Season 29, Week 5
Raquel Applegate
(Wild ARMs 4)

Such beautiful battles that Raquel had fought thus far! A master swordsman who was every bit her equal, a member of the feared Shrine Knights of Ivalice, a dragon more powerful than any Wild ARMs she had faced... and now she faces a mage as talented with spells as Raquel is with swords. Truly, this has been a blessed season, and would there be a more beautiful way to cap it off than with a championship? While Duran, another sword-wielder, may have tried and failed against the sorceress, Raquel possesses a very important thing he lacked... status protection equipment. The Stone Cloud, bane of every dueller Angela had faced, will fail miserably against the Holy Ankh. With Angela's fatal status effectively shot down, all she has left are simple damage spells, and Raquel had just dealt with a devastating Brood that had damaging spells in spades. All things considered, nothing can stop Raquel's flashing blade from cutting Angela down with a single strike.

Every battle for Angela this season has showcased the age-old doctrinal battle between magic and the blade. If Angela's spectacular performance thus far is any indication, it seems that magic is truly the superior doctrine in battle. Now, Angela has but one more test of this hypothesis, and of all her fights, this will perhaps be the easiest she's faced this season. Raquel, while a punishing physical fighter, is slow and not fond of magic in the slightest. While Angela's typical strategy of turning her foe into a lawn ornament might not be as effective as usual - Raquel is surely smart enough to find a way to guard against such a deadly strategy - it won't be needed. The terrifying power of the Rune Master's Deathspell will be Raquel's downfall - Raquel's already tenuous grip on life will be forever severed once Angela has her way with her. Raquel's fought a good season - now, however, it's time for the power of magic to have its day, and a Heavy championship would be just dandy.

Xan
Next we have Angela vs Raquel. Angela beat Kevin, though I fail to see how a mage beats Kevin, who has a health absorbtion status up he can put on himself, and crazy damage output. Kevin is a fighter. Kevin is a very fast fighter. Kevin is probably faster than Raquel, and much harder to kill overall do to his healing options and increadibly high HP values. therefore, assumedly Angela>Raquel.

Raquel Applegate: 43
Angela: 46

Imperial
Raquel vs Angela. This battle of sword and magic will be over in one second. Angela will have the opening attack but that doesn't mean that Raquel will not press on. In this one second several spells will be unleashed as well as several of the worlds 'finest arts'. For the Heavy championship Red Zone will be a necessity, but Angela's death spell may be the deciding factor.

However, Red Zone, Intrude, Poison Bite, Dragon Edge can all happen in one second. Leaving us a champion swordswoman. To think all it took was one second.
