Season 12, Week 1
Keith Valentine
(Shadow Hearts)

At first glance, Keith's debut match seems to put him in a bit of a tight spot. After all, Few opponents live to fight on after a blast of Brad's Boost Railgun attack, and Keith lacks the speed and high damage needed to stop the "Hero" before he can build up the necessary FP. However, Mr. Valentine is quite confident of victory in this match. Why? Two words: Deathblade Jiru. Though weak offensively, the sword applies instant death at a perfect rate - a status Brad has no immunity to. As long as he can land a hit before his opponent charges enough Force, the vampire looks set for a berth in the quarterfinals.

A hero. Brad Evans may not look like your standard pretty-boy swordmaster, but he's as much of a hero as anyone who's ever picked up a sword for justice. With enough raw power to smash anyone in his way, courage that makes him impossible to scare, and mental toughness to overwhelm even the most cunning of opponents, Brad is truly the complete fighter. Keith, on the other hand, is a soft one; with limited skills and draining, he has nothing in the way of damage that will either kill Brad or prevent the trademark Rail Gun finisher that makes him so feared in the hallow halls of the DL.

Brad's entrance to the ring was led by cheers and adoration of the crowd. On the other hand, Keith's entrance was met with a chilly silence that was only broken by his soft footsteps.

"Hmmph. You know that heroes never fail to kill vamprires. Prepare to meet your end, monster." Brad lunged in, and hit Keith with a staggering blow. His mighty punch even drew a trickle of blood from his pale foe's mouth.

"Brute force. Tisk, tisk. I'll show you how it's done." Keith drew his sword, and tapped Brad lightly on the shoulder. Much to the shock of the crowd, the hero of Slayheim crumpled to the ground from Keith's attack.

"Try actually preparing for a fight, Hero." Keith walked out of the arena, leaving Brad as an example that not all stereotypes hold true.
