her powerful physicals and her impressive physical defense. She honestly couldn't play more to Raquel's strengths if she tried to. With her innate resistance to fire, her own mighty defenses which are bolstered by the always handy Blocker skill, and the Princess Saber's ability to pierce right through any and all defenses, Raquel has every advantage she needs to put this six-armed snake freak down for good.

It was a hot battle.

Flames erupted across the arena, as Kary, her eyes smouldering, her words heated, exploded across the arena at her foe.

Raquel met her blazing char-ge, though, her heart ablaze with justice, her mind sparking new tactics at every whirl, her blade flaring in the brilliant light. Soon, with tempered movements, Raquel was smoking her opponent. Kary, her hopes damped, her battling spirit quenched, was soon extinguished.

Yuri fans were, sadly, burned by this match.

(Writer's note: Pun haters, please don't l-ash out at me for this hot-blooded commentary.

Besides, it'd be too ironic to burn me for it.)
