RPG Reviews / Montana's Mobile (iOS) RPG Smorgasbord.

Rather than review each one individually I will be giving mini-reviews and logic(usually) based score. With a few getting on going reviews as I have time.

Each review was based on the crucial opening 10 minute window of a game. I picked up this methodology in game design school and if a game fails to have you hooked by minute 10 it's not going to do well (and in mobile gaming with the freemium model this is beyond crucial). This is more a guide to see "does this fit my tastes?" And quality guide. A game that plays good in the first 10 might be terrible after hour 4 or 6 in the "endless" models.

Music/Score is missing intentionally as Secret of Mana obviously dwarfs all the others and if used as the base line "5" others would all be so under it its not worth the time.

No Customization to speak of outside of weapon choice and charge up combos.

General Chat / Purchasing a Playstation 3...WAT DO?

So I am planning to get a PS3 console....uh.....there is like 6 different ones out there....the 80GB ones are more expensive than the 300+gig ones....whats going on? What am I missing? WHAT IS THE CHEAPEST ONE?

Also...which one is least likely to break. My ex-gf had a ps3, and it broke...hmmm roughly monthly, but she knew how to sodder/etc so she fixed it fairly regularly.... I do not know these science sorcery techniques however.

Average time I leave a ps3 on is 12-18 hours whilst playing disgaea 4 continuously.

EDIT: Keep in mind cheapest includes figuring in the cost to repair system models that overheat or break continiously as well as potentially having to buy a new one when an old one completely breaks, etc.

Discussion / Recomend me games to play based on the following Criteria

All monsters including bosses can be affected by all status condition spells. And it is not un-difficult to do so.

Being able to use death but it always having only a 1% chance vs a boss does not count.


I am already aware of Phantasy Star series for these purposes.

Been wanting to play a debuffer/slow killer/witchdoctor/voodoopriestess/kirakira in an rpg or other combat oriented semi-storied game.

I DO NOT OWN A PS3 or 360 so recommend nothing for that(yes I know how amazing white knight chronicles is!)

Discussion / Mythology, Lore, and Speculation.

Is anyone a buff on the mythological sciences, fauna, flora, etc, and interested in having speculative discussions on the topics, I am collecting ideas for the RPG I will be making after I finish this other project.

Alternatively we can use this thread to post what little we do know about fantasy lore!
Things like: Hey pixies are not faeries are not sprites.
And the fae are DICKS.


This topic is for game creation/world building mythos/in universe workings. And I would like to keep it on topic as such for Manual/Biblical Purposes.

EDIT: And just to clear it up, I am looking to have discussion/speculation as well as the supply of information on word of mouth or legends of the past mythology of the fantasy/mythological sciences and its flora and fauna (and other in the case of otherworldly/unnatural things). Mythology information IS BEST HANDED DOWN by word of mouth/stories you were told/events you "witnessed"/old musty tomes you found inside that tree/Surprisingly well maintained leaflet you found in a ring of mushrooms with a dragonfly's wing left on it/etc.
