Season 16, Week 2
Queen
(Suikoden III)

In what's sure to be one of the greatest swordfights of the division's history, Queen faces off against Guy in her first DL appearance. It's inarguable that her opponent possesses a much larger degree of natural talent for the blade than she does, but all is not lost. Traditionally, Guy has always hit a wall when faced with a sneaky fighter with much more experience, and that's exactly what Queen is. With a little cunning, she should be more than able to defeat the aspiring swordsmaster.

The march of the swordmaster is an endless quest for perfection in one's attacking form - limitless toiling in search of an impossible goal. Guy's blade work is as close to perfection as any one sword fighter can get - blazing speed, brutal evasion, frequent criticals - but he looks to perfect his art on the whole of Middle division this season. Queen will be easily dispatched by Guy's near-perfect form and matchless counters, leaving him to prey on the rest of a division that's already thrice felt the wrath of Fire Emblem.

“I'm telling you, Queen, that a battle of wits are the way to go! This young kid barely knows anything, and can't even eat a meal without getting tricked.”

Queen eyed Ace with no small amount of distaste. She knew that Guy was no foe to take lightly, but.. “You're lying again, aren't you? I'm not going to lose because of your drunken ramblings.” Unsheathing Luna Llena, Queen walked towards the ring, sure that direct, bold strikes were the best way to fell the young Swordmaster.

Ace shrugged, and walked to the ring behind her. Someone was going to have to piece Queen together after Guy's Killing Edge strokes put her down.

A few seconds into the fight, and Queen knew she was in trouble. Her first attempt to hit Guy had been easily avoided, and his counter attack had badly damaged her sword arm.

Holding up her sword to block the incoming attack, Queen saw the Sacaean warrior grin, and hold up his sword to the sky. Before she could even so much as set her defensive stance, a blade whirled past her front, and then from behind.. and all was dark.
--

Wincing, Ace dragged what little was left of Queen to the medics. She was going to yell at him for this, somehow, and not even thank him for his good advice.

Queen: 15
Guy: 36
