The Invasion War
Season 14 Fire Emblem vs. Season 14 Suikoden
~Meeple/PD

Twice the Chrono Cross invasion caused alarm to many RPGDL observers, and twice the Chrono Cross invasion fell on its face in the most spectacular fashion. Not to be outdone, two other mighty casts (in size, anyway) have staged invasions of their own - in the same season! Of course, a fierce battle for the rights to the term "invasion" immediately erupted. After arbitration, it was agreed that the dispute should be settled according to the spirit of the DL - in an all-out arena battle.

On one side is one of the newest additions to the DL roster, Fire Emblem. Led by Lord Eliwood and Lady Lyndis, they are somewhat outnumbered by the Suikoden team - though the numerical disadvantage doesn't bother them the least. With five of their six warriors in Middle and most of the Suiko team is in light, they clearly have the advantage in quality. With Heath's strength, Nino's magic, Wil's precision, and Raven's swordsmanship backing them up, they're in for quite a fight.

On the other side, the entire Suikoden series has joined powers to protect their honor - though, unfortunately, most of them are from Light. Of course, they do have a Tenkai Star on thier side, and we all know Tenkai stars are destined for victory! Thomas is more than ready to lead his misfit team of warriors to a victory over the "rookies." Backing him up, we have the might of the lizard warrior Bazba, the comedic strength of TWO Ducks in Rhett and Wilder, and it doesn't hurt that they have a Ninja on thier team in Watari. Backing up Thomas' Leadership is General Kwanda Roseman, the iron wall. And of course, where would a Suikoden team be without the help of the neccessary kobold warrior? Kuromimi is here to make sure they haven't been forgotten. And of course, the feminist that is Oulan will be aiding this team of mostly males to victory. And then the narcisstic attitude of Simone might throw the FE team off balance. Strength in numbers may be what all the Suiko team has, but they're ready to prove that that's all they need!

So it's a band of six mighty warriors against a larger force of total misfits. Will the age old question of quantity versus quality be answered?

But more importantly, a not-so-age-old question will be answered: Who has rightful claim to Season 14's Invasion?

  • Beginner's luck is on the Fire Emblem side
  • The power of 324 Stars leads Suikoden to victory!

Thought they too face a foe that is able to join together to unite their strength, the men of Elibe gain more from their unity than do the warriors of the Suikoverse. With Wil and Nino now possessing meat shields to let them work their roles unhindered, it shall be child's play for their two leaders to guide them to victory.

Fire Emblem: 30
Suikoden: 23

I Find it really hard for the Fire emblem crew to manage to beat all 324 stars of destiny members. But thats just me.

....It's only 6-on-300 something until the FE team gets POed and calls in the calvalry. They'll still be outnumbered, but they'll also have some Heavies among them.

Fire Emblem invasion fails to have Ninja in it. Ninja are the way.
