So it had to be done. Every board needs a college football thread!
~
Florida is still the team to beat, Tebow won't be slowed by a silly concussion.
The Hurricanes plays Oklahoma tonight in Miami, I say they take them down!
USF (my home team and curent college *woot woot?* >_> ) is beating Cuse at their own house On their homecoming! (and yet they aren't ranked......YET!)
FSU plays Boston College and by the loks of it, they will lose to all the major Florida schools this year. Bobby needs to take a hike already!
~~
As you can see I am a huge Florida fan and love cheering for my boys. Who do you guys watch/cheer for in college?
~~~
Did some research and found some mock drafts.
http://www.nfldraftbible.com/All-Access-Football/2010_nfl_draft_bible_preseason_big_board_quarterbacks.html
Kinda silly they don't have Bradford, Reesing or Clausen on the top board of QBs, but I am pleasantly surprised to see Dan Lefevour's name up their even if it is just some crazy guys random list. (mark my words he will be a good sleeper!)
Iowa's been doing very well, ranked No. 13 after their upset over Penn State last week. This week they're facing Arizona State, who I'm not sure is going to amount to much of a threat, next week is Michigan, though, who's always tough even if they are ranked only 22.
-
I'm a pretty big LSU fan right now. Going there tends to cause that. Yesterday we beat Georgia at Georgia which is a pretty big win for us. We moved up from like 11 to 4 without really doing much besides not losing to easy teams so that win showed that we deserve the ranking. Next week Florida comes here and that should be a huge game. Florida is definately the team to beat, but they haven't really been tested yet this season. Their game against Tennessee showed that a good defense can give them some problems and they have to play here on a Saturday night and that's when LSU tends to play their best. That combined with Tim Tebow possibly not being 100% makes me think that the game could go either way.
Unfortunately I don't have tickets, but I'll still be pulling for the tigers.
-
Yeah, LSU UF is going to be a huge game. Everyone wants to see what Tebow is going to do. It seems espn has said he will play tonight.
~
Other meaningfull games?
Bama Ole Miss should be fun. If Bama steam rolls through the Rebels I say they are the best team right now. But there is always the possibility of Snead coming through with an upset. It is the SEC.
VT and BC is going to be an awful game, but I want BC to somehow win so VT can have a conference loss! >_>
Ohio State and Wisconsin shouldn't be too bad. We will see if Ohio State can deal with a more complete team and we can also see how good the badgers really are.
Miami versus Florida A&M - Shock FAMU is undefeated and plays the Canes right after their allmighty win over the Sooners. Do the Canes let that win affaect their game plan? I sure fucking hope not!
Michigan and Iowa - Awww, poor Wolverines aren't ranked anymore. Pity. Bwa hahahahaha
Oklahoma and Baylor - Bradford's back. Is it too late for the Sooners though?
FL. State and G. Tech - Poor Bobby Bowden. Favre's biological father? Seems as though they both just can't give up the game!
E. Michigan and Cent. Michigan - Just on my radar because I think LeFevour is going to be great.
~~
gawd I love collge football!
-
Yeah, guess the Hawkeyes are going to stay undefeated unless they suffer a complete collapse. Of course, week after this they face Wisconsin, who's currently ranked 10th and is leading the Big Ten conference right now, which is going to be a tough, tough game.
-
I thought the Badgers were unranked still?
-
There was some Power Ranking thing on BCSFootball.org that had them 10th, I dunno how they work that out.
Coaches Poll has them at 25.
So maybe it's not as bad as I first thought.
-
Tebow fears nobody!
-
Looks like a Gator not named Tebow is going to be the number one pick in the draft next year.
-
OU VS. TEXAS THIS WEEK! GO SOONERS !!!!
-
Isn't that the game your brother has tickets for?
-
Haha, hell no. Those tickets cost hundreds of dollars.
-
The red river rivalry. It's gonna get messy!
~
Also, went to the USF Cinci game...
bwa hahahahaha
Miami looks foward to playing with BJ Daniels!
-
I have a ton of friends going to the game today! Losers.
-
This has to be the worst game I have ever seen!
(and I'm a Bucs fan!)
-
Having seen the Redskins/Rams game, I am going to disagree that it is worse. No, I'm not watching whatever game you are scar. WAS/STL is still worse.
-
No, you are wrong this game is a horrible mockery of the game of football. Everyone at my job watching agrees. Cringe worthy at every snap.
-
I thought 6-6 is what SEC games were normally like.
-
Except those games are low scoring because of good defenses.
Big difference.
-
The thing I love about Iowa now is that they always seem to play entertaining games. Behind by a touchdown at half, they proceed to tie the game in the 3rd quarter and do nothing else until the fourth, when they manage to put up 10 points and shut out Wisconsin. Still undefeated, now ranked No. 11! Could a top ten team be in the works?
Next up is Michigan State, which isn't even in the top 25, so hopefully they'll stay undefeated. But the thing about this team is that you can never seem sure.
-
Bama takes the number 1 spot. It really doesn't matter though. The two teams will play in the SEC championship game and determine who goes to Pasadina.
-
Miami better not get upset by a very under the radar Clemson team!
-
I'm not sure anybody who can manage to lose to 2-5 Maryland somehow really qualifies as under the radar...
-
Considering Clemson has the fastest players in college football?
Yes, at least give them that they are at the very least a Dr. Jekyll/ Mr. Hyde team.
In ANY case, I don't want to see Clemson play like they are a good team today!
::)
-
I hate myself for being right.
-
Damn. :(
Our season is already over so college football is sad days now. :(
-
Miami vs Virginia
redemption!
two years ago they beat Miami 48-0 in the last game at the Orange Bowl.
Kick their fucking assess Canes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posting this here because it amused me.
http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=293152117
Despite me having a QB crush on LeFevour, the Chippewas backup QB shares my name.
Jawesome!
-
Let's go Gators!!!!!!!
-
Bwa hahahahaha Florida got worked!
~
Oh well, there's always the Hurricanes!
-
TCU vs Boise St. in Fiesta
Iowa @ GA Tech in Orange
Cincy @ Florida in Sugar
Personally, I think that we should've had the Fiesta Bowl split up and the two face either the Orange or Sugar pairings. Upon further review, I'd split the Orange pair. That way, if the Mid-Majors won, the big guys could still say "Oh, they just beat patsys. They'll never be elites." Plus it allows the Big East to keep the chance to prove it belongs.
Instead, we have what is essentially a Heavy Finals in Glendale. (And said Big East chance.)
Interesting Note: The Football Bowl Subdivision has a Regular Season but no Playoffs, the RPGDL has Playoffs but no Regular Season. Hm...
-
I figured they'd go with that copout with TCU and Boise.
Clearly we're what's keeping college football from updating.
-
They really should have matched them against others, but yeah, expected.
-
HOLY SHEP SHIT Batman!
Poor Gators.
and poor Meyer too. I had no idea he had a cyst in his brain. Sucks that such a great coach is stepping down from the game, but for how long, who knows?
-
The end of an era.
Bowden is gone for good.
and so is Tebow.
The state of Florida mourns.
-
Jeez, how many time has a SEC team won the National Title?
Dear all other conferences,
It's getting sad.
-
Talk to me when you don't almost blow a three score lead to a freshman backup QB on a team that really didn't run well.
-
Bama played like shit and still won.
Excuses are just that.
The SEC is just the best conference in college. Get used to it.
-
COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!
~
Week 1 starts off boring enough.
The big game of that week is VT vs Boise State.
Vt is out to prove that it's still an elite team. Tyrod Taylor is looking for an even better year, another year under his belt and with the same Offense (give or take), so he should do decent. (THOUGH FUCK VT!)
Boise State is looking for National attention. After another impressive year, they look to beat VT and keep their BCS title hopes alive. One loss for the Broncos and that dream ends.
~~
Week 2 is where the fucking action is at!
Florida St. vs Oklahoma
Usf vs Florida
Miami vs Ohio State - REVENGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
So excited to see whoever the new QB is for Oklahoma in action!
-
I've ordered my LSU student tickets so I'm ready for some SEC football action. I'm particularly looking forward to the Tennessee game and hopefully we'll be able to shake some stuff up and maybe get a win against Alabama or Florida.
-
I can't wait!
Next thursday college football is back!
*dances*
-
And next thursday becomes TODAY!
30 more minutes!
-
Florida misses Tim Tebow. The team lacks any offense.
-
I never thought I'd see the day that USF actually has a chance to beat Florida. Oh lawd.
Other bigs games coming up.
FSU vs Oklahoma - GO NOLES!
Penn State vs Alabama - Don't care, want the upset though.
Michigan vs Notre Dame
Scar vs Georgia - GO SCAR!
and
Miami at Ohio State
REDEMPTION!!!!!!!!
-
Man. I don't know whether to be happy because Michigan is beating Notre Dame or sad because I don't want Rodriguez to keep his job, especially running one of those shitty offenses where the quarterback is actually just a running back who lines up behind center. I mean, seriously. The QB has 170 rushing yards and 107 pass yards, and has something like a 40% completion rate at the half. That's not going to beat good teams in the Big Ten.
-
FSU vs Oklahoma - GO NOLES!
Haw haw. Eat it, biatch.
-
Oregon... please remove your collective heads from your asses. I know Tennessee is a God awful state to EVER have to go to, but still...
Edit: Heads officially removed.
-
Boomer Sooner, bitches!! Eat it, Longhorns.
-
I went to the LSU and Tennessee game today. LSU barely won and the last few seconds of the game are something that has to be seen to be believed. Les Miles is a terrible coach.
-
Les Miles could use some tips on clock management from Andy Reid.
-
Let's do a recap of the Florida teams this year, shall we?
~
Florida - started ranked - currently unranked - They are putting a beating on Vanderbilt right now and even though they have three losses in the SEC, they can still make it to the SEC championship game should they win out. Offense has looked horrible and John Brantley is a far cry form Tim Tebow. The defense has been surprisingly bad as well.
Miami - started ranked - currently unranked - Oh boy. My Canes are having a rough tear. Losses to Ohio State, Florida State and now Virginia all, but remove them from the national spotlight and the ACC spotlight. However, should VT lose to the tarheels and Miami finds a way to win out, they could still (somehow) find a way into the ACC championship game here at Raymond James. Hey a guy can dream, can't he?
Florida State - started ranked - currently #24 - The only Florida team in the rankings right now. The Noles gave away a game last week to the Wolfpack and are hoping to bounce back today against the Tarheels. Christian ponder has had himself an up and down season. He was supposed to be the answer to their problems, but has yet to develope or mature or whatever.
USF - started unranked - still unranked - The Bulls are having an okay season so far. First year coach, and BJ Daniels aren't having an amazing year, but they are a young team. two losses in the Big East means they don't control their own destiny, but should they win out and get some help they could find themselesv in the championship game.
UCF - started unranked - still unranked - The Knights are a surprise team. They are the only Florida team undefeated in their own conference. The Knights might even make it into the rankings after the big win against houston last night. Who knows!
-
OR we could do a recap of Oregon teams-
Oregon- #1 IN THE COUNTRY.
I'm done here.
That's mainly due to the SEC East being terrible this year. SEC champion is probably going to be from the SEC west, most likely Auburn, but LSU and Alabama have a slim chance of going.
Speaking of SEC west, last night my Tigers beat Alabama in what was an awesome game. I was in the student section and it was magical.
