I got a new 3DS and I didn't know about the SD card situation.
1) You have to use a screwdriver to change it
2) The standard SD card can not have both Soul Hackers and SMT4 on it at once

Not sure if you saw my whining earlier on this, but I literally had to send my new 3DS off to the repair shop to get the damn screws off so I could replace the memory card. Bad times. (then it turns out that I bought TOO BIG a micro-SD card, although luckily it still works fine - you just have to format it on your computer rather than with the 3DS software, which can't handle 64 GB. Sheesh.)

FF5 - Also started a Fiesta, no frills, no chills. Maybe I'll finish this one. First job is Blue Mage, which certainly beats the hell out of Thief.

FFRK: well dang just when I was finally able to start going back and finishing all those Elite dungeons from the last round of new dungeons... They go and add MORE new dungeons. I'd be more excited if I knew these new dungeons added a character I wanted. But apparently they just add Red XIII (who I already have from the Sephiroth event that hasn't actually ended yet...) and Ricard, another GREAT Dragoon...

I still don't have any spears... Not for Balthier NOR Kain as is... And you give me Ricard? Dammit Game. I guess this will make saving up mythril easy for a little while!

So I was looking into Sam Barlow, who did Her Story, and saw that he worked on some of the latter Silent Hill games, which I never touched. Can anyone vouch for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories in particular? It looks like a Silent Hill retelling with an interesting framing device but reviewers don't seem to love it.

IIRC Andy liked it but the gameplay is kind of meh and my memory of Alex's opinion is off, I can't tell if he ironically enjoys it or if its a thing he enjoys making fun of.

FF5 - Already got through the Ship Graveyard. Blue Mage really makes going through the motions a breeze - Goblin Punch at worst is a nice boon for randoms this early, letting you put your entire party on the back row, and at best is hilarious, OHKOing things that are the same level as my PCs. Aero is your typical early game magic that's pretty decent for crowd control this early and, of course, Vampire is kinda overcentralizing this early, especially under GBA rules. Parasitic healing that doesn't suck, you say? Sure. Karlabos and Siren were pretty perfunctory as such - Karlabos ate pretty painful Vampires any time he attempted Tail Screw and back row takes a lot out of Siren's physical bite when she turns into a zombie. There's also the whole issue of a mage party turning her into paste. This could've been uglier with Black Mage, assuming they managed to get to Siren's zombie phase (GETTING there can be a problem), but so far, so good.

I'll assume I won't be able to land Mighty Guard and Transfusion unless I pick up a Beastmaster, though, which kinda sucks.

You can get them via confusion instead. Worst case scenario, a Dancing Dagger works just fine even for Blue Magic SCCs.

Do Blue Mages get confusion, though? I'm mostly thinking on how to get them to give me those spells in case I never land a job that allows me to use it. I gave up on two Fiestas due to the amazing Thief/Berserker combo (because it was honestly just -not fun-) and I don't really trust my luck to not saddle me with Berserker a third time.

Like hinode says, Dancing Dagger has 1/4 chance to try and Confuse. The odds are kinda shit, but it works just fine (I know many other people have as well), I used it my fiesta a couple of years ago on iPaid version.

Dancing Dagger at least ignores MEvade/Level so yeah it's 1/4 confuse on anything vulnerable, and allows you to get White Wind (Hellraisers) and Mighty Guard (Stingray) regardless of the rest of your party. It's glorious.

Beastmaster still lets you get a bunch of blue magic earlier than normal, though.

Super Mario 3D Land: Chapter 2. Tanooki suit almost feels like cheating. I'll probably try a tanooki-less challenge later.

Soul Hackers: I expected this game to take itself a bit more seriously, this would have made the camp cyberpunk way better. Right now it feels outright goofy and no character is acting like a normal rational person. Too bad.
Still good though.
I'm playing on hard, Carol-J (the hell is up with that name?) was moderately difficult. Good times.
Paradigm X has to be the strangest (and maybe most boring) MMO ever so far, but I'm liking the first person quiz and weird gardens well enough. Why isn't the RPGDL like the beach forum in Paradigm X?

Final Fantasy When Mama Was Autobattle - Yeah, new update and I'm mostly slacking on dungeons because must. farm. black. power. Raised Blizzaga and Silence Buster to R3, hoping to raise at least one of the remaining -ra Strikes to R3 as well. The Breaks will have to wait until Saturday, which is Ice/Non-elemental orb day.

EDIT: I may end up powerdungeoning once the Yuna event shows up for the Mythril, though. But I suspect Cecil's reissue will come first, which will be a decent extra Mythril stash to pocket. I'm not banking on getting her unique staff, of course, but if it does happen, I'll be very satisfied. And, if the stat/skill load is accurate, she's totally going to be my Garnet replacement. 5 White Magic/5 Summon/3 Support, good lord. Proving once again that Elfboy's responsible for DeNa's character balance department.

SHSM is an amazing, incredible, fantastic game and my opinion of it continues to rise over time. A lot of what it does right is subtle, introspective and not very traditionally game-like, so reviewers and players who come in expecting a "horror video game" tend to be confused and dissatisfied. And, yeah, the chase sequence bits are awful and sometimes frustrating. They are a minority of the experience though - for the most part it is an exploration/adventure/roleplaying game.

It is completely unique and I can't recommend it enough. Play the Wii version if at all possible, the motion controls add a ton to the experience as well (one of very few games I can ever truthfully say that about!)
