Okay, I watched that whole video and now I also do not get how that is a thing. Did not live up to the hype.

To be fair, that's not a very well-liked episode, and episodes do vary in quality with writers. It was just a good demonstration of her character.

But generally the show is around the same quality as the Powerpuff Girls, by the creator of the Powerpuff Girls. I like it more because I find the characterization deeper and the plots less Deus Ex Machina-y, and I get to understand some more internet memes. But I'm not sure what expectations you had going in, so....

Really Met? I think Ash and I watched the first 6? 7? episodes and I found it generally inferior to PPG. Not bad, but not as good as the PPGs really. Does it pick up anywhere in particular or did I just miss out on some strong episodes?

Also, I can forsake Shep for a short time, for this fad.

The general consensus is that the quality level ramps mostly upwards throughout season 1. A lot of people don't especially like the first 5-7 episodes (Exactly how many they dislike varies from person to person). Even then, you need to get into the teens before you hit any of the episodes that I've occasionally seen people call their favourite episode of season 1. (And I would not bat an eyelash if someone claimed that the top three episodes of the season were #23, #25, and #26).

Season 2 is weird--I'm not sure what I think of it in general. (Lauren Faust also wasn't involved in season 2, but all the rest of the talent was).
