Damn straight there was an epidural. I had to be induced. We got into the hospital Saturday at 6pm, Juniper was born Tuesday at 4:29pm, and we got home Thursday at 12:45pm. The only way to make a hospital stay of that length tolerable - no matter why you're there - is copious amounts of drugs.

Baby pics here. Not too many because I'm trying to minimize how much presence she gets on the internet in general. But some.

Now I'm going to pass out again.

Grandfather gets his send off tomorrow. This week is hard. First week was hard. Second week was strange, like he was just away for a time and would be back. This week, yeah hard. Don't want it to be real, but funeral tomorrow.

I can really empathize with that feeling of not being able to accept the finality of death of someone you were once close to. It's especially difficult when you haven't seen the person in a long time... like say because you moved halfway around the globe and left everything else you'd ever known back home...There's this sense of having already lost them before due to the distance, and trying to adjust your mental framing of that from 'far away' to 'never again' is difficult both because the framing is so similar and because there's no reason to want the new framing.
