Season 15, Week 3
Virginia Maxwell
(Wild Arms 3)

Ten shots was all she needed to take down the dual-wielding samurai, and ten shots will be all Virginia needs to take down her dual-wielding Assassin opponent this round. Her excellent speed and evasion will serve her well, and she good enough accurracy to hit her opponent more often than he can dodge. And of course, her long-ranged gunshots won't allow Jaffar the counterattacks he would so much love in this fight. Virginia has taken out a lot of scum on Filgaia, so why should a simple cold-hearted Assassin stop her?

Leila, Maxime, Chaco... the tainted blade of Jaffar has claimed many victims. His latest opponent, while perhaps more evasive than any of those previously mentioned, doesn't have the power or will to stop Jaffar's unerring strikes. Once his honed blade finds its mark, the spirited Drifter will be yet another victim, a faceless fool among the uncounted dead who dared to challenge the right hand of Nergal. Of course, Virginia should've feel too bad; there's no shame in falling before the might of the Angel of Death.

A hail of bullets spread across the arena.

A flash of light sped past an unsuspecting foe.

Such was the battle between Virginia and Jaffar, an unforeseen spectacle in Light. It was fast, fierce, and well-played by both sides. Neither fighter would give in, and neither showed any signs of letting up. The speed at which the two fought each other was phenomenal - both looked to be mere blurs of light, flashing past each other, weapons drawn.

Though Virginia's gunnery skills were top notch, she had an extreme problem hitting the nimble assassin. Likewise, Jaffar had so far been unable to overcome Virginia's keen instincts, and had been unable to strike a killing blow since the fight began.

Jaffar dashed over to Virginia, swiping her with his Killing Edge. The gunner adeptly dodged, though her skirt was caught in the slash. Pushing the offensive, Jaffar kept up the pressure on the woman gunner, swiping and slashing continuously. It was all Virginia could do to evade the assassin's swings: she couldn't fight back.

Jaffar pushed Virginia back to the edge of the arena. As he swung in for the next blow, Virginia rolled out of the way, hoping Jaffar's momentum would carry him out of the arena...

But to no avail. The wily assassin recovered quickly and resumed the offensive. In the split second of respite Virginia had, she reloaded her pistols, and opened fire. It was like something out of The Matrix: time seemed to stand still as Virginia fired off a hail of lead at Jaffar. Like a well-trained Keanu Reeves, Jaffar evaded the hail of bullets, weaving in and out of them skillfully. Virginia kept on firing, until a look of horror overcame her face. It seemed Jaffar had his chance now, as Virginia's ARM started to make the cracking sound of a gun without any ammo left. Jaffar grinned, and stared down at the heroine as he brought his blade down towards her head...

...only to find his blade was no longer there. Virginia hadn't been aiming at him: she had shot his sword away. Jaffar's plunge was interrupted by a swift boot to the face, and his ears perked in horror at the sound of Virginia reloading her weapon.

A few seconds later, Jaffar felt the pain his victims felt on their deathbeds. The fight was over.
