Xenosaga’s stoic cyborg warrior will be making his first appearance against the Sacaen swordswoman Lyndis, and he’s going to need all of his tricks to be able to take her down. Although at first Lyn’s double-attacks will look to bring him down in a hurry, Ziggy’s speed boost will keep those in check for the rest of the battle. A couple of healing spells and an Ether Shift later, his frightful Executioner attack will quickly do in Lyn and her paltry magic resistance, eliminating Ziggy's first opponent. Lyndis might be the prettier face, but Ziggurat 8 is about to prove that doesn't matter much in the arena. |

The Sacaean pride in Lyndis shines strong. Leading the Fire Emblem invasion of this season, the noble Blade Lord is confident and focused in this, her debut appearance. Her opponent, the cyborg Ziggy, may be strong and tank-like, but she fears not. She clearly has the offensive edge on this battle due to her bladework, fantastic speed, and impressive evade. Holding the power of the trusty Manni Katti and Sol Katti swords, Lyn is ready to show the true meaning of being of Sacaean blood. The Fire Emblem invasion has only begun, and Lyn isn't going down without a good fight. |
Otter Ziggy has a pretty good battle philosophy in "The first rule of survival is to only think about one's self." The rather bland Lyn has absolutely nothing on that ordinarily. Fortunately for her, her tactics in this battle following her nasty first attack will echo a much greater warrior's perception: "Endure a blow and administer two; that's the secret of battle." In the end, patronizing Nate-speak will always triumph over cyborg brooding. Ziggy: 12 |
