Preface: aiel stop spamming your FM4/XS crossover selfinsert fanfiction at me I'll make a P4 ranking topic okay~?

So this topic discusses the ranking of P4 and things we would rank from it. Based on general impressions from what I have seen and not heard, it seems the common consensus is to DNR Mr. MC, and that all the other PCs are Middle-bait yet again (a few borderliners but they can win their way up.)

Bosses...only one of them is really rankable apparently and that boss is Super Spoilers McGee (Adachi) to a massive extent, so much so that I'm doubletagging the name for spoilers~! Apparently the last time you guys did this you waited for a while or something, and it hasn't been that long since P4 came out so you probably want to do that again. I don't really care about McGee so I'll just go with the rest of you decide.

Anyway, talk, debate, eat cake, etc.

Writeup Graveyard / Edgar (vs. Delita)
« on: March 14, 2009, 02:15:56 AM »
In a king vs. king fight, only the most technological one prevails. And clearly, there is no king more up to date on the latest technology than Edgar! While Delita is forced to take the archaic battling methods by simple swordplay, Edgar has far superior methods; Noiseblaster alone prevents Delita from even scratching Edgar, forced into attacking himself endlessly. And while Delita has to contend with Edgar's solid defense, the patented Drill will break through Delita's armor like it was nothing. With Edgar having such a lopsided advantage in this king's match, the outcome will surely teach everyone the power of superior technology!

Writeup Graveyard / Ghaleon (vs. Space Robot Chicken)
« on: February 21, 2009, 04:12:49 AM »

Magic Emperor. Some random alien being. Hell Wave. Physicals against Ghaleon's defense. Ghaleon may not understand this whole "Fly to other planets and eat them" business, but he has another Godlike championship to win and a space chicken is not going to stand in his way. The Magic Emperor is confident that Lavos isn't the scariest or hardiest thing to grace the Godlike arena. With his doubleacting and Chaos Shield, Ghaleon can easily make sure that Lavos won't be able to scare him, as the alien entity will be dead before he gets off the many Crying Heavens needed to fell Ghaleon. Baring any mysterious alien events, the fight and Godlike championship look to be firmly in the Magic Emperor's favor.

Not Ranked Discussion / Astos (vs. Samson)
« on: December 13, 2008, 02:47:08 AM »
Astos makes his billing based on one thing: being the original dark elf. That FF4 lamer? Decided he needed a magnetic field and a lair deep in some secluded mountain only accessible via black chocobo. Astos, meanwhile, keeps things old-school and waits in an old school dungeon to devour old school heroes. Sure, the FF4 Dark Elf beat him up a while back, it means nothing now. Samson is merely one generic old school hero cursed to be incredibly weak, and Astos is used to dealing with four healthy generic old school heroes. It should take mere seconds for Astos to Rub him out of existence and become one step closer to becoming the true Dark Elf. Just you wait.

Not Ranked Discussion / Warrior (vs. Cathari)
« on: December 12, 2008, 04:42:17 PM »
While it may be puzzling to see FF3 Warrior in Heavy, a class that you can access from almost the beginning of the game, the FF3DS Warrior provides a definitive answer to that: Advance, a brutal command ability that amplifies the Warrior's physical to insane heights at the cost of leaving the Warrior defensively inept for the turn. Against Cathari, an immensely fast and powerful but notably frail gunslinger, the Warrior couldn't ask for a better ability. While Cathari will be able to strike the Warrior first, the Warrior will be able to respond with Advance in kind, tearing through Cathari's subpar HP total and ending the round, ensuring that she won't be able to take advantage of the opening Advance provides. With solid durability to take a few hits, the Warrior will Advance forward.

Writeup Graveyard / Klein (vs. Pamela)
« on: November 06, 2008, 02:26:51 AM »
Klein knows his first opponent all too well. The bright, ditzy Pamela played somewhat of a supporting role in Klein's home game, being a different, significantly less alive type of character. However, she wasn't much of a fighter...which has certainly changed with the advent of Mana Khemia. Fortunately, fighting the deadly PC Pamela Ibis will prove no more challenging for Klein than fighting the NPC Pamela Ibis. Pamela has all sorts of deadly tricks, but is too lazy to be quick to the punch with them. All Klein has to do is use one of his SleepAids to assist Pamela with getting the sleep she desires so much, then it's a simple matter of stacking buffs and debuffs to blow her out of the arena in one shot of damage.

Writeup Graveyard / Atma Weapon (vs. Persephone)
« on: June 30, 2008, 07:19:46 AM »
A godbeast who ruled over a giant floating continent vs. a random Veruni flunkie. Like all of Atma Weapon's matches so far this season, this is certain to end in a complete victory for the continent guardian. Both duellers are similar in nature, possessing high speed as well as being able to cause massive pain to a single target. However, Atma Weapon is far better at this art than Persephone, having superior durability and the ability to cast a much larger variety of attacks. Repeated Full Powers will wreak havoc on Persephone's frame, and storing up energy enables a plethora of positive status that Persephone has no way to stop. It is truly futile to try and outhit a being such as Atma Weapon, and taking the NR Godlike belt will prove this once and for all.

Writeup Graveyard / Onix (vs. Bard)
« on: June 30, 2008, 04:00:36 AM »
Onix is one of the most valued mainstays of the NR Light league, competing numerous times and thrilling crowds with his impressive length and sheer hardiness. However, he has never actually taken a NR Light championship - until now. After defeating a vast array of opponents including long-time rival Genshu, a simple pathetic Bard is practically nothing to Onix. The minstrel may be able to both attack and heal at once with a harp, but this runs straight into Onix's rock hard body, making them both worthless. After that, the match defaults to Onix simply using his usual strategy: Screech the opponent until they have barely any defense left, and KO them with one or two glancing blows. Then, Onix can claim the belt in the name of giant rock snakes everywhere.

Writeup Graveyard / Guard Daos (vs. Adell)
« on: June 24, 2008, 03:29:49 AM »
The hot pink number that is Guard Daos has made it to the NR Middle semifinals in a dazzling fashionable foray. Unfortunately, his opponent is not so spectacular; an ugly hairstyle and a giant oversized tie really distract from what could be a sizzling display of manliness. While he does have firey hotness, that just won't be enough to take down Guard Daos's pinkness. Adell will slam away uselessly while Guard Daos unleases a stylish pororoca of water upon him. As well, Guard Daos's sheer fashion advantage will surely render Adell confused and unable to do much of anything before he is led to a traumatic experience in Guard Daos's glimmering depths. Evil sinistral fashion will rule this match, and hopefully lead to a champion in the name of pink everywhere!

Writeup Graveyard / Onix (vs. Tink)
« on: June 24, 2008, 01:17:33 AM »
The great rock snake known as Onix has defeated both a not-so-great samurai and a fellow Pokemon to advance to the NR semifinals, where he faces...a tiny, floating, frog. Certainly not the most threatening of things for anyone, let alone Onix. Much like his last two opponents, Tink lacks any sort of way to pierce Onix's rock hard defense, and he has nothing special to back up his pitiful offense like Genshu and Shuckle did. The french frog will find himself with nothing but his wisecracks as Onix screeches the frog's defenses to nothing and then tackles him over and over again, advancing to the NR Light finals easily.

13
Writeup Graveyard / Cinnamon (vs. Prism Red)
« on: June 07, 2008, 03:01:17 AM »
Sure, Cinnamon may look like a nice, friendly robot nurse with a tendency to treat your wounds. Sure, Cinnamon definitely doesn't seem like the type to be able to really hurt anything. But underneath that exterior lies a deadly, long lasting attrition fighter. Boasting both a limitless amount of healing from Angelic Aid and being able to lower stats mercilessly through each and every one of her five hits with the Kitty Gloves, Cinnamon is well set up for a very long fight. Prism Red may be a superhero, but without his best friends in Prism Blue and Prism Yellow, he has no shot in knocking Cinnamon out quickly enough to prevent her agonizing strategy from coming into play. And even if he did manage to get so lucky, Cinnamon's Hyper Mode will boost her durability to the point where not even luck can save the rod-wielding superhero, and send a message that looks really do deceive.

Writeup Graveyard / Guard Daos (vs. Axem Green)
« on: June 02, 2008, 08:08:45 AM »
Guard Daos. The brutal, unforgiving combination of Erim, Daos, and Gades that terrorized the descendants of Maxim's party in Lufia 1 is barely contained by the shackles of Middle. With a terrifying pink presence, Guard Daos will surely leave it's opponents in shambles - especially its first opponent, this random, low paid, Axem ranger grunt. With its powers of calling in mass amounts of water and...calling in even more water, the evil Sinistral combo will send the green Axem to a traumatic end in the glimmering depths, and advance its way throughout the annals of NR Middle...although nothing can really stop it.

Writeup Graveyard / Onix (vs. Genshu)
« on: May 19, 2008, 02:31:56 AM »
The giant rock snake, one of NR Light's finest warriors, is returning to the division to face off against one of its not so fine warriors. While Genshu may think he can be a hero by defeating the snake, but the far more realistic and likely outcome is that he will be crushed mercilessly before Onix's endless offensive might. Genshu's already puny sword strikes will be reduced to literally nothing against Onix's hard frame, and the only redeeming thing about the loser samurai, his vaulted Swallow Rune, is completely useless against Onix. Meanwhile, Genshu will be unable to stop Onix's Screeches and the inevitability of being crushed by Onix's rocks, hopefully leading the Pokemon to fight something less pathetic than this scrub...although a lot of things look pathetic before Onix.

16
Writeup Graveyard / Alakazam (vs. Gwen)
« on: March 24, 2008, 02:04:12 AM »
A maverick. A speargirl. While the two may not have a lot in common at a initial glance, it will soon become apparent that both are capable of easily being crushed by Alakazam's ample mind. And just as the maverick was crushed last round, so will the speargirl this round. A spear and a few flashy abilities won't be enough to stop the world's most intelligent 'stache from launching an immensely fast barrage of Psychics aimed Gwen's way. Toss in his powerful defensive skills in Reflect and Recover to help ensure that the living supercomputer stays alive long enough to fire said barrage, and you have a guaranteed ticket to the semi-finals of NR Heavy.

17
Writeup Graveyard / Dario (vs. Chuck)
« on: January 21, 2008, 03:54:10 AM »
Pshaw! Some wussy kid dressed in leather wants to challenge DARIO to a fight? Dario, the meanest, manliest gunslinger in all of Filgaia? Dario, the immensely dangerous henchman of Janus Cascade that almost brought about the end of Virginia and company? Ahaha, this fight is a literal, living JOKE for Dario! The blonde-haired sissy will barely hold to a few shots of Dario's gun, and Dario's fearsome technique of being able to zip up his fly to boost his defense to high levels means he won't be fearing Chuck's ridiculous weapon. And since his gun and his fly are all he needs to win, the clairvoyance powers of Chuck's Moon Medium will be worthless! In but a few minutes, Dario will restore manliness to the NR Light Arena!

Writeup Graveyard / Goddess (vs. Balthier)
« on: January 15, 2008, 08:30:23 PM »
A goddess against a human being in a match to the death? It sounds horribly one-sided...because it is. Goddess, the greatest of the three Goddesses, is taking a short break from standing around doing statue things to grace NR Godlike with her power. Her first match, though, is rather...underwhelming. A wimpy sky pirate who can't even seem to decide what game he's actually in? Such an opponent is nothing before Goddess; her deadly Charm can end the match in one shot, Love Token turns his physical prowness against him, and the magicks of Quasar and Bolt 3 will render him a smoldering crater. Indeed, this will prove that facing down a Goddess in combat tends to have...dire consequences.
