The prince of Renais has faced many trials in this championship run, but Kato presents a new challenge. While Ephraim's mighty polearm Sigmund has served him well until now, Kato's status-filled assault will require high resolve. However, unlike so many lancemen in his realm, Ephraim has studied and trained for all aspects of warfare, and weathering magical assault and the debilitating effects they can produce is something for which he's prepared. While a sustained assault may be too much, Ephraim should easily strike the first blow, and will need to sustain only one or two blows before finishing the battle. It will push him to his limits, but that's exactly the battle Ephraim prepares himself for.

Finally Kato has a chance to prove that his downgrade to Heavy was just an embarrasing fluke. Given Kato’s determination, even a solid fighter like Ephraim won’t stop him from reaching his goal. One of Kato’s bevy of status moves should spell doom for the lancer, and while Ephraim does have decent evade, his resistance is average and Kato’s Howl-moves are all blisteringly accurate. With his incredibly solid durability, on the off chance Kato does miss on the first turn, he’ll surely get another chance to try again and blast the poor fool with status until he's down for the count! And he won’t stop until he’s back in Godlike and facing his old rival Yuri once again, proving his talents to the world!
