Obviously ranking comments contain spoilers.

Radiant Historia
Stocke: 7.5/10. Stocke's pretty cool. Well-done introvert, way nicer guy than his exterior indicates. A bit Gary Stuish at points but at others is quite solid.
Raynie: 4/10. Boring, but not bad.
Marco: 4/10.
Rosch: 6/10. I like Rosch, but I have a hard time justifying why. I think he bounces off Stocke pretty well.
Aht: 3.5/10. I don't hate her as much as most people, but she's not very good.
Eruca: 6/10. Is a princess. Doesn't really push the archetype of her envelope but she doesn't embarrass herself either.
Gafka: 3/10. Hello, stereotype.

Heiss: 6.5/10. I didn't really quite buy his motivations, but I'm not too far from it.. I like his interactions with Stocke though.
Queen Protea: 5/10. Cartoonishly evil. It works somewhat.
Selvan: 5/10. No real opinion.
Dias: 5/10.
Hugo: 7/10. Pretty damn good at wielding power, gotta love the way he whips up his own people into a fervour. My favourite of the villains.
Viola: 4/10. Reminds me a bit of FE8 Selena except she doesn't suck, but "I know my boss is evil but still we must fight!" is rarely good.
Garland: 4/10. Meh. Felt like one of those guys who just knows how to spot the good guys and the bad guys just because he's so cool, y'know? Missed opportunity to explore the politics of a third nation here.

Vanoss: 3.5/10. He existed?
Liese: 3.5/10.
Teo: 5.5/10. Bonus half point for the scene where they do try to break the rules and we see that the rules do in fact get enforced.
Lippti: 5.5/10. Well these two are the same damn character.
Sonja: 5/10. Shrug.
Kiel: 5/10. Shrug.
Raul: 6/10. A cool, competent leader for Stocke and co. Worked and I bought into him.

The cast isn't very good at getting strong feelings about of me apparently! There's a few good ones mixed in there at least, though nobody amazing.

Erwin Schrödinger will kill you like a cat in a box.

fuck yeah

Radiant Historia
Stocke - Comes across as a bit too perfect at times but otherwise pretty well done.  8/10.
Raynie - Interactions with Stocke keep her from becoming air.  4/10.
Marco - A bit blander than Raynie.  3.5/10.
Rosch - Interacts well with Stocke.  6/10.
Aht - Stupid loligoat.  1/10.
Eruca - She's okay.  5/10.
Gafka - Hi stereotype.  2/10.

Heiss - Motivations aside, he works.  6.5/10.
Queen Protea - She fails so much, it's great.  6/10.
Selvan - Diaselvan is generally okay up until the end.  5/10.
Dias - 5/10.
Hugo - Effective powerhungry asshole.  7/10.
Viola - Ugh, better than FE8 Selena but that doesn't say a whole lot.  3/10.
Garland - Wasted potential.  3/10.

Vanoss - Existed.  3/10.
Liese - Existed.  3/10.
Teo - Trust him, he's a doctor.  6/10.
Lippti - Trust her, she's a doctor.  6/10.
Sonja - Had some decent interactions with Rosch but didn't really inspire much.  5/10.
Kiel - Eh.  4/10.
Raul - Points for being the one leader in Alistel with his head on straight, apparently.  6/10.

Stocke - 8/10 - Good stuff.
Raynie - 4.5/10 - Bland, but conveyed "wants to get into Stocke's pants" perfectly.
Marco - 4/10 - Slightly more Bland.
Rosch - 6.5/10 - Works well with Stocke. Needs to exist more.
Aht - 5.5/10 - I liked her. I didn't get the usual "creepy loli vibes" here. The writing was good enough that she felt like a normal little girl, magical goat powers aside.
Eruca - 6.5/10 - Sensible enough. Could have benefitted from more screen time.
Gafka - 3/10 - I like his archetype, but god damn break outside the box a little...

Heiss - 7/10
Queen Protea - 7/10 - Feels like WAXF-villain-lite.

Sonja - 5.5
Kiel - 5.5

Tales of Phantasia
Cless - 2/10 - Ooh ooh! I figured out the theme! It's "Blonde-haired sword-wielding Main", right? ;)
Mint - 0/10 - Or maybe it's "First female met in the game is inexplicably in love with the main"?
Chester - 4/10 - I got it! It's "Save your best friend by travelling through time!"
Klarth - 8/10 - Klarth is genuinely cool. I remember liking that the older, wiser member of the party was actually the one doing most of the decision-making. He did all the research, forged all the summon pacts, made all the cool machines, and made all the awesome oyaji-pervy jokes.
Arche - 10/10 - Yeah, there's a slight bias here. Arche got a really cool introduction into the party, as a possessed NPC who set out to help settle her deceased friend's final wishes. And then went on to have some pretty good drama concerning her rather unique parentage (for the ToP world anyway). In general though, I appreciated her for the upbeat personality and her funny lines. She played off the other (incredibly stoic) characters somehow to keep ToP from being a total snore-fest outside battle.

Dhaos - 9/10 - Also awesome.

Stocke: 8.5/10. Introverts for life! I dug Stocke a lot, especially when he epically fucks up. Why yes, I think I should help Hugo become all-powerful, I have to think this through carefully...
Raynie: 4.5/10.
Marco: 3/10.
Rosch: 7/10. Definitely think he could have had more screentime, but I really liked what was there. I mean, I did use him as a PC, and that's not really a great idea...
Aht: 2/10. Loligoat, thanks Randomy.
Eruca: 7/10. I like her, she's got a good head on her shoulders.
Gafka: 2/10. I've seen this character before...

Heiss: 7.5/10. I dig Heiss quite a bit. The tradition of sacrifice is nonsensical enough that I can understand why someone would become bitter by it, and I think it's amusing how he doesn't get how Stocke came to a different conclusion through seeing the world.
Queen Protea: 4/10.
Selvan: 3/10. I don't like Selvan, he never does anything.
Dias: 5/10.
Hugo: 6/10. Where did he go in the other path?
Viola: 2/10. Yuck. Her last scene left a bad taste in my mouth.
Garland: 4/10.

Vanoss: 3/10.
Liese: 3/10.
Teo: 5/10.
Lippti: 5/10 Cute kids~
Sonja: 4/10. She's a girl and she's in love with Rosch, baby.
Kiel: 5/10. Shrug.
Raul: 6/10. Nice hair, Salome.

Stocke - 9.  I really like Stocke.  Objectively an excellent character, subjectively...well, great.  Yeah, solid overall.
Raynie - 4.2.  She's cute.  Otherwise...you can tell she was originally meant to be killed off early.

Stocke - 8/10 I liked Stocke.  My main wish was that they didn't Gary Stu him as much as they do later.  They sell him as a badass very well on his competence even -ignoring- time travelling; he didn't need to have his extra, uh, destinies as well.
Raynie & Marco - 5/10.  These two are basically a pair and exist to give Stocke something to work with.   Sure.  I liked the one bit of backstory they have with the Black Chronicle wielder, though.
Rosch - 6/10 Serviceable.
Aht - 4/10.  "Not as annoying as I expected" is kind of damning with faint praise, as she is still annoying.  At least they sort of sold a plot reason for her to be hanging out with the party, which was good, and her minor career as an exorcist was weird but kind of interesting.
Eruca - 6/10.  "Is a princess" covers things pretty well.  But I liked her attitude toward Stocke and statements about the sacrifice being the emergency last resort.
Gafka - 3/10.  Bland.

Heiss - 7/10.  Yeah, some of his plot is a bit wobbly, but on the whole I buy it.  I liked the extend-the-useless-war-forever thing as a way to bring the world to ruin.  On the downside, I feel he only uses the Black Chronicle for hax in a time-travelley way twice, and one is weird.  Raynie & Marco's backstory?  Perfect.  He re-ran the monster attack until they were the only 2 spared.  A+.  And...  killing Eruca.  Except in a weird way.  Stocke can only travel back to nodes in time he was at, and was a notable node.  Was Heiss really out hiking the wilderness and trailing Stocke or something?!  Pretty sure there are scenes with Standard History Heiss back in Alistel....   and of course if Heiss really decided that Eruca was necessary to kill off, you'd think he could have done that shortly after stealing the Black Chronicle and killing his brother.  Just travel back to that node and kill Eruca then when Stocke can't intervene.  This plan is a bit weird anyway since Heiss does love his nephew so it's odd he's willing to off his niece, and even then seemingly doesn't do it despite having his new henchmen capture her in the endgame.  I thought the plan was kill, not kidnap?  Oh well.  Other than that he mostly uses the Black Chronicle for long-range killing and powering monsters up, which isn't as cool, although I can see the disintegration as being a paradox effect from Heiss killing them in the past or something too, maybe.  That said, I buy giving the White Chronicle to Stocke, which was the event I expected to scratch my head at the most, so cool, I buy it.
Queen Protea - 6/10. Chews the scenery well enough.
Selvan & Dias - 5/10.  I liked how they manage their sort-of-puppet Protea, but toward the end of the game they kind of go pathetic in both storylines.
Hugo 6/10.  A bit bland but sure he worked.
Viola - 3/10.  +1 for responding pretty competently to Stocke's "surprise here are the enemy plans get moving" revelation.  I liked that.  -3 for her final plotline, especially since she doesn't actually die.  "Better than Selena," yes, and faint praise as usual.  However disspiriting it would be for Viola to die, it'd be far more disspirting to the war effort where she to denounce it and resign.  It'd have been fine had the game had Stocke badmouth her for having a martyr complex, or some attachment to 'honor' and valuing her reputation as a non-traitor over her life, but he doesn't which implies the game thinks this was a decent idea.
Garland - 3/10.  Yuck.  Hooray for the slave-driving king?  Thought that arc could have used some work, notably in that you never get to settle up with the people who kidnapped you, nor do you get to settle up with Garland really.

(skipping side characters who were too sidey)
Kiel - 5/10.  He worked.
Raul - 6/10.  He also worked.

Personally I don't think 2 votes is a large enough sample size to add anyone to the top/bottom ten, but I'm not the one running this thread!

Too lazy to rate characters now, will do so later.

I considered it, but then I looked back and saw there's been precedent for that, so...eh.  I could go either way, honestly - it was a small session, but somewhat obscure.  I could go either way - if others feel strongly, let me know.

Hmm... objectively, I agree with the idea that a small sample size, even including my own vote, is kind of a bad precedent for adding someone to the top ten lists. In particular, while I love Klarth, objectively, I assumed he'd end up a bit lower from popular opinion (even though I personally feel he's worthy of the rank).

On the other hand, I am 100% for anything that shows off how terrible Mint is as a character. (And I suspect that popular opinion would still have landed her in the bottom ten anyway...)

Wild ARMs 3
Virginia Maxwell - 8/10 - Really driven character, father-issues that didn't annoy me, being a female lead that's not fanservice helps. Honestly, she'd be one of my favorite characters period if she'd just shut up about Wings.
Jet Enduro - 3/10 - Conversely, Jet is the epitome of 90s 'cool', and everything that's wrong with that. I kind of liked him at the end after he stopped being emo. Sort of a poorly-done Cloud Strife.
Gallows Carradine - 9 - He just wants to party but is fettered by adult responsibility. I empathize with this so hard.
Clive Winslett - 6 - Is an adult! He's got a kid! Kind of bland, but competence in this group goes a long way.

Janus Cascade - 7.5 - Crazy, but that special brand of crazy that makes me smile.
Maya Schrodinger - 10 - Objectively more of an 8, but +2 for Lesbianism.
Alfred Schrodinger - 3 - Is there.
Todd Dukakis - 2 - Is kinda there.
Shady Thousand - 5 - Is Schroedinger's Cat, so +5.
Melody Vilente - 3
Malik Bendict - 4
Leehalt Alcaste - 3
Asgard - 4 - +1 for cameos
Zeikfried/Seigfried - 5 - ditto
Beatrice - 3 - Space Flea, but an adorable little girl.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Obi-Wan Kenobi - 7
Qui-Gon Jinn - 2 - FAIL
Anakin Skywalker - 4 - Bad acting
Jar Jar Binks - 1 - Objectively a 0, but +1 because I like being different.
Queen Amidala - 3 - Pretty?

Senator Palpatine - 7 - Saturday Morning Cartoon villain!
Shmi Skywalker - who
C-3PO - 6 - sure
R2-D2 - 6 - whynot
Watto - whatnow
Yoda - 6 - Not actually all that badass here.
Mace Windu - 7 - Hey look, it's diversity!
Boss Nass - dun remember

Nute Gunray - who
Darth Maul - -1 - Inspired hoardes of 90s kids to wear face paint.

Cthulhu Saves the World
Cthulhu: 7.5/10. Breaks the fourth wall in fun ways. Is Cthulhu.
Umi: 5/10. Decent parody.
Sharpe: 3.5/10. Um. There's worse.
October: 4/10. I think I like her a bit more than Sharpe or Paws? Have trouble justifying that though.
Paws: 3.5/10. His arc was decent.
Dacre: 1/10. Emblematic of how the writing goes south in the second half.
Ember: 1.5/10. Has one kinda good line.

Elonalina: I am reminded I need to play Cthulhu's Angels.
Molly: Yep.

The Narrator: 7/10. Okay he (?) is pretty fun. Narrator + Cthulhu interaction is the game's best character work.

Wild ARMs 3
Virginia Maxwell: 7/10. Not amazing and I can see why she'd annoy, but overall I think she goes through some real development and has some fun moments. Good enough.
Jet Enduro: 2/10. I LIVE ONLY FOR MYSELF. LENNETH, WHAT ABOUT YOU?
Gallows Carradine: 6/10. Average + cool scenes with Shane lategame.
Clive Winslett: 6/10. I liked him more than Gallows for most of the game, but where C4 helps Gallows, it hurts Clive and his random giving up for flimsy reasons. Oh well. A cool and collected leader aside from that, kinda Gary Stu but believable, and bonus points for being a family man.

Janus Cascade: 3/10. I dunno. Janus might be a 5 on raw writing, but he's completely ruined by his fanbase who misses the fucking point. The guy's a tool and gets played like a fiddle by villains above his payscale.
Maya Schrodinger: 8/10. I like Maya's firey personality, and her plot, silly though it may be. Living every nerdy bookworm's fantasy. Interaction with Virginia is generally quite golden, and really the main reason earlygame Virginia is tolerable.
Alfred Schrodinger: 5/10. Panda backpack. Also pyro.
Todd Dukakis: 4/10. Afro.
Shady Thousand: 7/10. Schroedinger's cat, bitches. Sadly fanboyism only gets you a 7. Anyway, I like the Schroedinger gang and thought their individual gimmicks made them a lot of fun.
Melody Vilente: Prophets are so weird. I've ranted about this before, I think they're all individually unconvincing villains. Melody's unfathomably obsessed with her own beauty, Malik is like that crazy BoF3 dude's clone, Leehalt is Kain. However their interaction is phenomenal and their collective motivation (this world has rejected us? Well fuck that, we're remaking it!) is good fun. Man I dunno what to make of that, score-wise.
Malik Bendict: ^
Leehalt Alcaste: ^
Asgard: 3/10. You on the other hand are just boring. I think he's supposed to be the "cool" villain or something.
Zeikfried/Seigfried: 5/10. He's okay. Bounces off the prophets well. Unexceptional though.
Beatrice: 7/10. Really have no idea how anyone can consider her a space flea, she's heavilly forshadowed all game long (various characters' dreams, the mysterious sabotage of Yggdrasil). I like villains who are built up quietly that way, and she does a decent job at her turn on centre stage, reprising the prophets in a way that feels less selfish and more completely alien. Also, evil little girl is a fun design. Not very deep but works.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Obi-Wan Kenobi: 6/10. I remember quite liking Obi-wan. Made a pretty good hero for the series. Maybe I'm just remembering him in episode 3 where I thought he was great, I dunno.
Qui-Gon Jinn: 5/10. *shrug*
Anakin Skywalker: 2/10. Made me sit through that interminable pod-racing sequence. Otherwise a plot device.
Jar Jar Binks: 1/10. Occasionally funny saves him from a 0, but yeesh, the hate is largely deserved.
Queen Amidala: 4/10. Has her moments (I did like the reveal), but overall very bland.

Senator Palpatine: 8/10. Magnificent bastard. Okay he doesn't do much to deserve an 8 in this movie but what little he does do is pretty awesome setup for the series' main villain.
Shmi Skywalker: 2/10. Okay so you're the virgin Mary, that is a thing.
C-3PO: 6/10. Generally amusing, but I don't remember much specific to this movie.
R2-D2: 5/10. Yeah I'm the only person in the world who prefers C-3PO to R2-D2.
Watto: 4/10. Well his design is memorable.
Yoda: 5/10. He has that quote Necron stole. And uh... stuff.
Mace Windu: 5/10. I barely remember him in this movie. Someone else who got better in later prequel films.
Boss Nass: who is this? Jar-Jar's leader? *googles* 2/10. On screen less than Jar-Jar.

Nute Gunray: Trade federation dude, right? I kinda like the slimy political villains but it's a bad sign when I had trouble remembering your name. 4/10.
Darth Maul: 0/10. Fuck off. George Lucas doesn't get it, lightsaber duels are only epic when the drama is high. Does Luke vs. Vader (either iteration, really) have amazing choreography? Not especially. It doesn't matter, they're great scenes and memorable as hell. Darth Maul feels created for one of these but he has literally zero personality and I think one line in the entire movie. Oh yeah and he wears a mask as well so he isn't even allowed to act (at least Dooku had the fact that he was Christopher motherfucking Lee to salvage him). It makes for a disappointing conclusion to an already disappointing movie. Also that double-bladed light saber is an abortion.

Erwin Schrödinger will kill you like a cat in a box.
Maybe.

Copying Tal with some minor adjustments for CSTW.

Cthulhu Saves the World
Cthulhu - 7
Umi - 6
Sharpe - 3.5
October - 4
Paws - 3
Dacre - 3
Ember - 1.5

Elonalina - 5
Molly - 3

The Narrator - 8

Wild ARMs 3
Virginia Maxwell - Largely echoing NEB but with less love for her overall development.  5/10.
Jet Enduro - Is the Anti-Pro and constantly spews sand from his inexplicable mangina.  1/10.
Gallows Carradine - Him on the other hand I geniunely liked.  9/10.
Clive Winslett - Would be better if that facepalm-inducing C4 scene didn't exist.  5/10.

WA3 villains don't have a lot of serious merit to them but they tend to be pretty good at style and/or providing grist for the mockery mill so perhaps these scores may look inflated to some.
Janus Cascade - Unwitting dupe who is so much fun to mock.  Instead of PURE IDEALS he has I AM THE MOST ROTTEN AND WILL BE KING OF THIS ROTTEN WORLD.  7/10.
Maya Schrodinger - Insane closeted lesbian with crazy bookworm powers.  Yes.  8/10.
Alfred Schrodinger - Pyromaniac with a panda backpack.  Yes.  6/10.
Todd Dukakis - You on the other hand are just boring.  3/10.
Shady Thousand - Is Schroedinger's Cat.  7/10.
Melody Vilente - Also so much fun to mock, but less so than Janus.  6/10.
Malik Bendict - I NEED AN ADULT.  Same as Melody, but -3 points for mommy issues.  3/10.
Leehalt Alcaste - Grahf Ikari.  2/10.
Asgard - LOYALTY.  2/10.
Zeikfried/Seigfried - It's WA1 Zeik, but with more ham.  He will turn the planet into the demons so he can go and conquer SPAAAAAAAAAACE.  4/10.
Beatrice - 5 points for trolling.  7/10.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Obi-Wan Kenobi - Is okay.  6/10.
Qui-Gon Jinn - Is less okay.  4/10.
Anakin Skywalker - Plot device, beats episode 2 Anakin.  2/10.
Jar Jar Binks - No.  0/10.
Queen Amidala - zzzz.  3/10.

Senator Palpatine - Excellent.  8/10.
Shmi Skywalker -
Quote from: NEB
2/10.  Okay so you're the virgin Mary, that is a thing.
C-3PO - Barely existed.  2/10.
R2-D2 - R2 just isn't as much fun without C-3PO.  2/10.
Watto - Memorable enough.  4/10.
Yoda - zzz.  3/10.
Mace Windu - zzz.  3/10.
Boss Nass - FEED ME.  3/10.

Nute Gunray - Well that sure was a guy that did things.  2/10.
Darth Maul - I wish I could give him a negative score.  0/10.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Obi-Wan Kenobi- 3/10.  Obi-wan has not yet developed a personality in this movie.  He has some scenes where they're clearly trying to establish "he's an experienced padawan, more or less ready to become a full Jedi Knight" but the dialogue is too lame to bring this across.  still, he doesn't really drag the movie down, just kinda boring.
Qui-Gon Jinn- 5/10.  In as much as anything happens in this movie, Qui-Gon is making it happen.  Well, on the hero side.

I'm rearranging OK's listing here because I need to to properly address things.

Jar Jar Binks- 1/10.  Jar Jar is pretty terrible.  Doesn't bring anything to the movie and slows down a lot of scenes.
Anakin Skywalker- 0/10.  Anakin though is... everything wrong with this movie.  No thought was put into how to realize a goddamned 10 year old messiah in the setting.  Oh he's the chosen one, right.  But for the emotional core of your entire goddamned franchise, you've handicapped yourself with a 10 year old actor.  Oh he needs something to do, here is two big dumb action sequences with no sense of urgency or emotional attatchment.  He needs motivation scenes, here he is having his mom act circles around him because HE IS 10 AND ADULT EMOTIONS DO NOT REGISTER FOR HIM.
Queen Amidala- 3/10.  Kinda lame but not offensive.

Senator Palpatine- 7/10.  Smooth pimp.
Shmi Skywalker- 4/10.  I had some faint caring about her fate and motivations.  Perhaps I am grading on a curve?
C-3PO- 2/10.  C-3P0 sucks in the prequels.
R2-D2- 5/10.  Trying a little too hard but is still Artoo.
Watto- 2/10.
Yoda- 4/10.
Mace Windu- 3/10.
Boss Nass- 3/10.  He at least succeeds at being a doofy comic relief alien for the kids.

Nute Gunray- 2/10.  Laaaaaame.
Darth Maul- 3/10.  3 points for theme music, bitches.

You know what?  I can totally see it Elf.  You are totes a 3-P0 sort of guy.  CK is right though, he blows hard in the prequels.  At least he didn't get his head swapped with a combat droid in a "comedy" scene during the climax of the movie.

Also a double ended saber seems like a terrible choice for an instrument to use in an abortion.
NO MORE POKEMON - Meeplelard.

Cthulhu Saves the World
Still haven't quite finished Cthulhu's Angels; at the Magitek Facility Innsmouth there.

Cthulhu - 7/10.  Sure, Cthulhu has his moments.  Or at least, when the game has actual humor, Cthulhu is usually involved.
Umi - 6/10 Decent enough parody, also gets amusing lines.  C's Angels form is a different parody, and rather one-dimensional at times, but still works.
Sharpe - 2/10.  The game does precisely 0 with him.  Recruitment scene is random and Dragon Questy.  I think he's supposed to be the straight man, but he doesn't even really do that.
October - 4/10.  2/10 in CSTW, nothing here either, which is a damn shame since necromancer cultist has just a ton of options and funny jokes to run with when fighting with *Cthulhu*, but heroic Cthulhu.  +2 for some amusing lines in C's Angels that properly explore heroic necromancer thought processes.  "Well everyone didn't like me because I was a Necromancer, and you're an outcast too, so clearly you're entirely right about being a reformed hero now!"  Nicely quasi-pathetic, doing something.  Still not enough to make her a *good* character but hey.
Paws - 4/10.  Game doesn't do much with Paws, but his introduction plot arc is funny enough, and has a few amusing backchatter lines with Cthulhu.
Dacre - 2/10.  See Sharpe.  I reserve 1s for characters that actively offend me so "plotless recruit" is still only 2/10.  His C's Angels appearance is also lame but not offensively so.
Ember - 2/10.  Has one funny line, otherwise see Sharpe / Dacre.

Elonalina - 7/10.  Okay she was pretty funny, and probably what they should have done with Sharpe.  Having the adventuring heroine randomly helping out Cthulhu has comedy potential and it is actually explored.  Well as much as you might expect in a low-dialogue game at least.
Molly - 4/10.  I admit she gets funny lines later, but she is a very blatant, ah, "phone in" character who is obviously so cool, because she's cool, or something.  "lol she's a werezompire with a cell phone" or something.  Maybe there's some kind of hipster irony at work here where being cool is merely a matter of declaring the fact?  Whatever.  I thought it was more lame than funny, stating something rather than working with it, but she gets good lines later, so whatever.

The Narrator - 6/10 Plays off Cthulhu well enough, sure.

Wild ARMs 3
Check out this overwhelming wave of meh.
Virginia Maxwell - 3 Meh.
Jet Enduro -3 Meh.
Gallows Carradine -3 Meh.
Clive Winslett - 6 Okay I liked Clive.  A bit Gary Stuy sure but the scholar researching the...  as it turned out utterly bizarre plot twist that requires, frankly, reality sculpting rather than any experiment gone wrong, played to my biases.

Janus Cascade 6/10.
Quote
The guy's a tool and gets played like a fiddle by villains above his payscale.
That.  But...  Janus has a fanbase that thinks he's generically badass from NEB's comment?!  Oh well.  I liked Seifer and I like Janus.  He's pathetic but the game knows this and he has his own menace anyway.  That's actually something you see in a few Westerns that's hard to sell in video games...  the cowardly bully is actually a problem, because he'll start firefights by shooting first in situations that could be defused.  (But luckily everyone is shooting blanks in video games or something, so the idea that the wimpy gunfighter can still freaking shoot you dead in the back at the bar doesn't really translate).

Maya Schrodinger -3 Meh.
Alfred Schrodinger -3 Meh.
Todd Dukakis - 3 Meh.
Shady Thousand -3 Meh.
The Prophets - 6/10 I once more agree with NEB.  Their individual motivations are on the lame side...  and honestly the Beatrice reveal later further undercuts their own stock to raise hers...  but they a reasonably effective opposition as a group.  Sadly the dramatic quality of the villainy drops as the game moves on and uses more powerful yet lamer villains.
Asgard - 2/10 I don't recall what Asgard does in WA3 at all.
Zeikfried/Seigfried - 3/10.  Meh.
Beatrice - 4/10.  Meh.  +1 for planting hints about her reveal in the diaries at Leyline Observatory, but still a bit space fleaish even with the foreshadowing.

Cthulhu Saves the World
Cthulhu: 5. He had me giggling at times.
Umi: 5. She had me giggling too, thanks to Cthulhu's Angels.
Sharpe: 2. Don't care for him.
October: 2. Or her.
Paws: 2. Or him.
Dacre: 4. Points for Cthulhu's Angels making him more interesting. Just how crazy is he, really?
Ember: 3. He had a funny line.

Elonalina: 4. Again with amusing character lines.
Molly: 3. Barely remember her. Bonus points for being a Zombie/Werewolf/Vampire.

The Narrator: 7. Trolls you.

Wild ARMs 3
Virginia Maxwell: 9. She starts out interesting enough as a motivated but naive and inexperienced drifter. She goes through a lot of character development and has some good interactions. Just a well-done character in a lot of regards. Also, that scene where she freaks-out mentally about her father cheating on her mother was fucking gold.
Jet Enduro: 6. He is a bit of an ass but that is part of his character. It is used as a base to develop him from and stops being offensive fast enough. Watching him get 'defrosted' is somewhat fun and believable as he is just kind of going along with Virginia's energy, rather than suddenly deciding he is in love or something stupid.
Gallows Carradine: 7. Gallows is fun and has some good development and scenes.
Clive Winslett: 7. Works quite well as a static badass who mentors/advises the group.

Janus Cascade: 7. Such a great prick. Gets upgraded a lot but honestly never really changes.
Maya Schrodinger: 7. Certainly manages to be comical. Also her transformations are amusing.
Alfred Schrodinger: 3. Didn't leave an impression.
Todd Dukakis: 3. AFRO.
Shady Thousand: 5. Points for being Shroedinger's cat.
Melody Vilente: 5. Superficial girl taken to villainous extremes? That is worth points in and of itself.
Malik Bendict: 4. So damn creepy.
Leehalt Alcaste: 2. Boring.
Asgard: 6. He is pretty generic but good lord was that second comeback cool.
Zeikfried/Seigfried: 3. He does not exactly inspire much in the way of interest.
Beatrice: 8. Beatrice is hinted at the entire game. The common theme in way too many places of 'prophetic/influential dreams' should start setting off warning bells by the third major plot point about it. Her design is win (cosmic horror in very unassuming package). Had she not been properly hinted at this score would be significantly lower. Funny as that isn't her character at work but more the presentation of it, but I guess that goes to show the difference between concept and execution.
