Week 4 - Quarterfinals

Piastol (SoA) Piastol vs Loki Loki (VP1)

superaielman
One misstep is all it took. Edge had had a blast insulting Piastol- from a brief interlute in BtS to interfering with her fights to making an all around pain in the ass of himself, it had been a delight. Edge's misstep was planting his left foot at just the wrong angle. A twisted ankle. Nothing major, normally. It cost Edge some of his speed, which is all Piastol needed to catch him.

The first Tempest Dance literally split Edge in half, and the attack didn't stop. Piastol oblierated Edge's corpse, reducing it to tiny fragments. Oh, but the Guardian Angel wasn't done then. She then attacked the entire Final Fantasy 4 cast. It didn't take her long to slaughter everyone in front of her. Even the heroic Cecil and the saintly Rosa fell victim to the berserker fury that gripped Piastol. Piastol didn't stop with just the heroes- she threw herself at the fiends and Zeromus as well. Rubicant, the only one with the power to stop her, was killed in asingle hit by the water aligned Tempest Dance. DL police found Piastol, surrounded by over a dozen corpses and covered in blood, laughing at her revenge. Piastol was taken into 'protective custody', lest she hurt herself or someone else. This held her for at least a good 20 minutes, when Luca came in and slaughtered the guards and proposed to Piastol, as he was that impressed by her willingness to kill anything in her path.

This touched off another riot, with Piastol doing her best to slaughter Luca, and Luca returning the favor (as he assumed it was her way of saying yes to his proposal.) It took the combined efforts of Cidolfas Orlandu and Yuri Hyuga to put the two down, in a titanic battle for the ages. After that, it was decided to let Piastol spend a little quality time cooling off in a sealed hospital room, as her rampages of late had gotten out of hand. -No- one was willing to revive Piastol to fight Loki, considering that he had knocked her out with a cheap shot during the start of the season and her current mental state.

Loki just appreciated the free win. Like anyone with more self preservation than Edge Eblan (Most of the known universe), he didn't want to fight a berserker Angel of Death.

Poor Loki... drew the short straw this week.

Gotta fight Piastol... that probally hurts like hell.

Ryu (BoF3) Ryu vs Kefka Kefka (FF6)

Bardiche
Let's tally the facts:

Both are misguided. Both have wings. Both are the final opponent in their respective game. Both want to rule slash destroy the world in some shape, manner or form, and both spend the entire game affecting the action without having a real, direct fight with you.

Both are also (sort of) leaders of their worlds.

Now, since Myria didn't survive against Ryu the Third, what makes Kefka any different? A half-naked angelic woman or a half-naked angelic man, a good Bonebreaker to the face doesn't really distinguish between the sexes.

Ryu: 25
Kefka: 24

Fei Fong Wong: 27
Renee Kearse: 13

Naoto Shirogane (Pers4) Naoto Shirogane vs Hiro Hiro (Lunar2)

superaielman
Man, Naoto spared no expenses in bribing people this season. This is her third opponent in a row who lacks instant death protection who is also argubly slower to boot. She'll face a fourth opponent who can't block ID this season in the finals, and one who's best damage is completely blocked by her Persona resistances.

Naoto Shirogane: 22
Hiro: 16

Vormav Tingel (FFT) Vormav Tingel vs Kanji Tatsumi Kanji Tatsumi (Pers4)

superaielman
Vormav and Kanji both have excellent skillsets and are good in Middle. Neither can use the skillset worth a damn- Kanji only has one piece of armor to break and still takes hits like a sherman tank, while Vormav's evasion means Kanji will be trying to outslug with Ziodyne. What this fight comes down to is toughness then- who can outlast the other?

I'd bet on the kid who beats his opponents to death with a freaking table.

Vormav Tingel: 19
Kanji Tatsumi: 25

Adell (Disgaea2) Adell vs Yukiko Amagi Yukiko Amagi (Pers4)

Stormwarden
Adell kept throwing punch after punch. And all it seemed to do to his opponent was cool her off. He finally fell over after exhausting himself, defeated.

And all Yukiko Amagi had to say to him? "Thanks for helping me cool off!"

Adell: 8
Yukiko Amagi: 28

Landis (S3) Landis vs Beecham Beecham (S3)

superaielman

Landis really does use a creepy fighting style to match is looks. He has excellent status from his Freeze skill, and drains life on critical hits. He isn't high on damage and doesn't -always- status, but a mere healer like Beecham has next to no chance to win before he's stopped in his place. Being frozen in place, with only getting free long enough to maybe heal for a single turn? That is horrifying and a bad way to go down. Beecham can always cut and run, though he knows that Landis delights in the chance to terrify his opponent. May as well suck it up and fight to the bitter end; there are no good options when fighting a wingly freak who could be an extra in your average Saw movie.

Landis: 31
Beecham: 17

Vinsfeld Rhadamanthus (WA2) Vinsfeld Rhadamanthus vs Serph Serph (DDS)

Bardiche

White. The ceiling was annoyingly white. Vinsfeld blinked once or twice. It was immaculately white. Almost painful on the eyes.

How long had he been here? He didn't know. Time had become meaningless to him. He only cared about the ceiling. White. Pure. It reminded him of his ideals.

It reminded him of this sinful world that needed to be purged of its impurities. But the ceiling was so white. Who had painted this ceiling?

White. It was so incredibly white. Vinsfeld gave a sigh. His match was going to begin. Then again, this ceiling was pure white. Like his ideals. It reminded him of his ideals. He was fond of those ideals.

To hell with the match. White.

Vinsfeld Rhadamanthus: 13
Serph: 19
