Week 5 - Semifinals

Loki (VP1) Loki vs Ryu Ryu (BoF3)

Paltheos

Loki's titanic defense stat and vast array of elemental attacks from both ends of the spectrum would ordinarily make him a fearsome foe for many a godlike. Unfortunately, his opponent in the finals is Ryu3, whose Kaiser form cuts most elemental damage by 75% (on top of impressive defenses) and has potent means of bypassing Loki's defenses. Try as he might, Loki won't be able to kill Ryu before he can transform, and like many opponents before him will fall victim to the dreaded Kaiser crunch. Chalk up another Godlike championship for Ryu.

Loki: 19
Ryu: 32

Blank Syndrome
Loki and Ryu are both exceedingly durable and it's a noteworthy matchup, but Ryu's still in the advantage with his flexible (buff+healing) skillset and transformations. Heck, even knocking Ryu out of Kaiser doesn't leave the dragonling helpless.

Barubary
Well done Loki... you beat someone way out of your league... guess you get the medal this season.

Gratz on beating Ryu III dunno how you'll do it but you shoulda lost to the bane of godlikes

Fei Fong Wong (XG) Fei Fong Wong vs Naoto Shirogane Naoto Shirogane (Pers4)

Blank Syndrome
Does this even need to be elaborated upon? She's evasive and particularly strong against the offense he's sporting while he, as a PC, is fully susceptible to her greatest asset: her repertoire of frighteningly accurate instant death abilities. It's a bad matchup for Xenogears' own pugilist protagonist.

Fei Fong Wong: 10
Naoto Shirogane: 34

Kanji Tatsumi (Pers4) Kanji Tatsumi vs Yukiko Amagi Yukiko Amagi (Pers4)

Stormwarden
Kanji thought she had improved her cooking. He had seen his senpai eat her cooking with only a little trouble. So he figured he'd be safe to try it.

He was mistaken, and the horrific screams emanating from the men's room spoke volumes on how mistaken he was.

Kanji Tatsumi: 13
Yukiko Amagi: 34

Blank Syndrome
Unfortunately, he's likely to be incinerated by her potent Agi~ spells while simultaneously being unable to burst through her healing--she *can* afford to miss, but every time he does (and he tends to), he's out of the pan and into the fire.

Landis (S3) Landis vs Serph Serph (DDS)

DjinnAndTonic
Serph was excited about the upcoming match against Landis. Sure, he knew the Suikoden duelist was a magical tank, but Serph had one trick up his sleeve that everyone had long forgotten: his Hunt skills. With the ability to devour monsters, how could he -possibly- lose?

Wait... what do you -mean- a bat-winged, claw-handed, scythe-wielding grim reaper doesn't count as a monster?!

Landis: 22
Serph: 18

Blank Syndrome
Landis' skills are unfortunately rather subpar, so as poor a run as Serph has had, he's in a good position here--Bufudyne will spell a frigid grave for the Winghorde's spooky vagrant.
