Is this a joke? If it is, it's certainly a bad one. Prince Ephraim has made it to the finals and this is his opponent? Some sports jock hung up on his fame? Right. Well, as long as he can stop laughing at Tidus long enough to actually fight, this match is pretty much his. His amazing evasion, coupled with his surprising durability is going to make it quite difficult for Tidus to actually take the Prince down with his weak sword-strokes, styles of attack that Ephraim has practically mastered facing against the swordmasters of his world, while a quick critical hit or two will make short work of the pansy with his watery sword. Yeah, this is definitely a bad joke for a Heavy Finals match. Can the real contestant come out now, please?

Evade and Counter - the classic strategy employed by many a warrior from Elibe to Magvel, and of all warriors, few are greater at it than Prince Ephraim of Renais. What irony is it then that Tidus employs that strategy with greater skill than the finest warriors of those lands? Armed with the Caladbolg, Ephraim's spear is more than a walking stick as Tidus dodges every single attack. And when Tidus decides to go on the offensive, no amount of evasion will stop the unerring accuracy of his Blitz Ace limit. With Haste and Slow to further tilt things in his favour, there's little doubt about which direction this match will go in - a direction that will see the athlete join the rest of Yuna's Guardians in the hall of champions!

The fight began between Tidus and Ephraim. In twelve minutes the entire audience was asleep. Neither opponent could stirke the other. Tragedy would ensue as a result. Had anyone been awake who wasn't engaged in intensely in a pathetic festival of increasingly aggravating misses, someone might have been alert enough to prevent the ambush about to occur.
The ground quaked. Stone and mortar fell. Some of the spectators were woken soon enough to see Isaac dash madly into the arena carrying a deceased Kasumi.
A pyroclasmic blast rocked the arena. One whole half of the structure was reduced to rubble and thousands died instantly. A young boy with feather light blond hair wearing a half sized jacket and carrying a massive spear with the twelve signs of the zodiac on it entered the arena.
The God-likes all moved united as one to resist the new foe. Time seemed to suspend for a moment and when it stopped the youth was holding a curved samurai blade. The greatest battle in DL history ensued. Piastol, Sephiroth, and Kefka moved to stop the battle instantly with thier lightning speed. The brazen youth easily dodged their attacks and proceeded to counter. Ten sword strikes faster than anyone had ever seen landed their mark on Piastol. Striking simultaniously, Sephiroth and Kefka launched a Pale Horse/ Havoc wing combination that mixed in the air forming a signature move they had practiced fo the next team match. Havoc Steed. Again time froze and the deadly magic dissapated by a teal colored shield with Agean markings. Magic the like that niether man had ever seen burned their flesh as though a scourge on their very soul.
Two massive dragons, Rudra and Kaiser decended from the heavens like the wrath of God. Rudra blinked and saw his opponent not longer equipped with a sword and shield but with a staff and cloaked in Powerfull magic robes. With a dismissive wave of his hand, the attacker sent a wave of crippling magic which easily hit it's mark. Unable to move the disabled duo fell to a violent death 900 meters to the ground.
Lady Yuna, the bringer of calm stepped up. Preparing to summon the mother of her enemy, Anima. Before she could raise her hands to the heavens, she was covered in a crude black oily substance. A high level fire fire spell caught ablaze and she was reduced to ash. The young man smiled. With the leader of the Healing League out of the way the rest should go without interruption.
The fight raged on for days. Sworn enemies and friends alike all stood in opposition to the invader. When the time came. Luca quietly stepped out from the shadows and to the amazement and fury of all around began to heap elixers on the damaged outsider. Yuri Hyuga, Cidolfas Orlandu, even Lenneth Valkyrie swore their revenge on the traitor as the arena was consumed in flame.
When the time came only Isaac remained long since deprived of movement with an "immobilize" spell The young man's smile was a sad one. Not long ago it was full of hope and carefree. It was tainted by obssesion. The obsesion of entering the RPG Dueling League. Over a year of obsession corrupted him entirely. Gesturing as though to question Luca he was responded with a curt nod. Fire pulsed through his hand. He speaks for the first time. A single word to show the cowering figure what loyalty and sacrifice truly are for he is a man who knows both well.
"Pyroclasm"
Sometime later a committee was appointed to decide the result of the Tidus/Ephraim match. The cataclismic battle had been impressive but in a world where people are daily burned to ash and the revived to fight again the next day no one gave a backwards glance to the one they now called "The Outsider." Much to Tidus grave misfortune this committee was chosen at random by people who hated him. (Apparently Ephraim has good freinds somewhere) The decision was decided unanimous by Yuri, Kefka, and Chaos. He would advance. Only so that they all could have a match with him in the near future. This being done the committee proceded to another matter. The inclusion of a new member. When asked to state his name he stood proud the way his Dalmascan heritage had tought him.
"My name is..."
Ephraim: 18
Tidus: 59

It was a sad match that day for Ephraim in the DL. Facing off against [CENSORED], neither Reginleff nor Siegmund did anything--for what could they do to [CENSORED] if they could hit him at all? And so, after a long--and to many, annoying, match, [CENSORED] won out over Ephraim, humiliating him in a fashion not quite unlike the Jeremy incident...
Of course, despite this, nobody still liked [CENSORED] at all. And for the count, [CENSORED] has been censored for his own safety, lest he be killed repeatedly by many many angry people...
Good luck with what passes for the rest of your life, [CENSORED].

Prince Ephraim was very annoyed. The match had started two hours ago and Tidus hadn't moved a muscle that whole time.
Of course, Ephraim had done the same, because his strategic mind knew of the FFXers' godly Evade and Counter. But he figured Tidus would have done something by now, like casting haste or slow.
Then Tidus started laughing, apparently for no reason.
Ephraim let his anger show as he barked, "What the hell is so funny?!"
Tidus only said two words.
"Loner Mode."
BLITZ ACE'D.

FE vs FFX.
Now I remember why I don't vote often. =P
