DLCon XI - Travel

This is just a place to post your travel plans. We'll just be taking the train from the airport to the house, getting off at King Edward skytrain station. The house's address is 561 W 20th Ave, which is about four blocks south of the King Edward station. if you are looking for a hotel to stay at in the city, I would probably look for something near the Canada Line Skytrain line, which goes from the airport to downtown.

  • Plane arrives at Seattle-Tacoma Airport (Washington) Thursday, August 11 @ 11:10am
    Planning to drive up (about 3.5 hours) immediately, so should be at the house around 4pm give or take traffic/getting the rental car/border delays.

  • Drive down to Freeland (Whidbey Island), Washington Sunday, August 14 @ ~12pm
    Visiting the parents! I can arrange rides to Seattle as well since I'll be going 75% of the way there anyhow.

Flying out of Vancouver on August 21(Sun) at 1:40 PM

Staying at the rental house, with NEB/Ciatos, and briefly at a hotel as well. Will dig up the exact dates for that soon.

Hotel dates: Aug 17(Wed) until Aug 21(Sun). So technically we will be out of Ciato/NEB's hair by Wednesday. We will still be around to hang out though!

That 9:30 to 2:45 layover I left myself just disappeared.  Last minute notification of a 5 hour delay in Sydney to SFO.  Gives me 2 hours to clear customs and get to connecting flight.  Will keep posted.

Um worst case scenario I might need to beg a local for a favour.

edit 2 - might still make connection after all, got next flight out details so a plan b potentially.

Edit 3 - okay plan B fell through because #airlines.   But whatever.

I am either getting on a United flight at 8 and getting it at 10 or if standby doesn't work I will be on one 2 hours later and I'm getting in at midnight.
