Season 17, Week 2
Beatrix
(Final Fantasy IX)

The leader of the Alexandria Knights enters the arena once more on the path to an upgrade to Godlike. Her first roadblock is Crono, the legendary time-travelling hero. Crono's famed Luminaire will do nothing to Beatrix thanks to the Thunder Gloves, reducing him to physical attacks, while the Alexandrian Knight can use her full skillset to inflict great damage and heal any harm done to her. It looks like Crono is about to fall yet again in a battle against a female general.

After a twelve-season hiatus, Crono, the RPGDL's own case for steroid testing, has returned. He seems to have a penchant for facing off with female powerhouses, as he's drawn the cycloptic beauty Beatrix in this first round. It'll be quite a stormy battle, with Crono's legendary Luminaire facing off against Beatrix's Shock and Thunder Slash. With both fighters having strength and speed to boot, it should be a slug-fest for the ages.

Dunefar
Ooooh! Can Crono's katana stop Beatrix's Knight Sword?! Can Luminare outgun Holy?! Can Crono use his blistering speed to slip past Beatrix and her devastating Shock?!

...oh, wait, that's right. Beatrix can stop lighting damage. Without Luminare, Crono can't really keep up, or gets his MP ran out as Beatrix heals away his Confuse shots.

Beatrix: 55
Crono: 36

Beatrix and Crono each have healing magic. Crono can revive dead party members, and Beatrix can heal herself in combat.
Guess which one's going to be more useful here.
