It's true. I do want to play Mafia. Gauging interest in who else would be interested in playing it. Hopefully we get enough that we could at least have a small game.
-
Registering interest

Also registering interest

Who would be moderating this prospective mafia game?
-
I am prepared to mod a game of mafia with 9+ people.
-
I may play, depending on when we get started and how the posting rules go. I'm not in college anymore and can't spend 2 hours composing posts within a 24-hour window.
-
Or I could bow out if my showing interest totally kills this thing. :p
-
I suspect it's more that Mafia is a hard sell these days. The glory days are gone.
-
Yeah, I'd love to play but I honestly can't imagine having the time to really engage.
-
The soaring highs. The crushing lows. The terror and the ecstasy. The springtime of youth. The life-and-death battles with Osaka Bancho. They're all gone... gone...
-
It's not too late! If we rally together here, now, then we can save this thing! We're all in this together. If one of us succeeds, we all succeed. If one of us falls, we all fall... Now come on, let's get the team back together, just for this one last wacky adventure!

So, what?
Play Mafia, it's like teamwork with your lynches?
-
Precisely, Excal. Preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeecisely.

Since regular mafia is such a timesink... this is where I hype this idea again:

This is the kind of Mafia that was ran at a forum I used to frequent, and it's much less time consuming for voters. You can read the splat for the day update, drop off a vote, and be done. It's obviously lame if you *totally* ignore the game, but 15 minutes to read up & vote should not be so bad. The arguing is more about story analysis and less "your argument on Day 2 isn't exactly how I'd have phrased it so you must be scum." If people really hate the default theme I threw out, I can switch it up! But something goofball fits best with this kind of thing I find...
-
I would completely be up for something that theoretically has a small time commitment but more time can be put into.

That idea works for me. Anybody else interested?
