Still sore over the 2010 topic being named by a Julie Andrews movie, I see.

You do realize you forever sealed the fate of 2012's GM topic with Buddy Bear references. And you already got a Good Xorning for 2008's tail end.

Might as well be the first to start I guess? I'm going to try and get back into writing, so for that purpose, I started a Wordpress to write about...uh...things. Life, games, other crap basically. Three main reasons to do so:

a) I'm not a very photogenic person and most of my memories are kept in my head and through words. So a Wordpress/blog is *almost* like a photo album. There's differences of course, but I do better using that to track my good and bad dates.

b) It'll will give me some knowledge and workabouts around a Wordpress if the DL ever moves to a wordpress format. There was talk about it, but it never really resolved, but hey. Learning something is always good. Plus from my brief hour tour yesterday, it seems much more customizable than my old blog.

c) Writing thing which I already mentioned

Will I still be using this topic? Sure. But I didn't use it much in previous years either. So, we'll see what happenes. I might end up abandoning it like I did with LiveJournal (ew interface of suck).

Quick question. How do I insert images from my own personal library onto these forums?

All I get when I click the image button is [ img] and [ /img]

Throw the image up somewhere, like on imageshack, and paste the link in there.

So I move into my new place, and find that half the outlets and some of the lights are out due to a busted fuse.  Ugh.  Then, the heat goes out.  They fixed that this morning but still, 2000 eleven has started out a little roughly.  At least they fixed the heating already.

Teacher's got heart problems, classes cancelled.

I'm-- we've only had one class of geography this semester, so I'm a bit worried about the test since we don't know what we need to study, but on the other hand it's hardly like the teacher can help it. I wish my school'd made sure there was a replacement ready, but man.

Had one of my teachers get seriously ill mid-semester, and I was totally impressed with how it was handled.  After a week of subs (actually other full-time professors filling in) they hired a teacher from another school for the remainder of the semester.  That guy did the teaching equivalent of a first-pitch home run - he taught a subject we were a couple weeks behind on using a textbook he'd never read, a curriculum he wasn't familiar with, and picking up from a guy who organized the material in a different way than he did and actually taught us everything we were supposed to learn.

Lucky for the school NYC is chock full of law professors.

And now, a gripe: spring semester starts on Monday, and to date I have received exactly one final grade from my last semester.  I took one of the tests I'm waiting on a full freaking month ago!

You... you actually get grades before the next semester starts?!

Cal was really bad about that. Or maybe it was my professors, I'm not sure. Either way, I was usually a full month into spring semester before I got my final grades.

Have a book editing contract, hooray! I was missing those. Some day I will stop doing pro bono work, and -- oh wait. Technically I have! It's a barter arrangement, so no cash, and in exchange for my editing skillz I get free weekly dog training, and free boarding whenever it comes up. Yesssssss. I definitely think I got the better end of the deal here.

I've decided since there is a tea store right next to my house that I am going to become a tea nerd. Bought a buttered rum black tea, a red tea, and a coconut-flavored white tea. The latter is pretty tasty, we'll see about the other two.

Now all I need is a teapot. :)

First day of the semester yesterday (set up my schedule so I wouldn't have Monday classes, because I work nights and need my Monday mornings/early afternoons to shrug off my hangover). Met a hot girl in one of my classes. I am on the first N of the system.

Is this a bad time to mention one of my friends at work is seriously making me consider turning into one? I've been pilfering her tea reserves for months now and I've never been happier.

Well, your alternative is coffee, which has an unfortunate tendency to pool in your cholecystic duct as a fairly disgusting sludge, so it's probably an upgrade.
