Discussion / Web Host Situation

As some people have noticed, the forums have been acting screwy lately.  This is an issue with our host, and while we have lessened the effect, it has not gone away completely.

As such, there is a real argument to migrate to another host.  What are people's opinions on this?  And does anyone have suggestions on good hosts?

Battle system
Atelier Meruru uses a CTB battle system similar to Atelier Iris 3 and the Mana Khemia subseries.

Stats
LV: Level.  Affects almost everything.  Somehow.  Taken at 65.
HP: Lose these and you get sent back to town.  Also Keina might scold you.
MP: Used for special skills.
LP: Used up when travelling.  Also used when attacking in battle.  1 LP for a basic attack, 2 LP for a special skill.  Having nearly maxed LP gives a stat boost while having low LP is a stat penalty.  Everything will be assuming maxed LP.
ATK: Affects damage dealt.
DEF: Affects non-elemental damage taken.  Subtractive of some sort.  As far as I can tell about 2 points of DEF reduces damage by 1, but it's not that simple.
SPD: Speed.  Linear + constant.  Constant unknown but it's pretty high.  Probably 500 like Mana Khemia 2.  That's what I'm assuming for now.
Fire RES: Fire resistance as a percentage.
Lightning RES: Lightning resistance as a percentage.
Ice RES: Ice resistance as a percentage.
Earth RES: Earth resistance as a percentage.

Status
Poison: Take damage per turn.  I think it's like 3% or something.  Lasts 5 turns.
Sleep: Skip turns and turn delay is about 50% longer.  Breaks on damage.  Lasts 3 turns.
Blind: Reduced accuracy and evasion.  Seems to be about 50% for accuracy.  Enemies don't really evade so hard to tell there.  Lasts 5 turns.
Slow: Turns come by slower.  Seems to be about 50% longer.  Lasts 5 turns.
Curse: Can't heal.  Lasts 5 turns.

Special Skills
Each character (besides Meruru) has a special skill that can only be used after conditions are met.  These become available after 8 non-Defend actions.  Affecting multiple targets with an action increases this counter by 0.5 for each target after the first.

Items
Items can only be used by the three alchemists: Meruru, Totori, and Rorona.  I'm including them but feel free to ignore them.  The values will use the best traits.

Equipment
Equipment used are the best possible equips with only traits that are always on the ingredients for them.

Rufus, Hanna, and Pamela are DLC characters.  Averages with DLC will be listed in {braces}.

Basic Info
Disgaea 4, like its predecessors, is a tactical RPG.  All player characters act, and then all enemy characters act.  Pretty standard stuff.

Stats
HP: Lose these and you can't eat any more sardines.
SP: Used for special skills.  Like eating sardines.
ATK: Affects how hard you can hit things with sardines.
DEF: Affects how much damage you take when hit by sardines.  Subtractive.
INT: Like ATK, but for magic.
RES: Like DEF, but for magic.
HIT: Affects the chance you will actually hit with sardines.
SPD: Affects the chance you can evade sardines.  Why would you want to do that?

Status
Forget: Cannot use skills.
Poison: Take 10%? mHP damage each turn.  Can be fatal.
Paralyze: Cannot move.
Amnesia: I think this lowers EXP gain or something.
Deprave: Not sure what this does.  No one has it anyway.

Formulas
Damage (Attack command) = (2 * ATK - DEF) / 5
Damage (specials) = 1.5 * (2 * offense_stat * skill_mult - defense_stat) * skill_upgrade_mult / 5

offense_stat is the stat the weapon uses for damage for physical skills or INT for magical skills.  Most weapons use ATK here.  The exceptions are bows ((ATK+HIT)/2), fists ((ATK+SPD)/2), andguns ((HIT+SPD)/2).
defense_stat is DEF for physical attacks and RES for magic attacks.
skill_mult is the base multiplier of the skill.  This does not change with upgrades.
skill_upgrade_mult is the upgrade multiplier of the skill.  This changes upon upgrades but does not vary by skill except for spells, which have lower values.

Accuracy (front) = 1.2 * HIT / SPD
Accuracy (side) = 1.5 * HIT / SPD [lower bound of 0.4]
Accuracy (back) = 2 * HIT / SPD [lower bound of 0.8]

Weapons and Armor
Shop rank is taken at 10, which corresponds to rank 28 equipment, I believe.  All storebought equipment is allowed, but the default setup will be three armors and a weapon for everyone.

Levels, Mana, and Skills
Levels are taken at 100.  The average level of my party at the end of the game was just below that, but Desco learns her final skill at level 100 so I just used that.

Mana is gained upon killing an enemy and is used for learning evilities and learning and boosting skills.  I assume a pool of 7000 mana to use on boosting skills.

Evilities are passive skills.  All characters start with an innate, unmovable evility.  Humans can equip one additional evility while monsters can equip two.  Only the character unique ones are listed.

Monsters can use Magichange when adjacent to an ally.  The monster becomes the ally's weapon with stats based on their base stats or the weapon stats, whichever is higher.  The innate, unmovable evility and the monster's magichange skills are then available to the ally.

Honor and duty are the calling cards of every Paladin. Titania holds up that sacred title and obligations as well as anyone alive. The Greil Mercenary's second in command guided both Greil and Ike through difficult times with grace and ease. Her skills with an axe are without equal, even among the deadly Warriors who are more than a match for the lady's strength. The DL arena gives Titania a chance to show off those talents. Light was no match for the Axe Paladin, and Middle was left reeling from her skills. Pity the poor lads who have to try and stop one of Titania's charges- you can just ask Mad King Ashnard's forces how much fun that was!

Eventually this will probably be a full tutorial of the features of the wiki and how to use them.  But Djinn put a gun to my head and told me to give some guidelines to porting to the wiki, and I don't like having bullets in my brain.  Strange, I know.

The BB->Wiki Converter

How to use: Copy text from stat topic to that box, hit Convert.  What you get next is text you can insert on a wiki page.  Pretty simple.  The format will be basically what it was in the topic, which is fine, but not really using the nice features of the wiki.

That is the index for the stat topic pages.  You'll need to add an entry for the page there, in alphabetical order.  Example:

The * makes a bullet point.
"Mana Khemia 2" is the name of the page.  Please use the name of the game, not an abbreviation.  "MK2" could mean more than one thing, such as Mortal Kombat.  You don't need to include the subtitle unless for some reason it's ambiguous without.
"Mana Khemia 2 ~Fall of Alchemy~" is the full name of the game.  This is what will be displayed on the link.  Please include subtitles and whatever here as well.  If the full game name was used for the page, then you don't need this part or the | before it.  Example:

The complete process
This will get a quick, easy port of a stat topic.

1) Navigate to stat topic.
2) Hit Edit on the relevant post in the stat topic (usually the first, though sometimes there are multiple).  If you can't Edit (due to not being the creator), hit Quote instead.
3) Copy the text in the box.
4) Open http://www.rpgdl.com/wiki/BBwiki.php in a new tab/window.
5) Paste text into that box.
6) If you quoted the post, remove the quote tags.  Alternatively, you could've just not copied them in the first place.  Whatever, just get rid of them if they're there.
7) Hit Convert!  Wait for it to finish (may take a bit on longer posts or slower computers).
8) Copy the text in the box.
9) Open http://rpgdl.com/wiki/index.php?title=Stat_Topics in a new tab/window.
10) Hit edit.  If there is no edit button, you'll have to sign in.  You may have to make a new account, I don't remember for sure.
11) Add your game to the index.  Remember, alphabetical order.  The syntax is

* [[Page Name|Full Game Name]]Don't use abbreviations, please.  Well maybe if the game name is ridiculously long or something.
12) Hit Show preview.  Make sure it looks okay.  You should see a red link for your game.  If it's blue, the page has already been created, so someone may have already ported it but didn't link it or something.
13) In the Summary box, write "Added <game name here>."  Or something like that.  Just say what you did.
14) Hit Save page.  The index should now be updated!
15) Click on the red link you just added.  You should be taken directly to the edit page.
16) Paste the text you got from the converter (step 8) into the box.
17) Hit Show preview.  Make sure it looks okay.
18) In the Summary box, write "Created page."  Or something like that.  I usually put "Initial creation." myself.
19) Hit Save page.
20) Congratulations, the topic has now been ported!  It's not as pretty as it could be, but it's there!

Okay, I had one person say they would prefer a slower pace, no people saying they liked the current pace, and vote totals are down from last round.

So yeah, just want some general feedback here.  Is this too fast?  Too slow?  Should I just make threads stay open longer but keep them coming at the same rate, or just make them less often?  Should I extend the current deadlines?

Not an official vote or anything, just want to see what people think because I want more people to vote in the topics!
