General Chat / Re: TV Shows
« on: September 25, 2014, 07:08:22 PM »
Once Upon a Time: all caught up and stoked for the new season to this weekend! Big fan of frozen so pretty stoked about elsa; both parts of last season were incredible but the acting from Peter Pan just blew me away.

Supernatural: pure guilty pleasure, all caught up and itching for next week's season premiere

The Flash: saw the pilot hoh that tornado wrangling!!! Very stoked, nice seeing cameo by the 80s/90s cast actors from the last few flash stuff

Gotham: great, GREAT premiere, so depressing and dark, ohh Ms Smith I like where this is going, I do not think the actor for Gordon fits at all but he does portray the character satisfactorily

Steven Universe: what is this I don't even; I love it. Such an.. ADHD show like meeee, garnet and amethyst are pretty amazing for entirely different reasons!

Adventure time: yep, just gets more awesome every single episode, we are already in the googleplex area of exponential increasement. The revelation about Jake was particularly facisnating. This show keeps me going, still not seen every episode.

Been rewatching a lot of Venture Bros, the laughs and feels and nostalgia shocking identical to first 3 watches of series! That's staying power!! Orpheus, Helper, Ghost Robot, Brock, Dr Ms My Wife, Sphinx Commander, The Monarch, I could go on and on.

Penny Dreadful: don't want to spoiler this one as it's just intense and a quick season to watch! Loved it.

The Strain: plays out like watching a graphic novel, slow and paced yet intense and dramatic moments in every chapter(episode). Really hate Eph, hope his character is killed joffery style! HOPE HIS SON GETS TURNED TOO cause that would be a great twist, or in general if the master wins! Some of the heroes are REALLY unlikable! Russian Rat Catcher guy is hella boss though.

Mahou Koukou no Rettosai: hmnn this is... overwhelming, I am not just whelmed. Lead character is crazy cool and his character is told from the right perspective speaking from that human turned unfeeling positive sociopath(redundant with previous terms I know), so rarely portrayed in fiction despite its truth in television. Most of the Mages are portrayed properly as extremely high powered SEIGE WEAPONS, something almost never portrayed accurately about Mages, the techno wizardry yet still users of ancient magic(relics and stuff) is incredibly cool and logical. Main character is absurdly OP from a precision/destructive view point(both of then) but pretty much the rest of the cast is either precision or AOE seige weapons so it's pretty cool, heavy political and good insight into that unique Japanese cultural perspective on things. Great to see how a sociopath/limited "psychopathy" works in a high context collectivist culture instead of individualist culture. And explains why America is just soooo bad a place to be if you have even a slightly different brain than the norm! From a different perspective if I looked at this show from a high-context culture native viewpoint this show would be pretty damn average if not for the heavy technical speech and high-thought comedy. From that viewpoint it's probably only a B grade show, but since I'm not innately that viewpoint it's a fat whopping A+ as it appeals well to my intellectual side, something I have only had happen twice before via an entertainment source!

Fortuna Magus: COMPLETED after two additional 6 hour binge playing sessions. I must say this is probably the 3rd best mobile RPG on the iOS. Extra Dungeon boss was reasonably difficult vs my max leveled hax overpowered as hell party, died to its attacks and instant death many times, thankfully PMs swaft of AOE self revive items if been hanging onto paid off. Giga damage onnislashs feel so cheap now though.
While definitely lacking in difficulty it's nice to 101% complete an rpg with this yummy of a story in a mere 14 hours! Cash shop(u can earn the cash in game via battling any monsters x5) items are super ultra broken and at least two are needed to fill the log book to full in non frustrating manner. Got to level 90 by the first boss in BAD end, and 100 in the extra zones after continue+

I just have to say they did not dissapoint with the bromance back story, though I'm left wanting a but more detail... CLEARLY main character is their bro love child when you every alternate line in the story into account.

jRPGs also have way to much BrotherSister complex love stuff. I know Japan historically was oriented to marrying in the family particularly your brother/sister/first cousin you spend the most amount of time with. But DAMNNNN. At least the bromance between the plot starters/finishers was something fresh and trendy.

Can't wait to finish writing this review thing on it.

YES IT WAS SO GOOD I halted the 9 other games I'm mating entirely to binge play this over the past two days. SOOOO GEWD

Demon Souls: oh gosh the story is so wet noodle thin plot and adopted sister complex I can't take it, the gameplay is so cool, USE YOUR POKEMONS SOUKS TO FORGE NEE EQUIPMENT is SOOO cool. Difficulty level is super weak too.
Monsters: what this battle system is completely automated, but what's this story it's teasingly interesting with its music concept.
Fortina Magus: the bromance is strong with the non player characters! Random little girl super badass THE high priestess appears, sociopolitical interest and intrigue, far to easy random fights and brutal boss fights. STORY is probably the most hits all my favorite notes, never seen a jrpg go there, kinda thing. Feels like the best rpgmaker game with HD sprites.

EpicHearts Plus: so addicted to your battle system. Apparently this was originally a regular mobile game and everything, so high quality.

KH HD remix 1.5: Yessssssss
Super Mario RPG: LotSS - sooo fun still, kinky music I'm noticing now.

Not to be a killjoy, but he's obviously mentally ill, which is a little different than being an idiot.  It's no different than the likes of the Time Cube guy, he's likely schizophrenic.

Did you know "Idiot" a long time ago was used to describe the mentally ill or regressed ("Village Idiot").

Both definitions seem apt for that fellow. And speaking from experience as someone who went through a host of mental illness, it's no excuse to be an idiot!

General Chat / Re: Watching any anime?
« on: August 24, 2014, 09:31:55 AM »
Mahou Koukou no Rettousei
Pretty much just fapping to the intellectually stimulating conversation. A nice technomage type anime.

Hunter x Hunter
Oh man almost the final episode time! The killua/alkulla arc is my favorite because sooo much Hisoka!

Sailor Moon Crystal
It's sooooo bad! But so was the first one for quite a few first season episodes. Ami awesome as always still!

Eureka Seven AO
Rewatched this. The entire first 23 episodes are pretty much just getting you to the point that yes AO's only purpose in existing was to break the curse on original universe Eureka and Renton.
Truth still insanely awesome and easily the best character since he's the only other one to "survive" the messing with time with AO. Their whole bromance was pretty rad too. Based on the lines in Ao's eyes he has 10-20 years left at the moment he jumps out of the nirvash mk2

Justice League & Captain Planet all seasons
Lots of marathoning of these two the past two months. Really dark they both are.

Jojo's Bizzare Adventure: Stardust Crusaders
Soooooo much slower than the manga, Jojo and duo are rad but most of these side characters are so terrible. However the occasional woman that shows up is so damn evil and malevolent and violent that they put the rest of the villainous cast to shame, which is really great to see, usually anime will not portray women so viciously. Over all a very progressive show, and somehow they avoid most any bromance this season. It's about MEN being MANLY by the way.

Hey all, been...a long while my life has been.....very entertaining the past year or so! My gaming has been steadily declining lately, but has been partially salvaged thanks to a few gems I just found a few days ago! ONTO THEM!

Currently playing

7th Dragon
Nintendo DS title I stumbled across today. OH MAN. I love the "it's to hard for Americans" games that don't get brought over. (still waiting on that magical vacation english patch tho!). A PITY I CAN ONLY COMPREHEND KANJI. Playing a bugged english patch version :D. Excited for the game crash or if I will quit out of difficulty level frustration before then!

Fortuna Magus
Has a bromantic overtone at the beginning between the drive of the story's main characters (whom you do not play as! (yet?! im not far into it!)
I'll have a review forth coming in my topic once I am a bit deeper in the game

Band of Monsters
LOL this is pretty awesome, another i'm only 10 minutes into it and hooked and I haven't even seen the combat system yet!

ITARUS
WOW been waiting for a 2D(2.5D) MMORPG style game for awhile that does it well. Shockingly good story. Gonna be getting same treatment as Fortuna Magus. Its "hard" in the "MMORPG" sense in that you will die a LOT to monsters all the time and it will cost you xp and gold(which you need a lot of often).

EpicHearts PLUS
This...This has been the game I have been waiting to exist since I first played through Secret of Mana with my brother when it first came out. Its getting big slow treatment by me, looks like there will be at least 3 play through (1 of which i will skip entirely probably since I don't like that character's player style or archtype), has an online auction house between players so it shirks normal freemium "pay for it too" games. THIS brought me back into gaming. And I am only about 20 minutes in. SOOO fun though the characters move around a bit TOO speedily, pretty shocking for a mana style action-rpg. One of the characters moves twice as fast as the one I'm playing so its CRAZY fast. Perfect and ideal graphics for me as well. At most I am gonna need 300 or the 500 "coin" they gave me for starting the game to "complete" it ;) (bought the "plus" version so I wouldn't be inundated with adverts).

It am engendered in me the old feelings of wanting to design my own game, now I know its feasible since this has all the features I wanted with the ultra high quality 2D/isometric mix (think Legend of Mana if it was sized for mobile) and the financial feasibility to both give it away free WHILE making an income off it when I succeed. Just have to "acquire" the engine they used to build it and slow down the movement a bit... pretty excited, I haven't worked on much video game design since...I went to school for it...so this will be fun now that tech and platforms are "at that point" ! LAZINESS ALWAYS PAYING OFF OH MAN. Hahah!

Recently finished playing "World of Warcraft" Finally beat the game forever!
Thinking about Starting up Super Mario RPG: Lotss
Thinking about picking up Super Smash 3DS and Kirby Triple Deluxe.

Has it...occurred to anyone that Kirby is basically an organic Vacuum machine and one of/the most famous vacuum company of history was "Kirby" as well. COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS MAN, break free of that hive mind.

DAT PS4 though...Nickola Tesla as a steampunk Order associate?! Humina Humina!

GRAPHICS SUPERIOR TO REAL LIFE? yes please! Oh...that price tag tho.... pass!

RPG Reviews / Re: Montana's Mobile (iOS) RPG Smorgasbord.

Lets get this underway with the short form!

Scoring is based on 0-10 and includes decimal(% score based) and based on its GENRE or intended style(IE a 2D side scroller with HD sprites would get 100% for meeting all criteria, if the pallet is muted in a bad way or aggravates the eyes the score would be lowered, an intended Retro graphics game would get a 10 if it meets all criteria of desirable retro graphics(8bit, 16bit, etc). 3D games an 8 would at reality's visual standard (late gen PS3) or past it at 10(I.e. upcoming PS4 games) YES the iphone can display PS4 quality games in its platform quite easily apparently though functionality is cut elsewhere or we'd have several gig sized game) or feel if its aiming to "be close" or "spiritual successor" to a certain game or type of game. A lot of these are "krpgs" which are action rpgs like Secret of Mana but with a heavy emphisis on Korean style grinding (mass killing of monsters with associated kill X monsters repeatable quests, etc) and high levels of customization. Many of these are "freemium" games but as such usually $5-10 is all you need to spend in the in game shops to get all you need out of the game making them 5-45$ cheaper than buying a console game (Steam excluded). All terrible grammar is intentional, spelling mistakes are not and usually means spell check has failed me.

Power Puff Girls: Defenders of Townsville
Graphics - 8.5/10
Gives the option for the "Modern" new look for powerpuff girls which is quite stylistic and moody but falls short slightly to similar games, and the "classic" look which is pulled off perfectly and is seemless with the rest of the in game art artifacts.

Gameplay - 7.5
Flying beat-em-up essentially kinda reminiscent of a toned down Bangai-O. Fly around beat up monsters and stuff, hunt for your powers.
Quite possibly features every single powerpuff girl ability ever, but I haven't unlocked them all yet so "acrobattack!" may not be featured as well as some of the other "team up" ones. Seems they included all one-off powers too so its awesome!

Controls - 7
Smooth touch screen game play, but if you have fat fingers its very aggravating in some areas. Suffers from "Touch Screen Aphasia" but its lesser than most touchscreen games with the problem, and has little to no impact in terms of getting you killed or overly damaged, slows down speeding through the game.

Story - 5
Its powerpuff girls! but the premise for losing your powers is silly and obviously gimmicky as well as retrieving your powers. But great if you've always wanted to "play as them" and use their powers and stuff.

Customization 7.3
You pick and choose which power you have active at any given time, there is various power ups and passives to equip and earn, over all great customization and your choices matter as you need some powers for puzzles and to reach certain areas and the passives are all useful and require achievements to unlock. Pretty Solid concept and great execution.

King the MMORPG
Graphics - 4
Gameplay - 3
Controls - 8
Story - 3
Customization - 5

Godus
Graphics - 9.3
Stunning and fantastic, a little unique and so hard to compare but they are pleasing, great colors and color cordination.
Gameplay - 8/4.3
Sandboxy SIM game + civilzation builder. I found it incredibly boring since I don't care for SIM games so its playability is low for despite all its good points compared to SIM CITY.
Controls - 6.7
Pretty responsive. Suffers from "Touch Screen Aphasia" like most iOS touch screen centric games.
Story - 2.4
You are God, do the work and enthrall the peeps.
Customization - 7.6
Sim/civilization builder, limited resources, time pacing, etc

Hello Hero
Graphics - 9.3
Chibi style 3D graphics extremely well rendered, very cute and well done like most of the Mario primary game Franchise
Gameplay - 6
Controls - 5
Story - 5
Customization - 5

Galaxy Legend
Graphics - 9
Gameplay - 2
Controls - 1.4
Story - 6
Customization - 7
BUY ships and outfit them and such, good concept, freemium model obviously

Battleheart Legacy
Graphics - 3.4
Really gross for the intended "claymation" looking 3D graphics the differences between male and female are very amusing however... Nice to have a female dwarf with muttonchops!
Gameplay - 9!
WOW its quite hard and unforgiving even in the first 10 minutes, don't wander into the wrong dungeon! PAIN PAIN PAIN. Great Class system, skills, and execution
Controls - 7.3
Shockingly good, very smooth and you can "kite" mobs around its quite challenging and the controls and system fit the challenge well.
Story - 7
Above average story for mobile games, VERY funny and satirical/tongue-in-cheek/4th wall. It is very genre savy as are many of the story options you can take (you get 2 or 4 choices for every conversation at least 1 is usually genre savy and sarcastic or outright douchebag! so good)
Customization - 5.4
Average level of customization for an all inclusive mobile RPG. Slight boost of points for its fun class system (acquiring them that is).

Hero Deckmasters
Graphics - 9.7
Steampunk + Cyberpunk Chibi stuff, really both fantastic/majestic and cute or cool depending on if Human, Monster, or Robot.
Gameplay - 6.7
Definitely the best "auto" gameplay for all the CCG RPGs still on the store, but around level 70+ its incredibly boring since energy costs are always relative to your level (and so all the resources you earn are practically worthless after around level 50) ONE battle with another player is about 67-73% of your battle resources so you can have about one battle per 3-4 hours. Tournaments use 20 points per battle so here is where max level is nice but now that the game caught on the top 10 spots(only good rewards are top 10 or top 3) are not populated by the "big spenders" tournament points lately: #1 6399 #2 6327 #3 921(thats right) #4-10 639 with around 1 less point for each rank(the best of the "Free" players). note for spots 1 and 2 you would have to "buy" your resources and that many points would cost with perfect play and the best "deck" at minimum around $120-230 depending on if they bought their resources during the opening sale when the items were introduced. It should be noted that same top 3 ALREADY have the rewards from that tournament in their deck before they competed(so the only incentives are to "win" and "deny all others theses cards"). So a great game quickly ruined by its own popularity now. Events are regular and its relaxed enough you only need to play about twice a day for around 10 minutes to enjoy the game, but you won't get anywhere and the story is pretty much over by level 62 or so.
Controls - 4
Everything is auto but it has some fun luck based stuff you can "Up + B" and other roshambo'ing with.
Story - 5
Pretty interesting but over to quickly for an "endless" game, suffers from "engrish" and "gender pronoun" issues, either that or there is A LOT of crossdressers which could be indeed what is happening as the translation is very suggestive of it! Very modern for ancient technology futuristic victorian era card battler!
Customization - 7
Definitely some of the better customization I've seen in the hundreds of card battlers out there. 8 slots, you decided what skills they have, and you can actually feasibly level the skills, would be a 10 if not for the "combo-spike/multi-range" attack 4 times back row skill and its 65% chance to miss.

Angry Birds: Epic
Graphics - 10
Perfect angry birds visuals since it is now its own genre.

Gameplay - 8.7
Great angry birds style game-play considering it am an RPG! No sneaky freemium finagling shockingly. Proceeds smoothly at least in the first 10 minutes and has good quality, the "Theater Zone" lets you watch up to 3minute shorts I haven't found elsewhere! GREAT old school stuff getting new episodes and other obscure things as well as lots of angry birds cartoons, its probably the best part of the game! Classes are varied and feel sound for each bird, hopefully there will be a "rio" and " "Stella" expansion!
Controls - 6.9
Unique from an RPG controls standpoint but very "angry birds" no spoilers as its a great system!
Story - ?? (10? 3? Eleventy?)
Its an angry birds game so in line with that it gets a great 10 for being as good or better than the space/starwars ones! From an rpg standpoint its cute and quirky cast and very basic pigs steal eggs vs birds rescuing them.
Customization - N/A
Not any really you choose your party members though but everything is static and railed otherwise.

Wayward Souls
Graphics - 8.5
RETRO GRAPHICS WOOT there is some artifacting and excessive tile repeating since the dungeons are random on each playthrough, very frustrating to see a wall with poorly visualized barrier that you can break an identical one elsewhere in the same level but not that one.
Gameplay - 10
This is Super Ghost and Ghouls style but from an Isometric view, pulls it off perfectly, though not the "Japanese Hard-Mode" its definitely about a tier above the US/EU port's hard mode. Great character designs and its just fun and incredibly challenging.
Controls - 7.23
Responsive and all around good, though not quite up to the best ones on the market, because as challenging as the game is the controls moving you in a direction you didn't tap for = instant game over in later levels so a net loss of points for that.
Story - 8.5
Wow really fantastic, moody and dark story, really unexpected for this type of game so a pleasant surprise, it would be a 10 if i hadn't played 2 others that inched out over it.
Customization - 5
Average customization, collect power ups and healing pots mid level, GREAT challenge though on when you should use them(and you will need to use them more often than you have them!) but it gets a point hit despite the genre because its very RNGy about the drops so you could go vast number of levels without encountering a health pot or a choosable power up, depending on how strong your prayers(re: how good your offering of orphan babies) to the RNG gods are.

COMING UP!

Punch Quest
Graphics - 9.5
Retro Glory, only the rare artifact issue.
Gameplay - 5/7
Punch things, punch them a lot, and to death. Average for that beat em up style but combos and super moves give it a subjective feels bump
Controls - 8
Smooth and no problems, standard "Touch Screen Aphasia" = death clause.
Story - N/A ( 0.5 )
There is no story go punch stuff!
Customization - 1

Inheritage: Boundry of Existence
Graphics - 9.7
Making it shy of a 10 because as its unique and its own thing the technical composition factoring artistic liscence is still flawed in a slightly detracting way in certain expressive areas and color.
Gameplay - 10
WOW JUST WHAT IS THIS GAME, the lite version left me wanting more. Kinda like a Tohou Shooter/Bullet Hell I guess?
Controls - 10
For a simple shooter they are seemless, does not seem to suffer from touchscreen aphasia!
Story - ??
Lite version contained not much story but the exposition for the opening was original feeling and stunning, too subjective to give a logic rating.
Customization - ?? N/A

Espgaluda II
Graphics - 9.7

Bullet Hell....hard mode bullet hell.
Controls - 8.6
Very Finitely Responsive, touchscreen issues = death.

Hybrid 2: Saga of Nostalgia
Graphics - 6.7
Sub Par for what the company produced earlier to it, and Hybrid 1 for that matter really. Main character is well designed and detailed however.
Gameplay - 6.23
Above average + points for being a bit unique for an aRPG. Hyper Grindy despite its very short nature a downside and a minus on the points.
Controls - 9.7
This game has hidden moves the game creator intends you to use to combat the game, this is on an otherwordly level of difficulty and is not completable if you do not use all the combos at your disposal and special moves at the right time vs certain enemies (some enemies are immune to all but one section of one part of a combo, and if you didnt invest enough in your resource to use the full duration of the combo you cannot beat them and die horribly/cannot advance). These are all huge pluses for this genre of game. HOWEVER the rare error with the touchscreen forgetting that you are giving it commands = horrible horrible amounts of damage late in the game (or in an area you are under leveled)
Story - 6.3
Picks up where Hybrid left off by of course partial retconning(dimensional timey whimey junk!) and other unpleasant tropes they really didn't need, Poor fairies. Still fairly above average for kRPGs and more pleasing hooks than average.
Customization - N/A

Zenonia 1, 2, 5, & 6/online
Graphics - 7, 7, 10, 9.7
Gameplay - 8.79
AMAZING gameplay but the freemium model in 5 and 6 hold it back considerably, why yes you do have to pay real money for the revival item and you will easily die ALOT.
Controls - 9
Pretty flawless and one of the least "touchscreen issues" kRPG out there in 5 and onward touch screen issues means failure in a timed raid and loss of real money resources.
Story - 7, 9, 6, 5
Great opening story, vastly improved upon in the sequel then it kinda goes down hill but still entertaining and compelling enough to play through.
Customization - 3, 7, 7.9, 8
Improves steadily as you move on, the first game was the most restrictive and poorly done skills wise. Weapon and Armor models change your characters appearance!!!

RPG Reviews / Montana's Mobile (iOS) RPG Smorgasbord.
« on: August 23, 2014, 10:35:40 AM »
Rather than review each one individually I will be giving mini-reviews and logic(usually) based score. With a few getting on going reviews as I have time.

Each review was based on the crucial opening 10 minute window of a game. I picked up this methodology in game design school and if a game fails to have you hooked by minute 10 it's not going to do well (and in mobile gaming with the freemium model this is beyond crucial). This is more a guide to see "does this fit my tastes?" And quality guide. A game that plays good in the first 10 might be terrible after hour 4 or 6 in the "endless" models.

Music/Score is missing intentionally as Secret of Mana obviously dwarfs all the others and if used as the base line "5" others would all be so under it its not worth the time.

Upcoming long form reviews:
Epic Hearts
ITARUS
Band of Monsters
Fortuna Magus
Secret of Mana iOS (revised, translation updated and glitch fixed!) (sample short form conversion score for comparison)
Graphics - 7.89
Gameplay - 8.5
Controls - 7.3 (may be a 10 with the newest patch which I cannot download that adds controller support and some new dynamic system)
Story - 10 (original SNES version would be a 7.9 so the update is a VAST improvement to clarity and character development especially of antagonists and villagers)
Customization - 3
No Customization to speak of outside of weapon choice and charge up combos.

Discussion / Re: Personality Type - Myers-Briggs
« on: August 23, 2014, 10:08:55 AM »
Necromancy go

Infp here

I - 51%
N - 86%
F - 92%
P - 87%

Obviously the E/I is close careful study reveals I'm a very open and interested Introvert, I just don't like the energy drain from socializing(2 week+ recharge time for just a few hours socializing. Can take a year or more to recover it from conventions! Grumpy grumps!).

While Myers-Briggs is very fun I think OP would enjoy the Big 5 test: http://www.personalitytest.org.uk/
It gives a much better understanding of what personality really is!

Myers-Briggs is more like numerology IMO, very accurate but an itching scratching sense of hooey film flam.

Edit: 2 some years later, traveling the world, loads of maturity, steven universe, cynacism, and personally meeting 15 million new people in the last year alone... My results are now
I 41%
N 50%
F 31%
P 38%

Pretty shocking change, i need to bring F and P up to 50% to be a truly neutral/balanced individual, i was sitting on 'uncertain' on quite a few of the answers now (torn between trusting my feels and reasoning, just how far i should anyalize something vs go with my gut, etc). This kind of points to me shifting into TJ territory with the mask/shadowfunction except ive taken off the mask and tried to integrate all sides and personality aspects into myself, i've also hung out with quite a few thousand sociopaths, psychopaths, and autistic individuals (cant seem to encounter schizophrenics for some reason tho), and gleened and picked up some of their very useful traits, and had a few negative ones rub off on me a bit. I definitely dont feel i am at where i want to be but scoring '50%' in all 16 types is my intended way to develop as iseem to be everyone on some level (which calls into question the validity of 'personality tests') noing quite as enjoyable for me as self mastery, balance, and experimentation.

Looking nback over my old posts here makes me laugh and roll my eyes at my inexperience and silly opinionatedisms at the time.

Hoosh, finally remembered my ID and password both for this site.

World of Blingcraft: Hellopanda Island Adventure
Pretty fun so far, rocking that vanity transmog gear and playing the in-game pokemon like a boss.
DC Universe Online: I am a lvl 3 pastrymancer so far.

Pokemon Black & White 2: Almost got my story mode team to lvl 100 9 months later... Just in time for Pokemon DNA Digivolution!

Zenonia 2: Dear god I die so much, but its insanely fun, probably the best true Action RPG since seiken densetsu original 3 (and just as good art! though not quite as stylish). I look forward to the mage class returning in a future Zenonia game so I can resume the series(0 interest because of lack for 3+ so far).

Mugen Souls: Sorta not anywhere yet

Tales of PS3 and overly long introduction chapter: Got bored before I finished the child arc, so, not continuing the game since it failed game development #1 rule.
Nier: Very angry I lose all my power ups after introduction arc. So I skipped ahead and read how it turned now, now I do not wish to continue play lol, as this game isn't metroid and can't get away with that. PHENOMINAL soundtrack and action gameplay, I have no attachment to the characters aside from the book though, a major failing. I've always hated time skips for this reason. (and why I stopped reading one piece)

Dust a Furry tail: Dying to play this, looks very fun.

Ristar: Still 100% fun but emulators don't do it justice, and I really dislike the english version, but no luck finding the japanese version english patched ;C such a different story.

Rocket Knight PS3: Beat it without gold armor power up. Pretty fun, not as good as the first two though, but I felt attatched to the story this time. Really hoping Dynamite Heady gets this treatment one day!

Rayman Orgins(various): VERY FUN I think its the best Rayman since Gold (which didn't work long on my windows 3.1 and 95 comp back in the day...) don't see where the rage is coming from in the community, blows raving rabbits out of the water...

Sonic Generations: GOD DAMNIT my save file keeps auto whiping itself whenever I get so far, its very frustrating i want to unlock super sonic!

League of Legends: God damn I suck at this game now.

Over all conclusion, my reaction times have gone down tremendously so i will be phasing out many types of video games from my willingness to play due to that "practice makes you suck more" bug.

Sorry for the massive absence been dealing with these scabies mites since orlando(thanks for infecting me DLCON!and no that is not sarcasm I've gained inner peace though flesh eating mites of all things!) though they've only gotten "bad" in the past few weeks(indeed at first they were MEGA enjoyable for....certain reasons XD). Signs you may have them(if you've never had them before it can take up to 7 months but usually 8 weeks before you manifest any symptoms), itching around the ankles/wrists/hands/feet, that eventually spreads elsewhere, red BUMPS(a sign of an eating mite rather than a devouring mite(like chiggers, which would leave red indentations)) or slightly off color(leaning toward the pink/red hues depending on your skin color), extreme itchiness throughout the day, etc, clear bumps of very itchy skin filled with fluid on the hands or feet/between fingers toes, etc, etc. Figured I'd inform the DL of this in-case any of you are starting to feel any of these symptoms and what not.

I'll forgo the games I've been playing the past month or two in favor of the ones I am actively playing at the moment:

World of Warcraft - Mists of Pandaria: Omg monks are amazing and the new zones are insanely beautiful even on my crappy computer(a lovely 3-15 fps in them XD! ) but to just sit in them and enjoy the ambiance is quite fun. Leveling as a Panda monk has pretty much made me feel like a demi-god outside of pvp. Quite fun to beat things 10 levels over you as a healer hahah. Also bounce bounce bounce, nomnomnom.

Pokemon Black 2: Wow what amazing quality of life improvements, and not to mention cooler gyms and gym battles, a much more interesting rival than usually, little story things, N's Pokemon!!! and other goodies, hard mode, memory link, etc. No longer quite as easy to level, seems like I never encounter audinos this time around, but I am only leveling 3 pokemon right now so they have 4 levels on the trainers and negative 1 to +2 levels on the gym leaders pokemon(this would be -3 to -5 in hard mode with the gym leaders having 1 additional pokemon, different moves and different items). Progress and flow of the game seems much smoother than the first, though...the amount of tutorial like stuff is getting annoying, it would be nice if they'd stop making pokemon for new players ;D but I kid, the more the merrier...still have yet to meet someone under 20 that is into pokemon...perhaps nintendo should learn from this some more, and make that....pokemon prism 3D mmo we are all waiting for. Can't wait for the PWT and legendary teams trainer battles! LET ME SWEEP YOU with my LILLIGANT all fire/dragon/flying-type legendaries! Plenty of 3s and Rotational battles this time around including gyms with them(infact gyms with only them so you MUST play with/have at least 3 pokemon to prgoress through the game this time around!). Difficultly level medium to hard this time around instead of easy, Hard mode also greatly increases AI performance and move choice(no longer not full restoring their last pokemon at 1 hp when your last pokemon is also at 1 hp) MERCILESS. How to unlock hardmode, infared link with someone that has beaten the champion in Pokemon Black 2 (available only in black 2 it seems btw), several other version exclusive unlocks that aren't tradeable between but many things that are as well(white forest/black city, the regi-caves, et). Having a blast so far, excellent pokemon game, and non-addictive this time around so I don't feel compelled to play it 24/7.

Legasista

Terribly fun game, once I unlocked the feature to desgin your own custom character in it...wow this game is just amazing for an rpg dungeon crawler haha. Also randomly finding end game loot in the first few dungeons is interesting, the RNG is pretty facsinating in this game...And so is wandering around as a Cryomancer desgined as sailor neptune is pretty boss... Also....TITS

Disgaea 4, day 1 into post game....

Well baal 1 shots my whole base panel at lvl 3000 something....sooo......not beating him even remotely anytime soon, and he revives from death 4 times, auto counter attacks all attacks and deals upwards of 186K as i try to summon from the base panel....OH BOY THIS WILL BE SO FUCKING FUN, i look foreward to lvl 9999, he's gonna be a real threat this time....AND HE ISN'T EVEN THE HARDEST BOSS IN THIS GAME...

Oh man the nerd boners for this game.

Got most of my dlc characters unlocked...just grinding to high enough level to actually beat asagi....but first gotta get high enough to steal her unique item before she magic changes....this shall prove difficult with all the no entry panels.....perhaps i shall wait till the next play through when my magic range is high enough to kill the 2 fusion monsters before she can dual magichange...

Gig is....SO AWESOME, how easy he makes Ordeal 4 for farming is....awesome. Sadly his chara world is so grossly overpowered I don't think i will be able to boost him till i reincarnate him....seems i will be forever out 2 upgrades on him, well...till the next cycle at least XD

The medic and necromancer are super fun to boot, celestial host broken as fuck, but I may just reincarnate it as a empusa so i can have deathsheal, flying, heal strength increased per unit moved(~100% damage increase~). Though perhaps I should just make a custom reverse damage map for my healers so I can feel uber spaming a 3x3 tera heal for millions of damage....at level 450....and you know...make it possible to level them on their own haha. Kunoichi seems....dumb as shit, what a waste that DLC was, oh well at least she's a hottie.

Fuka Desco episode: not started yet.
Flashback episode saving for after I unlock asagi, zeta, petta, mid-boss.
cycle 2 - saving for after i max certain things on my dlc human and monster classes. As well as get valzy to a decent new cycle level.

Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten

Well I am surprised it took me so long to find out that Pleinair is actually the rabbit plush she holds and the "girl" is the "doll."
(though one could argue she is instead like kororo or koroko/puppetgirl trope)

Having a blast mindlessly power leveling to unlock classes, desco is definitely my mana whore <3
Currently at: 5-4; grinding on rank 8, 5-2.

Discovered a lot of new shops in the item world this time around...did NOT know you could buy save portraits for your DLC characters! SQUEEE now to save up the.....10billion hell to afford them XD

Discovered how amazing the gunner class is for leveling, never miss and always crit following one of their atks? Yes please, so easy to level my lvl 1 mages on rows of enemies now XD
Still trying to figure out how to expand my mana pyramid and Training gym. Assuming some RNG luck in the chara world.

We desperately need a wonderwoman/origin story though if justice league movie is gonna be done, it has such great potential to be epic....though can any modern actress ever beat linda carter for this role? even the VA's after JLU for the varius wonder woman featured movies has been so bad....doing her up amazon/south american/native american seems a good choice...but all that ancient gods stuff has a lot of potential too... Could be a really epic movie.....but also immortal so....so many things they could do to tell her story(or just straight up port the 80s era wonder woman into the movie.....WITH LINDA CARTER....or something....lulz).

I guess the main thing holding them back from that is...potential for fan and/or woman audience rage if they fuck it up could run whoever makes the movie out of business/mass mob attacks. And....finding a current gen female actress actually capable of the role...(as you must both look, and act the part...and looking the part would be pretty damn hard, as you have to pull off diana AND wonder woman, and they look very different.)

Yes, all Daft Punk is amazing.  Some of the earlier stuff is a little weaker, but whatthefuckever it is still good.  If you are going to skip any do the Tron Legacy soundtrack.  Highly recommend Alive 2007 if you are just going to grab a little bit.  It will teach you that Aerodynamic mixes with anything.

Cairo Knife Fight - The Violence of Action.

I dunno, I still think tron legacy is one of the best music videos out there!

As for what I am listening to....

so...like........old school I love it. Can't even describe how much this hits on things i like (also what a hottie!)

So I am planning to get a PS3 console....uh.....there is like 6 different ones out there....the 80GB ones are more expensive than the 300+gig ones....whats going on? What am I missing? WHAT IS THE CHEAPEST ONE?

EDIT: Keep in mind cheapest includes figuring in the cost to repair system models that overheat or break continiously as well as potentially having to buy a new one when an old one completely breaks, etc.

Unless you criminally mistreat your system and/or do stuff you shouldn't, the PS3 is incredibly reliable, with the Slim models being the most reliable. The fail rate is roughly 10%? A point or two higher than the Wii and way below 360s. The cheapest ones at this point are probably either the fat models without Backwards Compatibility, or the smaller of the initial Slim models, so in all you're better off with a Slim.

Not sure what the hell your ex did to fuck up her PS3, but proper air flow and not leaving it on constantly are easy pointers. Reflowing/reapplying paste has consistantly been shown to be a temporary fix at best if you mess up your system/it breaks, and for the most part if you don't know what you're doing pre-emptively replacing the paste can easily fuck up the system.

That said, a marathon gaming session or two won't hurt it. I've done it before too. Just Don't Be Stupid.

Sweet, this was super informative, I only plan to play 2-4 games on it(plus loads of PSone DLC) so hopefully marthon gaming sessions(2-3 a week) won't hurt XD
It was a fat model, i...didnt even know about the slims. So thanks Hunter_Sopko :D also...sexy avatar~

Also...which one is least likely to break. My ex-gf had a ps3, and it broke...hmmm roughly monthly, but she knew how to sodder/etc so she fixed it fairly regularly.... I do not know these science sorcery techniques however.

Average time I leave a ps3 on is 12-18 hours whilst playing disgaea 4 continuously.

Pokemon White - Completed!

This game is worse then most of the other drugs I use! The gf has told me that she feels neglected when i start playing this game...i bought her Black to occupy her time, dunno why she is even talking with me about it! All jokes aside, she had never played any of the pokemon games and I took a shot in the dark that she might enjoy it. While I have run through the game with relative ease and charted 90 hours worth of gaming invested...along with 470 pokemon caught...she has registered just under 60 hours and somewhere around 90 pokemon caught.

Slacker!

Shame I bought this game so late in its shelf life, I can't get any of the legendary pokemon from this game! ARGH!

I just finished transferring over all of my old pokemon from all my other games...man it sure did take awhile, but it sure as hell beat the previous methods Nintendo gave you to do this type of thing!

I have a boat load of legendaries I never use, so for the after game in this game I am using some of the ones I never touched before! While leveling and breeding some pokemon I am missing in my pokedex I am having fun with Darkrai, Dialga, and Lugio. The other spots are interchangeable!

Oh and I somehow caught the pokerus virus, so I have been spread that ish around to as many pokemon as I can!

Which ones can you not get? many of them are available on the pokemon-gl. And a few have yet to be released(in america) at all! ALSO most other countries get all the uber dream world starters and bonuses, North America has yet to get....any except first gen(and you had to basically pay 20$ for just one of them). However 2 legendaries on the way just before Black and White 2 Start (meloda and Genosect!)

RPG Maker VX Ace

Made 2 custom sprites(in game character generator is pretty good; really boss hairstyles lol!)
1 custom class
Quite a few skills and an animation tweak.
And tooled around with all the settings for awhile.

This game is gonna be sick.

Verdict on map editing: I HATE THIS SHIT OMG so tedius lol, nah its super fun but man i suck at setting up god damn battle events!

23
Hyper Dimension Neptunia MK-2: Uhhh it states online that the game was made such that you don't need to play the first to get it. This is a complete and utter lie. Also this is the only game that has brazenly violated the "15 minute rule" and actually become incredibly fun to play after 2+ hours in(and only just then). Pretty much when you actually get new characters(NISA!!!! <3). The Meta jokes are hilarious but one seriously needs to play the first game first unfortunately as nearly all of them reference the first game /sigh. This game makes me want to pirate EVEN MOAR because the bad guys are SO COOL <3 idols. But it is somewhat playable for me without playing the first as I DO enjoy being thrust into the middle of a story with no explanations or details hahah, however this leads to a lot of the story and references leaving me bemused :(

Actually, Mk 2 sorta retcons most of what happens in the first game.

I have no idea whats going on, Who are Neptunia, Lastation, Lowee, and the xbox one? i have no character on them other than they have been being tentacle raped for 3+ years, i take it the last game had "bad end" ending regardless XD? I really want to know who they are I don't give two shits about the CPU canditates(this game feels like pilot canditate/for goddess imo). Nisa compa if is fun, let Nepgear die in eternal fire! This game too moe moe 10 year old girls.

So... yeah, I think Anderson's Little Mermaid is the first story to imply the existence of 'Mermen' through Ariel's father.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_WRTQVyZM0

Also, I've seen a Cyclops with two eyes.

 8-)

This qualifies as topic derailment D: I don't care if you've seen a cyclops with two eyes(the dreaded and fearful biclops!)! I want the mythology data on it XD
Also proven to exist with your own eyes things are completely uninteresting :( no mystery to them at all!

25
Xenogears: Started playing this again, forgot like...everyone dies at the beginning, also having actually read various "bibles" now and playing the game....a lot of shit is making a lot more sense, also this game is much much much darker than I remember.
Chrono Cross: Lol only at the opening animation but soon the addictive play throughs!

RPGmakerVXace: Tooling around with this...might just start working on my game sooner than later ahahaha, in which case I probably won't play video games for some time.

League of Legends: Excitedly waiting for Zyra to juice. The Eve rework is horrendously powerful, the twitch rework is garbage(both still broken as hell regardless; in skilled hands of course). Almost out of Elo hell again squeee

Some game I can't remember the name of with stamps and seals and stamp magic: Super ultra fun to play, hella boring to watch apparently. And heavily memory/math pattern figure out play based. Which is boss awesome! So enjoying it quite a bit....also body switch gender bender!

Pokemon Conquest: I need to get this game, but sold out everywhere(why they only sending 1-2 copies per store per refill wave ARGGHH), including online unless you are willing to pay $20 more for it hahah. Online backorders are so back ordered since such small shipments that....you won't even get your copy most likely in the next few shipment waves -_-
Hopefully nintendo is catching wind this game might be more popular/well selling than the main game...lol
