Season 29, Week 1
KOS-MOS
(Xenosaga Series)

With the decisive defeat of her first Godlike match still fresh in the minds of the public, KOS-MOS has a lot to prove. Thankfully, the battle android isn't facing a Godlike veteran this week. Purim may have a nasty collection of spells in her repertoire, but all the magic in the world is no match for Vector Industry technology. S-Chain will remove whatever speed advantage Purim had and lower her already below average defense, making her suscptible to R-Dragon. Raising the Lucid Barrier won't help either, as the very magical X-Buster will easily get past it. With ethers that boost her physical or magical attacks, the poor girl will be forced to fight defensively before long. Primed, ready and as deadly as ever, the combat android enters the arena with confidence in her stride.

Purim has finally silenced her critics and taken a Heavy championship, ascending to Godlike with grace and ease. Now, in her first Godlike match, she faces KOS-MOS... in what should be a simplistic match. Lucent Barrier + Wall blocks KOS-MOS' offense for a good portion of the battle, and Purim's excellent damage will allow her to take KOS-MOS out with a few Lucent Beams. She even has time to play with her opponent a bit, and can combo Elemental Sabers with her charged physicals, unleash her dreaded Balloon status on KOS-MOS, smack her with Moon Energy active, or even give her foe a pretty Fire Bouquet. Even assuming Purim can't kill KOS-MOS in time with all her options, she can easily heal or reset her Lucent Barrier + Wall combo, giving her the victory.

Pyro
KOS-MOS is the pinnacle of advanced technology, possessing innumerable abilities beyond the comprehension of her opponent. She is durable, damaging, able to survive in space, fireproof…

Wait… she’s not fireproof? Vector’s most prized possession will be nothing more than fuel for Purim’s Blaze Wall then. Pity.

Shion really shouldn’t have squandered that part of the budget on snacks.

KOS-MOS: 43
Purim: 54

Xenosaga 1 KOS-MOS really doesn't belong in Godlike. Having somewhat higher damage than the rest of your cast does not alone a Godlike make. And if cutscenes counted, Laharl would be trouncing Godlikes left and right. No, if you want to win a Godlike battle, you need either lots of tricks, (see: Sephiroth) or enough in-battle power to simply squish opponents dead in one go, (see: Zophar) or the ability to survive both long enough to eke out a win. (see: Orlandu)

Purim has lots of tricks, including ones that give her the other two.

Sorry, KOS-MOS. Maybe Xenosaga 3 will give you your due.

Kos-Mos, she is a god. Purim has no chance.
