Unranked Games / Mother 3

From........myself >_>

Pretty simple stat topic. Didn't take more than 2 hours! The game can let you wail on enemies without fighting back allows for lots of easy in-game testings. Also, this is for people wonder who the hell is Lucas and why would he be in SSBB. >_> Anyhow, if you played Earthbound (or a Dragon Quest game for that was the foundations of EB), then most of the battle mechanics is familar ground. Standard turn based rules apply. As of right now, this topic is just the four permanent characters I guess now.

No, I have no idea if the IQ stat does anything as of the moment. No, I have no idea what to make out of the rhythmatic combo system. It basically works that you can deal extra damage with your physical by pushing the button with rhythm to the beat of the battle music. Sounds pretty cool. The problem with it is that it works at random and rarely if that. I'm not factoring at all right now. SMAAAAAAAAAASH hits happen around 10% and raise regular attacks by 50%.

Lucas: level 61

HP: 345
PP: 317
Offense: 230
Defense: 137
IQ: 67
Speed: 54

Lucas has better defensive equipment but it costs him quite a bit of PP. PP is more valuable than 15 points of defense IMO anyhow. One Defense up spell usually offsets that. Also, Lucas naturally reflects Lightning. If you played EB, then you can probably guess how.

Attacks-

Bash: 240
Bash after Offense Up: 290
PK Love Omega - 50 PP: 830 non elemental damage
PK Flash - 12 PP: Causes a multitude of status. It kind of works like Earthbound, but not as good as Ness' PSI Flash Omega. This version feels more around the EB Beta level, as in good chances of inflicting crying, confusion and rares chances of paralysis and ID. Later tests once I can understand some of the text. >_>

Supportive PSI-

Lifeup Alpha - 5 PP: Restores 70 HP
Lifeup Beta - 9 PP: Restores 130 HP
Lifeup Gamma - 16 PP: Restores all HP
Lifeup Omega - 28 PP: Restores 240 HP to the party
Healing Alpha - 4 PP: Removes one bad status
Healing Beta - 8 PP: Removes all bad status
Healing Gamma - 18 PP (MT version costs 56 PP): Removes status and revives with full HP
Refresh - 20 PP: 10% HP Regen for 5 turns
Counter Shield - 12 PP (MT version costs 28 PP): Cuts physical damage by 50% and reflects half damage back to the opponent
PSI Counter Shield - 18 PP (MT version costs 34 PP): Cuts magical damage by 50% and reflects half damage back to the opponent
Offense Up - 6 PP (MT Version costs 18 PP): Raises offense by 20%, then 8% more two more times.
Defense Up - 6 PP (MT version costs 18 PP): Raises offense by 20%, then 8% more two more times.

Comments: Well, first looks at him and you would probably say he's Ness without the obscene HP and PP. Damage is a bit better thanks to a lower damage curve, but Lucas is still pretty slow like his counterpart. A nice lasting game with full healing, BOTH physical and magical barriers, a nice physical after several Offense Ups and his big damage being half of that of Ness'. PK Flash can throw some unpredictable status in a long fight. The speed and overall status vunerability holds him back, but he's still a solid Heavy.

Kumatora: level 60

HP: 295
PP: 270
Offense: 168
Defense: 135
IQ: 75
Speed: 62

Like Lucas, Kumatora has PP over defense equips on here. It's only 9 or so points so it's no big deal.

Attacks-

Bash: 155
Bash after Defense down: 195
PK Starstorm - 48 PP: 700 non-elemental damage
PK Fire Omega - 40 PP: 360 fire elemental damage
PK Freeze Omega - 28 PP: 500 Ice elemental damage
PK Thunder Omega - 36 PP: Four strikes of 180 lightning elemental damage. Against one normal size enemy, only one strike hits on average. It usually hits all the time against huge targets. I mean huge ones, there's one boss that takes up the whole screen!
PK Ground - 43 PP: 5 unfocused hits, each hit does 5-10% of your max HP. This ignores PSI barriers and of course is ineffective against aerial targets.

Supportive PSI:

Lifeup alpha - 5 PP: Restores 70 HP
Lifeup beta - 9 PP: Restores 130 HP
Healing alpha - 4 PP: Removes one bad status
Magnet alpha - 0 PP: Steals 2~8 PP from the enemy
Hypnosis alpha - 6 PP: 80% Sleep
Paralysis alpha - 8 PP: 80% paralysis
Brainshock alpha - 7 PP: 80% Confuse
Defense down alpha - 7 PP: Lowers defense by 20% and 8% the second and third time.
Offense Down alpha - 7 PP: Lowers offense by 20% and 8% the second and third time.

Comments: Whereas Lucas was Ness-, Kumatora is more of a Paula+. Having Starstorm there is a huge plus, along with some (bad) healing. Status vunerable will eat paralysis and confusion at the same time before they can move thanks to how sleep works. Middling speed and bad durability hurts too much in the DL though. Probably an averagish Middle by today's standards. At least she's still the second best character in the game.

Duster: level 60

HP: 385
PP: 0
Offense: 200
Defense: 150
IQ: 50
Speed: 64

Duster can opt to lower his offense by 6 for 4 more speed if he wants. Again, not a big deal, but with a physical as his only offense he needs everything he can get. Duster also has a small chance of a quick first strike with a Kick before the battle begins. Tests go around 7/25 for me.

Attacks-

Kick: 210
Kick after tickling: 265

Supportive skills (Tools, can be used infinite times):

Wall Staple: 10% of stopping an enemy for 2-3 turns (it's really that bad.)
Siren Beetle: Makes the enemy turn around for one turn. Yes, this is utterly pointless and only useful for wasting turns or against total slugs in hopes of double turns.
Smoke Bomb: Causes uncontrollable crying. 40% hit rate.
Pendulum: 40% chance of sleep.
Scary Mask: 80% chance of lowering offense. (same has Kumatora's Offense down PSI)
Tickler Stick: 80% chance of lowering defense. (same has Kumatora's Defense down PSI)

Comments: Weird ass character. He's a fairly durable person with loads of inaccurate status, some stat downs, decent speed, and only has a physical for damage. Kind of reminds me of Nash only can take a couple more hits. I guess he kicks Cielo's ass though, huh. >_> I can't imagine him getting out of Light, but with all those recent NR punies you never know. Oh yeah, the guy is totally Grefter bait. (nevermind the whole game is Grefter bait)

Boney the Dog:

HP: 282
PP: Doglike (...okay, 0)
Offense: 180
Defense: 140
IQ: 53
Speed: 78

Attacks-

Bite: 190

Supportive Skills-

Sniff: Raises all stats by 999, gains invincible status and deals 5x damage to Suikoden characters except Suikodogs.

....Okay, all it does it reveil enemy weaknesses. ;_; I hope you're happy!

Comments: Can you see that damage? The awesome stat buffing? The fact that he can murder Luc like no one else can? ....Who am I kidding. Poor Boney doesn't really translate at all here. In-game, he's pretty much an item boy while everyone else attacks. The speed can get him out of total punihood, and I think he beats 4 out of the 5 Suikodogs and the Squirrels. Low Light.

Averages-

HP: 326.75

(345 - Lucas)

From the great Niu

The game does damage by simpl addition and subtraction. Damage would simply be Atk/Mag+Multiplier-Def/MDef
And most randoms don't have defence value at all, only few important bosses do. Take that as you will, I am listing all damage when hitting 0 Def/MDef.
Each character can equip up to 6 differnt command at a time. Basic physical command also takes up a slot.
Oh and, status immunity don't exist int hsi game, even to bosses.

Light: 200+mag damage 50 morale (802) Holy element
White Detsruction Ray: 500+mag damage 70 morale (1102) Holy element
Healing 3: Recover 800 hp

Middle at best, probably light. Is too frail todo anything good with that hp, despite the defence is not too shabby. Damage is also lacking despite havign the elemntal variety. Havign healing helps, but is kidna too slow to make it matter. His techs are also too costy.

Decent hp and has good physical defence. Not strong against magic, but can survive a couple with that hp. Damage s simpyl brutal, OHKO most with Bolt Slash after concentrated. Also has reliable x3 damage with low cost. Is not too slow either. A winning heavy.

The last boss with multi parts, and the only worthwhile boss in game. Finally some noticeble defence and Mdefce, and some good hp, albeit slow. Scarlet Blade is OHKO with both parts doing Resonance, and the parts are durable enought hemselves to keep on casting it. He also has a better status game to play with by having two chance a turn. And his hp is actually 7000+4100+4100. Whenever Lordlight runs out of hp, a parts well die and give Lordlight its own hp, making him even more durable against those without all target spells. And he usually can get at least one alive due to the parts' immunties. Probably a godlike if you allow his parts to full extend, taking that away... he is well, a durable middle.

Unranked Games / Great Greed
« on: December 19, 2007, 08:00:56 AM »
The best stat topic of all time!

Great Greed is a solo RPG with no speed stat; all fights are duels, and both Sam (the hero) and the enemy act at the same time. Only healing spells have initiative.

Statuses:
Asleep: Target loses the next turn. Has a ~30% chance of lasting one more turn, then 30% of lasting another turn, and so on.
Frozen: Same as Asleep.
Falling: Same as Asleep.
Stunned: Same as Asleep.
Dazed: Same as Asleep.
Burning: Target receives 30 extra damage the next turn, but can still act. Has a ~30% chance of lasting one more turn, then 30% of lasting another turn, and so on.
Blinded: Lowers accuracy the next turn. Has a ~30% chance of lasting one more turn, then 30% of lasting another turn, and so on. Most overpowered status ever.
Poison: Target loses 10 point of damage at the end of every turn. Has a ~30% chance of lasting one more turn, then 30% of lasting another turn, and so on.
Wrapping: Cannot cast spell next turn. Has a ~30% chance of lasting one more turn, then 30% of lasting another turn, and so on.

Now, the fun part.

And now, every boss in the game! They're considered status immune, unless stated otherwise. Attacks listed in paranthesis are attacks the hero can't afford to use. Being strong/weak against one element means taking around one third more/less damage against that element.

Yaaaaa!: 27
Freeze 2: 58

Comments: In game, he more or less forces you to use items or overlevel! In the DL, he's... weaker, though still decent. Low Heavy. 2HKO damage after Power, and solid durability.

Fifi
"They are an apple for grace, a peach for beauty and a walnut for wisdom. With those three types of fruit, I will make you a beautiful costume."

HP: 1300
Attack: 17
Defend: Takes 1/2-1/3 of normal damage this round.
Fire 2: 80
Weak against Lighning.

Yaaaaa!: 25
Yaaaaa! after Power or Weaken: 64
Yaaaaa! after Power and Weaken: 103
Bolt 2: 101

Comments: The giant lobster of doom really sucks in game, since he dislikes using Fire 2. In the DL... Like every other, good durability, unspectacular 3HKO damage. He really dislikes Fire Protection, too. Middle.

OMG SPOILAR

Shrimp
"It was easy because I was trusted."

HP: 1400
Power: Increases attack power.
Attack: 50
Attack after Power: 103
Strong against Fire and Ice, weak against Lightning. He is randomly inflicted with the "falling" status

Yaaaaa!: ~40
Yaaaaa! after Power or Weaken: 60
(Bolt 2: 77)
(Freeze 3: 69)
Citrus, a helper, sometimes attack him for 25 damage.

Comments: Similar to the other bosses. Average PC damage after Power... Blah. Classical kickass defenses and boss immunities, but not exactly impressive. Middle. Lobsters should be better than that, damnit. (Why he is called Shrimp, I wonder)

END SPOILAR

Julien
"Wuuu. Who are those guys?"

Attack: 0
Dodge: Same as Sam's. Takes very low damage this round.

Sometimes Microwave will attack with a level 2 spell. She tends to be intelligent and cast Bolt 2 instead of the other. (60)

Comments: Quite good, though a lot like other GG bosses in the DL. High Middle.

Lickick
"Are you going to get in there with your shirt on?"

HP: 900
Attack: 1 (Varies between 0 and 4, 0 most of the time)
Dodge: Takes low damage this turn.
Flee: Runs away.

Sam: Level 29, HP: 356, MP:252
Yaaaaa!: 90

Comments: And Great Greed spawns another awesome boss. Run for your lives, Lickick has come. You've got to love the 356HKO damage. Puny.

Dust Ball/Thyme
"The world of Greene is the trash dump for this plan."

HP: 1948
Dodge: Takes low damage this turn.
Drain: Lowers Sam' attack. Enough to make it completely useless. (0 damage) 60%
Attack: 0
Flame 4: 140
Freeze 4: 170
Bolt 4: 200 (Usable below 500 HPs)
Very strong against attack magic. (Takes about 1/4 of the base damage) Vulnerable to Push and Silence. Enough evade to dodge 1/5 of Sam's attacks.

Sam: Level 34, HP: 452, MP: 298
Yaaaaa!: 47
Yaaaaa! after Power or Weaken: 120
Yaaaaa! after Power and Weaken: 180

Comments: Uber tank. Drain makes him antiphysical, and he resists attack magic by a lot. However, anyone who nulls both fire and ice or has permanent Silence owns him. (Well, they might not be able to do any damage) I'd say that Drain works on bosses, since Sam's does. Heavy/Godlike.

Megagrem
"I have to pay off an old score from royal refuse."

Attack: 125
Shove: 235 (Only usable at very low HPs)
Cancel: Dispels positive and negative stat downs on everyone.

Yaaaaa! after Power or Weaken: 128

Comments: GG boss #47. Middle.

Dicey
"You are trying to go to Bio-Haz's castle? I will not let you!"

HP: 830
Attack: 30
No way: Does nothing.
Vulnerable to Zap, Sleep and Push. Weak to Lightning.

Sam: Level 38, HP: 532, MP: 332
Yaaaaa!: 105
Yaaaaa! after Power or Weaken: 160
Yaaaaa! after Power and Weaken: 220
Bolt 4: 259.

Comments: And just when I thought that there were no scrub bosses left, DICEY COMES TO THE RESCUE! Puny.

NoKnight
"You! How did you get in!"

HP: 1500
Attack: 120
Freeze 4: 170
Guard: Raises physical defense. (Only takes 6 damage from Yaaaaa!)
Halves Fire and Lightning. Very Weak against Ice (Takes 2/3 more damage) Vulnerable to Push.

Sam: Level 40, HP: 575, MP 361
Yaaaaa!: 70
Yaaaaa! after Power or Weaken: 130
Yaaaaa! after Power and Weaken: 200
Freeze 4: 288
Heal 2: Heal 100 HPs.

Comments: Low durability for a GG boss, but antiphysical. Mm... Low Middle.

Bio-Hazard Harry
"It seems that we have a great gap in our values."

Speed: Raises accuracy.
Attack: 170
Attack after Power: ~300
Dodge: Takes low damage this round.
Flame 4: 140
Freeze 4: 170
Bolt 4: 200
Confuse: Inflicts Dazed status. Has a ~30% chance of lasting one more turn, then 30% of lasting another turn, and so on. Good chance of working.

Sam: Level 42, HP: 617, MP: 400
Yaaaaa!: 70
Yaaaaa! after Weaken or Power: 155

Sometimes Candy will cast the equivalent of the Guard spell on Sam.

Second form

HP: 4000
Halves attack magic.

Power: Raises Attack power.
Speed: Raises accuracy.
Guard: Raises defense. It's pretty much Anti-Weaken, so he takes around 80 less damage from physicals.
Attack: 200
Attack after Power: 340
Dodge: Takes low damage this round.
Flame 4: 140
Freeze 4: 170
Bolt 4: 200
Heal 2 (Usable at low HPs): Heals 100 HPs.
Confuse: Inflicts Dazed status. Has a ~30% chance of lasting one more turn, then 30% of lasting another turn, and so on. Worked 3 times out of 3, but it's probably not 100%.
Cancel: Dispels positive and negative stat downs on everyone.

Sam: Level 42, HP: 617, MP: 400
Yaaaaa!: 40
Yaaaaa! after Power or Weaken: 125
Yaaaaa! after Power and Weaken: 200
Sometimes Citrus will attack him for 40 damage.

Comments: With a name like Bio-Hazard Harry, what rank can you except but Godlike??? Terrific durability, an excellent stat boosting game, a dispelling move, (It probably won't help him much, though) game best damage, and other options.
