You're assuming that this adaptation will be good and not utter crap that you wouldn't want to be associated with, which is what I'm betting it will be.

Eh, Martin's already signed off on the pilot script and said it was both really good and really faithful, he's going to be writing at least one episode per season himself, and HBO consistently turns out really impressive products with their series'. I see no reason not to be optimistic.
