"Sacred Powers, cast your purifying light upon these corrupt souls. Rest in Peace, Sinners! Judgment!"

The bright light of heaven struck the earth, tearing the ground in front of Lulu into nothing more than a huge crater. Still, she chanted on, and fired her own brand of magical mayhem back at her enemies. A deadly Tidal Wave struck forward, causing Marle and Sheena to dive off to the sides. Both girls, trained in combat, weren't diving off blindly, however: Sheena managed to fire off several electrically charged cards, one of which struck home on the Steel Giant, her intended target. The robot stopped in place, visibly aware and active, yet his circuitry paralyzed.

"Heh," Sheena said, "regret messing with me? Too late now..."

Flare and Seymour, meanwhile, were having their time filled dealing with Myria. The goddess decided to take the form of the hydra demon the first Ryu had fought, and despite Maester Seymour's best attempts, it was becoming a major hassle trying to hold her back. Demonic fangs lashing out at the young en Kuldes, Seymour continued his magical assault - ferocious flames, sparkling lightning, dark waters and absolute ice struck the monster, though still she fought on, unabated.

Meanwhile, Lulu was outnumbered - while yes, she could take Kratos, Sheena or Marle all alone ( and indeed, could probably take the two girls together ), the three of them were proving to be a nuisance. She hurried over to the paralyzed Steel Giant, and kicked the Worker sharply. As luck would have it, Worker began to move once again, letting out a sharp call of "Form blazing sword!" as he charged straight towards Kratos.

Unfortunately, this wasn't the greatest of calculations the robot had made. The Cruxis archangel smiled, quietly said "Blame your fate", and thrust the Last Fencer straight through the robot's chest cavity. His blade, charged with the power of Volt that Sheena has bestowed upon it, crackled inside the Steel Worker. A mix of sounds, whirls, blurs, and assorted noises arose from the robot, as he permanently began powering down. Staring down at Lulu, whose face was now aghast at the site of her comrade falling in battle, Sheena grinned widely. "So, you think you're so special? Let's see what happens with a little teamwork!"

Lulu dropped her doll, summoned up her power, and in her usual calm and dark demeanor, muttered one word: "Ultima". Lights began flaring up, as a vortex of power blew forth from the centre of the arena. Seymour and Flare turned their heads, distracted for a second...

...a second too long, as Myria took that time to literally devour Flare, swallowing her like Audrey II swallowed its namesake. Seymour looked back, aghast, as he was now down two fellow soldiers. Well, at least Myria was down three...

...or so he thought. Kratos, Sheena and Marle stood where the Ultima spell had hit, perfectly together and undamaged. Floating above the trio was an old man, with a long beard and a staff, floating on what looked to be a large pillow.

"Ooohhhh hohohoh!" the man, Maxwell, laughed, "that was some nice parlor tricks there, but you can't beat the Master of the Worldly Elements that easy! Are you ready for some real magic?"

Lulu stood dumbfounded as, seconds later, a comet crashed down onto Lulu, flying at warp speeds. Additional space debris landed on the arena proper, nearly striking Seymour down in the process. Surrounded from all sides, with all the other team closing in, Seymour had nothing left. Still, he wasn't going to go down without a fight.

"So, I'm left all alone? I won't give in! I will not lose! Not a Maestar of Ye..."

At that point, Seymour was crushed by the combined force of five meteors in quick succession, ending his bid for power once again. A sad ending, indeed, but a fitting one for the Maester.

Team Seymour: 16

LegendaryCountryBoy
Well, with Funeral Wind, Flare's high speed can take out Marle and kill her, and if that doesn't work, Lulu's Death will. Worker 8 laughs at spells, which Myria has a lot of. Without Marle, Myria's team will quickly be overwhelmed

And A Child Shall Lead Them

~DomaDragoon

SageAcrin
Let's review.

Bleu is a naive dragon who hasn't been out in the world much.

Draggy is a naive dragon who hasn't been out in the world much.

Bleu has a large force of friends willing to help him gather treasure.

Draggy also has a large amount of friends willing to help him gather treasure.

Both sides also have people on them willing to sabotage the other.

And both sides, as it turns out, have people smart enough to realize that the other side is the only ones who'd bother.

And this is how the war between the Shining Force and Chrono Cross' cast started, a bloody massacre that lasted days and cost dozens of lives.

Ultimately, after a large amount of fruitless bloodshed, one thing became sadly clear.

Chrono Cross' cast needed actual amounts of equipment.

The Shining Force somehow gets by with just weapons.

So, in the end, Bleu ended up with more cash since his friends didn't eat it all up arming themselves, Draggy's side eventually won the war and captured Bleu, but not until after the test was over, and most of the casts of Chrono Cross and Shining Force were killed.

Everyone wins.

Well, except Flammie.

He was so angry when no one considered him.

Have you ever seen an angry, fuzzy, feathered, ridiculously cute dragon assault a draconic counsel?

Well, it isn't pretty. Suffice it to say that Bahamut's stuck in a cave wall, Tiamat's currently invoking dark rites to get his head out of the ninety-degree twist, and the Divine Dragon's ticked off that he's dead yet again.

Seek and Destroy

~superaielman

OblivionKnight
Cecil stared down the large number of dark knights, axes dripping with blood, eyes burning with chaos. Seth stood close by, his horse growing anxious with anticipation.

The clones started walking forward, intent on pushing their numerical advantage straight through. Axes in hand, they raised them up in the air, ready to fight the two outnumbered Paladins.

Cecil opened his mouth as the clones approached: "You shall not win this fight!" he yelled, his voice of righteousness causing the clones to pause in their tracks.

Seth joined in: "Even if my life is forfeit, my spirit shall live on!"

Laughing in unison, thus spoke the Gares clones in harmony (or disharmony, I suppose...not like the things can really carry a sense of pitch): "There is nothing you can do to win this fight, foolish Paladins! There's not one place where you will hold the advantage against us!"

Seth and Cecil looked at each, and smiled: they knew exactly the place. Speaking up, Cecil said, "Really? Then perhaps you'd like to take us up on that offer? You do have the advantage in numbers, after all"

The clones looked at each other, grinned evilly, and began laughing once more. "Try it, and die regardless!"

-----

Gares Five knelt down, crying. Gares Two was in the bushes, regurgitating what remained of his breakfast. Gares Ten was curled up in a fetal position, repeatedly saying "No...no...cannot be....bunnies...eat...people..."

The remainder of the Gares clones were backing away, cringing in fear at the site before them: bunnies. Floppy, hoppy, bunnies. In particular, one wearing very heavy armour on foot, the other on a larger, 4-legged bunny with a longer than normal tail. All around, choruses of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Once More With Feeling song "Bunnies" rang out loud and clear in the arena:

"Bunnies aren't just cute like everybody supposes
They got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses
And what's with all the carrots?
What do they need such good eyesight for anyway?
Bunnies, bunnies
It must be bunnies"

The clones were backed into a corner, crying and screaming for the torture to stop. "Had enough?" Seth asked the sad bunch.

All in unison, the clones said, "Yes! Stop this madness! Please! Save us the insanity!"

Cecil and Seth looked at each other, laughed, sheathed their blades, and turned away, leaving the clones to cry together for a little longer.

There are a lot of things that can scar a person forever, usually ocurring in the first 6-8 years of development. Abandonment by parents, nightmares of situations one has experienced, etc. Combining the two, especially when your find your mother with your father, dressed as the Easter Bunny, can be totally mind-wracking. This has been your daily mental health bulletin. Have a nice day.
