Season 14, Week 4
Mallow
(Super Mario RPG)

Cuteness ahoy! The puffy prince is smiling and anxious for his next match! After all, he managed to defeat a big scary Suikoden lizard. How hard would it be to defeat a geeky Suikoden fighter? Sure, Thomas has great evasion and unparalleled accuracy, but is he ready to deal with a good old blast of Shocker? Even more importantly, can he really deal with Mallow's good healing? The marshmallow-ish boy is confident that Thomas can't. Slinging his spells and healing here and there, Mallow is in for a fairly easy win. And, if all else fails, Mallow is still incredibly cute. The same can't be said about Thomas.

Thomas' evasion game has helped him on his way to the semifinals here, but its doubtful that it will help him in this match. Mallow's attack plan should be exclusively magical, so it won't take long to cut through Thomas' defenses. However, Mallow is no defensive master himself, and even Thomas' simply adequate attack power will be a danger to the young prince. Mallow may have healing, but that uses up FP that would otherwise be used for offense. If Thomas can force Mallow into a heal lock, the match is his. The weakest Tenkai Star is ready to shine, but will the forecast be clear skies or rain clouds?

Thomas has been getting pretty lucky this season, but unfortunately for him, his luck has run out. All the physical evasion in the world isn't going to stop Mallow's magic, and Mallow being frail isn't a big issue when his opponent's physical isn't exactly great. Nice run Thomas, but it ends here.
