highlight recap in no particular order

• surprise lecture on the history of yugoslavia by prof. snow, super interesting, new love for brutalism discovered
• book of mormon was pretty fantastic at making me both laugh and feel terribly uncomfortable. i will keep my sentimental frog forever
• when going to the east village, getting offered all manner of narcotics along the way, followed by waiting in the sodden rain outside a japanese restaurant for sopko to show up w/jim. meal mix'n'match = new tastes are derived from alchemy
• extremely deep <3 to <3 with andy in the actually-a-real-place 'kill devil house of dark spirits', a cocktail bar a few blocks away with perfect decor. it's hard to be an adult.
• MSTing w/Mei the absurdly terrible guilty gear not!anime, with apologies to jim. at the end the flan was a lie (or I fell asleep and missed it)
• super a pretty cool guy, anyone who buys me a coffee first thing in the morning is pretty much my BFF and NOW CARTHRAT WILL DIE FOR YOU, currently attempting to embody wheel-of-fortune
• andy defeats me 12 rounds to 2 at CTB and expresses concern he isn't overpowered enough; played UNIB for the first time and was charmed; revenge dunking took place in GGXRD, a Totally Easy Game To Pick Up And Start Playing, try it, it's fun!
• spontaneously running D&D starter pack for met/ciato/andy/gorth/summer/sopko and it is 2018 why is 'goblins attack' still the first thing D&D wants you to experience, this is not at all what makes fantasy cool. we can do better. we must. (ravnica.)
• finally able to talk crap about online TTrpgs and old anime over brunch with sierra, who made a heroic effort to complete a dead souls run and who I definitely owe a new game soon, and whom I now understand is responsible for getting us to play until dawn, a movie about terrible people

i had a lot of fun and hope to see y'all again someday! on the west coast! at the beach!!!

If you would tell us to go back, to leave well alone, then prove to us that you have a solution!"

Lee jumps out of the boat and strides towards the shrine. "Wu! War-Goddess of the river that froths and rages! I, Lee Aaeiko of the Noon, address you!" she declares, as her caste-mark bursts into view upon her brow.

OOC: Using Zenith-Caste ability to compel Wu to appear, if she's around. Charisma+Presence with +1 success; she is treated as having a defining intimacy due to 'recognizing the Unconquered Sun's authority'. Though, that can be offset by other intimacies.

Picking up the pace, Lee escorts Yijun He back the the village and instructs her to gather her belongings, for they shall soon depart. With that addressed, she rejoins Akeha and Rishi by the captives.

"We will question the Fair Folk further on board ship," she says, folding her arms behind her, though she spares a curiously glance for Den. "Another local will be joining us. I think we are otherwise finished here...?"

Lee leads Yijun on a short but leisurely route from the village that will take them to their boat, and most likely back.

"You may call me Lee," she tells Yijun, in the dimming light of her anima. "What you say to me I shall keep in confidence. We are the light; we have the power to change the world. You serve Fang Deshi today, but in times past the people of Nine Rivers lived under the rule of the Nine Goddesses. By way of his song, power has shifted to him. I, too, can sing, and perchance we all may scatter Fair Ones as they came. Cadences rise and fall, as empires turn and the sun flies from dusk to dawn. Believe in us, Yijun He, but first, believe what your own heart tells you."

OOC: Presence+Charisma, trying to instill an intimacy towards Lee (Powerful).

You're to accompany us to our ship when we depart, and you will not leave it without our permission. But we'll treat you as guests; you'll not come to harm by our hands unless you seek to harm another through words or deeds, or disobey our instructions. Your other duties are to be suspended. When we meet Fang Deshi, we'll release you, or earlier, if the whim strikes us. You will lead us to him at our pleasure."
