Season 17, Week 2
Dorcas
(Fire Emblem: The Blazing Sword)

Yet another member of the unceasing Fire Emblem invasion, Dorcas comes not for glory, but instead seeking the prize money so that he might have his wife healed. With Natalie's health held dear in his heart, he won't let himself lose. Although using his preferred weapon, an axe, would penalize him against his opponent, Dorcas can instead opt for a Killer Bow, which will hopefully provide him with the criticals he needs to down Grey before a PWS.

The wielder of the glacial blade, and one of Light's most successful warriors, returns to the DL arena this week. Even though this DL veteran is up against a newbie to the arena, Dorcas of Fire Emblem fame, he has no intention of holding back. Grey will be running circles around the sluggish Warrior, and the unrelenting pressure of his evade-ignoring attacks and Icicle Disaster will certainly see the greatswordsman through to the next round.

Sage Acrin
Dorcas had heard all the jeers before, he had thought.

People had called him slow, stupid, unable to take magical attacks to save his family's lives, let alone his own, selfish, worthless...he didn't care, he was in it for the money. From advertising deals, if he went far in Light. From the insurance, if he didn't.

Either way, it'd support his family for ages, and death, thanks to clerics, was temporary.

But, as he walked into the arena... one call broke him.

Chanted over and over by the crowd.

"Bartre is better!"

"Bartre is better!"

"BARTRE IS BETTER!"

"BARTRE IS BETTER!"

And Dorcas stood there, totally stunned. He thought back to Bartre bashing against a rock, just because he had been talking to a decently smart person. He thought back to all the stupid things Bartre had done.

He thought back to how much better Bartre was at fighting than him, by the end of their campaign together.

And Dorcas, the hardened veteran of many battles, broke down sobbing, and ran out of the arena.
