Season 17, Week 1
Worker 8
(Final Fantasy Tactics)

Relegated to Heavy by a mere run of bad luck many seasons back, the Steel Giant has finally been given the chance to prove that it's got the metal to tango with the big guns. Now, faced with a renowned newcomer to the DL, Worker must use all of its metallic might to face down the Fiend of Fire. Thankfully for our little robot, it's built of material that not even the hottest of fires can singe, which is a significant advantage against said Fiend. With the Steel Giant's steel fist leading the way, Worker 8 can surely pummel the multi-armed monster into submission in a heartbeat, and prove to the DL that Heavy is no place for such a mighty robot.

Heavy has become a Fiend playground, as the championship runs of Rubicant and Valvalis so elegantly proved. But One last Final Fantasy Fiend remains in the division, and this one serves not Zeromus, but a far older evil. The original Fiend of Fire has come to the arena, and woe to any who would weather her firey rage. Her first opponent will be quite a test; Worker 8 is both a former Godlike and a potent mage slayer. Fortunately, unlike her FF4 counterpart. Kary favors a physical assault, and her six swords will cut even the tank-like bot to pieces. Tremble in fear, Heavies; a Fiend walks among you once again.

AAA
Worker 8's magic immunity has been a very controversial aspect of the DL for quite awhile. It's made him a nasty spoiler and often wrecks DL-ers hopes of getting a champsionship.

Not that it matters here, since Kary beats Worker 8 in a slugfest, though it's a good fight. Magic-users breath a sigh of relief after Worker 8 falls.
